Picture a mini food court and that's pretty much what you have here. I believe there's 5 separate restaurants in which to choose. There's a burger joint, coffee shop, vegetarian place, one other, and El Coyote Mexican fare, that my daughter and I chose. You go up to the counter order your food and wait for your order to arrive at community tables. For lunch I decided on the steak and cilantro empanadas and my daughter opted for the half order of chicken mango quesadilla. Our friendly server came to our table with a smile and warned me my empanadas were blazing hot (temperature.) She added that she gave me a fork and knife so I wouldn't burn myself. Nice. The food was very good; I tried the quesadilla too. The dining area and the men's room were quite clean, food was enjoyable, & service was good. What more can you ask for when looking for a quick lunch?

    Tequila Lima Tenders

First time being in The Exchange, the set up was very unique. There is plenty of seating and a wide variety of food to choose from. I went to El coyote and ordered the Tequila Lime Tenders & Chicken and Rice soup (soup of the day). My total order came out to be around $16. Now, as a college student, that's pretty pricey for only two items. Out of the two items that I ordered, I definitely enjoyed the Tequila Lime tenders. They. Were. Amazing. The sauce that went with the tenders was incredible and the tenders were juicy and not dry. I definitely recommend them if you're a wings/tenders person. On the other hand, the soup was not so great. The chicken & rice soup was bit too salty and was also expensive for its size.

There were several Mexican restaurants to choose from and many had great Yelp reviews. After careful consideration .... Tacos El Tio was our pick and so glad it was! What a gem. And they have a full liquor license with tons of great drinks, especially if you're looking for a margarita! I opted for a nice Mandarin Jarritos soda -- i was just in the mood. They also have screens with sporting events on + an area with a full bar to hang. They have booths and areas for large tables too - so it's great for the whole family or a nice date night. My husband loved his steak fajitas and could not stop raving about them. He loved them! I ordered the chicken fajita enchilada..and it was ginormous - - you could make two meals out of it! Sorry I dont have more photos - - we were hungry! :) And I cannot forget our awesome server, Jose! He was a super nice server and loved that he was from Ecuador - - where we recently traveled! We will definitely be back. I just made your Mexican restaurant selection for Egg Harbor Township easy!

A fun time at Egg Harbor's second-best Mexican restaurant…read more If you look at Yelp, you'll see there's another Mexican restaurant that has a slightly better rating than Tacos El Tio. HOWEVER, that other place is BYOB, and if you want to have an alcoholic beverage, for example, a margarita, you'll need to bring your own tequila. Tacos El Tio is a full-service Mexican restaurant that offers well-crafted beverages alongside delicious food. Now, to the specifics... TET has lots of parking. The inside is large, clean, and offers plenty of comfortable seating. You might prefer a table or booth that's on the far side of the dining room, well away from the bar area with its speakers and any loud conversations. Our server, Julie, was attentive, efficient, and delightful. They offer a range of margaritas, from specialty concoctions to their margaritas-on-tap. The on-tap version is about half the cost of the concocted version and, in my opinion, a far better value. As for food, all we tried, all we had to try, was their Los Nachos El Tio. That was a plate, heaped high with corn tortillas, layered with nacho stuff, along with generous portions of beef, chicken, and chorizo. And, unlike the nachos offered by some places, the good stuff wasn't merely a topping; it was interspersed with chips from top to bottom. And it was enough that even though we started off hungry, and even though it was delicious, my wife and I couldn't finish it. The only thing we'll do at our next visit is leave out the chorizo; it was our least favorite of the three proteins. TLDR: Sit somewhere far from the bar, get the least expensive margaritas, order the nachos (maybe without the chorizo), and leave your tequila at home.

Well, everything has changed. I ordered the chicken fajitas with no peppers, only to be told that they coudn't accomodate that request. Apparently they don't cut their own onions & peppers anymore, it comes in as a mix. I'm sorry, but if someone orders no peppers, accomodate them. The fajitas came out not sizzling and stuck to the cast iron skillet. Chicken was lukewarm so it was sitting in the kitchen for a bit. The tortillas used to be in a basket wrapped in a napkin to keep them warm & soft. Not anymore. They came on the skillet with the lukewarm chicken & they were hard around the edges. More evidence of food just sitting around. I loved the chicken fajitas there, that place was what made me even like fajitas. Unfortunately, they have lost me as a customer. They've even changed the way the do the tortilla chips. I don't think they're homemade anymore. They taste like they were dumped out of a bag into a basket. I'm sure these decisions were made to save money. Well, in an attempt to save money, you have sacrificed the quality of the food. Horrible!!!!!

However, with…read morethat being said my retired parental units from down south had made a trip based on an amazing promotion that they found and would be staying in the Tropicana Hotel and Casino. Though I don't usually join them on these jaunts the need for some family time was present and I was able to get a ticket for the bus that leaves from my area fairly quick and easy. I'm in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and the ride is about two hours give or take depending on traffic. Once I arrived and having caught up for a few minutes we decided to get some lunch. My early start found me only having one of those Carnation Breakfast drinks on the bus. There were a few interesting options to enjoy but Mom suggested Casa Taco and I'm not one to argue since I love Mexican food myself. The downside was that they were not yet serving lunch so breakfast it was. We all kept it simple and ordered the "Two Eggs with Meat" listing on the menu. I had scrambled eggs with sausages and my folks the same but with a differently prepared egg. A steaming cup of coffee and orange juice complimented the order. The restaurant was clean and very open in terms of layout and while I didn't catch our servers name she was very friendly and brought our orders out as quick as it was possible. At the end there wasn't a scrap on my plate but like I said I was hungry. So if you find yourself in the Tropicana down in Atlantic City, NJ this is a good recommendation from me. I cannot say when or if I will be back here because I like to try different places whenever I visit somewhere but only time will tell.
