Came here on a Saturday night at 7 PM to meet a friend for dinner. Plenty of space to sit down, not crowded at all. the baseball and college football games were playing. It took a good 5 to 10 minutes for a server to come over with water and introduce herself. We got the plantains which came with a dipping sauce that was pretty watery. The plantains were OK and came quickly. I got the mango salad with grilled chicken, which was good but not great. The place did not seem very crowded. However, the service was atrocious. The server was very nice and I'm not sure if she was the only server there. Getting water refills, which is pretty important was far and few between. She also never asked if we wanted dessert. if you're in the area the place is decent, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

The ambiance is really quaint and not at all what we expected, but so inviting. We were greeted with a cheerful "Hi, how many?", and then shown a couple of spots to choose where we could sit. There was a large group that was along the wall having a great time. Although they were loud and having a great time, it was not distracting and did not take away from the space. There was a tv on the side wall which had a basketball game showing and there was some great music playing over their speaker system. Luis, our server was quick to bring us water and let us know that the QR code on the table display would have the menu, including cocktails. There was also a large display on the wall with the beer choices and some cocktails as well. The food and drinks were amazing (see pictures). I have been here several times over the years and was shocked to see that I haven't posted a review. The manager that was this Monday was Luis. He was welcoming, personable and courteous and provided quick service. They have beer that I like. The salmon with jasmine rice is always a winner. I also do their veggie burger. Been coming here for years I've lived in the neighborhood for eight years. I've seen this certain bartender. I'm about to tell you about almost every time I've gone there.... for some reason, I did not remember they didn't accept Apple Pay when I went last Friday. This became an issue of not wanting to press my credit card number in it wasn't whether if he can or not it was more about if he wanted to, Which he did not want to but he said he would rather call the police on me. Yes Said he will call the cops .... I was sitting at the bar by myself not one drink I came to get some sliders and some fries. I don't drink in general. So I came in and sat at the bar by myself was ready to pay. Had a great time. Good service up until I upset them. The food is kind of dry, but it always is. And has been for years . You don't really come here for the great food you come here for the TVs and drinks. Like I never saw a chicken paillard prepared the way they prepare their chicken paillard. It's arguably chicken à la Plancha. Side note- I had heard him and the woman bartender talking about another employee. About how they hate him he does nothing at the end of the shift and he'll sit and talk to customers and they both hate him... They were cussing about him, dropping F bombs, and all this. So I'm already gathering evil energy about you know what I'm saying lol Anyway, time to pay and yeswell I guess they have to fix it right OK fine I'll just I am sorry I don't have my credit card but no problem. Every single credit card machine in America has a third option besides swipe and tap and it's type in the credit card number the credit card date and the CVV. We can get through this together, right? ?? .... Wrong lol Big boy threatened to call the cops on me about three times. I told him I have nowhere to be. Please call them. *shrugs* Then after calling multiple people running upstairs he really had a point to prove about how he can't press in my credit card number remember this After I'm waiting for what I think is the cops He finally comes up to me and says we can type in the credit card number I'm like OK my suggestion !! Lolol But he proceeds to type it in in front of all the bar people who have already given all their attention to us arguing because the cops are being threatened by the bartender when I'm willing to pay he's telling me I have to PayPal him or Zelle him or Apple Pay him and he's not supposed to take my credit card number, but he wants me to Zelle him Apple Pay or PayPal him .... I said I don't have Zelle PayPal and I'm not Apple Pay you. I'm paying with my credit card number. If you want to call the police, they will come and tell you the exact same thing. I'm on FaceTime with my friend as well . This grown man snatches my phone out of my hand behind the bar. I have a video because I have two cell phones. (Also there is security footage of the whole thing) So I throw my food at this mf throw a pint of beer, hop over the bar hop back over the bar grab my phone... . I'm not drinking. I was trying to pay. I was in a good mood. I was by myself I was watching sports. This particular bartender, the light skin guy with the beard. If the owner is reading this, you can check the footage. It was last Friday. And I'm sure you heard about it because the environment seems very dramatic even when I'm eavesdropping on the conversation between the employees. - but this particular bartender was having a horrible night and his energy couldn't handle, making anybody else's life a little easier by you know being understanding I didn't know that there was an Apple Pay and I do have a alternative option. I think he has issues with confidence and maybe control.. but snatching someone's phone out of their hand is assault. Would not recommend ever going in and I won't be going back obviously. I been going to Salud for the longest. I loved everything about this place the atmosphere, the servers and of course the food. I moved out of the neighborhood and still would come back from time to time with my wife to enjoy this spot but unfortunately yesterday has determined the last time I'll ever go which truly sucks big time The minute we walked no one was there, the server looked displease for people to come in. I asked him can we sit anywhere he was like sure, we chose our seats we didn't seat even 2 minutes he's already like what would you like. Luckily my wife and I know the menu pretty well, so I asked for 2 glasses of water and a glass of red sangria, I told him I'm ready for the entire order, but instead of taking the order decides to walk away mid way of my sentence. A few moments later comes back with the sangria and water then we proceed to order a chimi sliders with the wings and my wife ordered el jibarito sandwich with chicken and no onions, btw the server never wrote the order down or repeated. Once we received our food we noticed off the bat the order was wrong, he gave my wife a steak el jibarito with extra onions, my wife doesn't eat red meat. He never checked on us, he was too busy on his phone and sitting down eating to realize I was trying to catch his attention to tell him the order was wrong so I physically got up to him and told him it was wrong. He didn't say sorry or anything I finished my entire meal while my wife patiently waited, You would think he would be like sorry I can give you a discount or something which regardless I wouldn't take it but make us customers feel welcomed, the minute he saw I finished the food he ran over asking if we wanted the check. I never leave reviews but to be honest yesterday was a bad experience wouldn't recommend Salud and grill anymore so disappointing read more

So today I went to brunch with some friends. They had been here before but I had not. The were raving about the chicken and waffles. Although, they spoke highly of them I went a different route. So we called to see if we could get a table for brunch and they made it seem like the place was packed and if we didn't arrive soon they would have to give the table away. When we arrived there were only 3 tables with people. It's a QR code scan for the menue. As well decided on what to get and order one of my friends ordered French fries as an appetizer but one of her main courses includes fried and our sever didn't mention that. I had the Salud Sandwich , someone ordered the French toast and two people ordered the chicken and waffles and a side of an omelette Their fries were fresh hot and nicely salted. My sandwich was basically a steak and egg sandwich cheese anions and mushrooms; served with French fries and a green salad medley. The bread was soft and fluffy and the steak and eggs were tender. There was no distinct flavors that stood out but it was tasty overall. My friend's who had the chicken and waffles enjoyed it but said the chicken was missing some flavor. Whenever I crave chicken wings, I stop by Salud Bar & Grill. Why? They're huge, extra crispy, seasoned, saucy, and fairly priced. Sweet chili is my fave. I have tried their chicken empanadas, turkey burger, yucca fries, and plantain fries. Yet, the wings are all that I will ever need and order nowadays. The ambiance is very warm, because of the wooden decor and exposed brick walls indoors while the outdoor space gives a more relaxed vibe. The customer service is pretty decent too. I visited again after a long time of now going. The food was delicious. I am glad it has not changed. We ordered empanadas, chimi sliders to share. For the meal we had pork chops and salmon. The flavor of the food was great. The pork chops came with a passion fruit sauce that was great. The restaurant does not have a liquor license so it still a beer wine and side location. The music was a combination of current top 40 and classic bops and reggaeton. Preparation of the food was fast. I've been here several times and the food NEVER fails. This time I went by myself on Friday at around 7:30pm and sat at the bar; I just missed happy hour . I ordered the Salud Classic Burger n fries w/ a Summer Ale. For lack of a better word, it was BUSSIN'! All of their delicious challah buns are sealed with their logo--it just adds a certain sexiness to the burger. Very instagram worthy! I've also come here during brunch with my now Fiancé and had the $20 60min bottomless mimosas and ate the Tres Golpes or as it says on the menu the "Three Hit Wonder". I just gotta say, it tastes better than my abuelas! Lol I wish I took a flick, but when Luis the bartender was shaking up them margaritas n poured dem up, it looked so good! It made me and another customer want a marg asap, but I was finna knock after eating that burger, so I called it a night. The place is surrounded by up cycled wood with different tones and accents, and Salud branding burned into the bar siding They're usually playing some good music and have two (maybe) 70" TVs. This is a good spot for people-watching or having a drink during happy hour. Today was my second time coming, the first was 3 weeks ago. I appreciated how good the service was from Luis (manager), I call him Saint Luis lol. He knows how to keep an eye on his tables to ensure people weren't waiting extended times for drinks, refills, or if they had questions. On my first visit, we asked a lot of questions and I ordered a lot of different entrees to the tune of 150 bucks. Today he (Luis) was really busy the place was packed. I saw two women and one lumberjack-looking guy clearing tables/running food and drinks. my friend and I noticed how they weren't organized, it was maybe 10 tables and 3 of them, yet they were sometimes standing around when ppl needed to get their check or falling over each other trying to clear tables. I think they need traditional server training. the idea that people learn on the fly is lame, especially at the price point in this place. it took over 10 minutes to get a tecate and a Bud Light; the turkey burger was pretty good. I recommend Happy Hour, nothing on their drink menu really begs to pay upwards of 14 bucks for it. The food is pretty mid to me, being a foodie. The wings are the same ones with hella breading you get from a bodega, they need to invest in good naked wings and just do a signature sauce, we know those are cheap frozen wings and you're upcharging. Same for the shrimp, they don't use tiger prawns for their entree, it's the same bag shrimp I get from Amazon Fresh, the small ones, not even medium or large shrimp. My rating is purely for Saint Luis, and the atmosphere, music, TVs, not the food. read more

Been here twice! What brought me back was their frozen sangrias! Sooo yummy! Red or white or even mixed! We were a party of 3.
