Triple Decker Quesadilla (Chicken & Brisket)
    Chris G.

HOLY MOLY!!!! This spot is a hidden gem! The Triple Decker Heaven Quesadilla is exactly what it sounds like, layers of smoky brisket, juicy chicken, and gooey cheese stacked between perfectly crisp tortillas. One bite and I knew I wasn't sharing. If you're anywhere nearby, stop what you're doing and go. Ma & Pa's is the kind of place that reminds you why small town BBQ hits different. Can't wait to come back and try more!!!

Trying Ma & Pas for the first time with my mom it was delicious

Very cute and nice spot to eat and bring a date. Outdoor seating no seating inside perfect for a day out and lots of shopping antique places around. Perfect for a fun day! Very friendly staff! My first thoughts walking into the establishment was that it was a perfect place to take a date or enjoy lunch with friends. The staff was amazing and very helpful with deciding what to get. For lunch I had a chicken burrito which had black beans, pico, chicken, and rice with sour cream all wrapped up in a beautifully wrapped burrito. I finished half of the burrito and it was absolutely delicious, I would highly recommend coming here if you want some great Mexican food. We of course had to check out the juarita's sodas they were so good I loved the strawberry and lime ones. My mom tried the brisket burrito and loved hers, as well. We both had chips with the salsa and the chips were perfectly crispy and tasted great. All in all I would say this place is amazing and probably one of the best Mexican places in the area, plus you have all these cool shops to go shop around in afterwards. You need to come here!

This place was pretty good. The service was basic - nothing bad and nothing exceptional. They gave me a handheld device to notify me when to pick up my food. No indoor seating but they have picnic style benches outside. The food was pretty good. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla - spicy. It was only spicy, due to them providing the chipotle mayo (it was okay) on the side. It also came with pico and a small bag of homemade tortilla chips with salsa. It was only $13! I ate the meal throughout the day, pretty filling for me! I'll go back for a quick bi

Great spot for Mexican food. Good specials, everything is made fresh and everything is delicious. They have some indoor seating right now in the next building over so no reason not to stop in. Super friendly service. Great size portions and prices.

Heard through the grapevine to give this place a try. Glad I did. Birria Taco's are terrific! A must try. Seating is outside but there are more than enough picnic tables. You place your order inside and they give you a buzzer for when your order is ready . Don't go too far .. it's not that long of a wait. The regular Coke is a Mexican product which is a tasty version. Will frequent whenever in the mood for a Taco. Prices are good, servings are more than fair.

This review is based on the food truck. They were at the Mahwah food truck festival. Really liked the virgin pina coladas (with 1 free refill). The tacos however, were a little bit of a let down for me. I would have preferred a corn tortilla. Brisket was fine but the toppings and sauces fell flat for me. I guess I prefer Mexican style tacos. I also wished they had birria/quesabirria tacos at the truck that day but the menu was very limited on the truck.

Burritos Bigger Than My Face Asked for recommendations, helpful staff informed me that the brisket is the best and that if I was really hungry I should get the burrito over the tacos. The brisket burrito was packed full of brisket, rice, cheese and a little pico de gallo. It also comes with a side of chips and salsa. This hit the spot. When I come next time I'm going to order the same thing but "burrito bowl" style as that may be slightly easier to handle. This burrito is massive and weighs like 5lbs. Staff were friendly, and provided great advice. Don't forget to grab a Jarritos soda.

A few of the chips with both salsas.

This is a cute place. Tiny log cabin that's take out. There was a table and chairs inside but I don't think you can sit down. They have plenty of outdoor seating. The service was friendly. They make delicious food in that little kitchen. We tried a few things. A general comment is that everything was salty but I don't cook with salt at home so eating out for me is always salty. This may not be an accurate assessment of their food. Brisket burrito - this thing was massive. The brisket was so flavorful. We upgraded to a platter to have rice and beans. The black beans were very good. Nice texture. The rice was ok. There was so much rice in the burrito so the extra isn't necessary if this is the only thing you're ordering. Chicken Birria tacos - I loved these. The sauce was delicious. I've never had Birria before so I can't compare it to anything else. Chicken quesadilla - this was a large portion. Decent balance of chicken and cheese. It was served with sour cream and pico de gallo. Chips and salsa - these are complimentary. They did ask if we wanted mild or spicy salsa and we asked for both. The spicy salsa was out of this world. Not very spicy though which was much appreciated. Another review commented that the chips were burnt. They weren't burnt (at least not by taste). They are darker than store bought chips. These taste homemade and the darker color could be from the tortillas they use. I think they were some of the best chips I've had!!!

I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla and three Birria tacos. Everything but the diced tomatoes on the side was very good. The birria had tender and juicy beef. It's consomme was flavorfully brothy with just enough fat. The quesadilla was high ratio cheese:meat. The cheese was fresh, chewy, and stringy. Just salty enough and not greasy at all. The chicken was juicy and tender. As stated above, the side of diced tomatoes tasted stale. I avoided them. I was also unclear why the dish included tortilla chips. There was nothing to dip them in (unless I missed a fresh salsa bar somewhere.

Burrito platter (with rice and beans). So much food.

Brisket anything. Trust me. Get a brisket burrito (HUUUUUGE), brisket tacos, or brisket birria. Perfectly cooked brisket and such a treat.

Well, everything has changed. I ordered the chicken fajitas with no peppers, only to be told that they coudn't accomodate that request. Apparently they don't cut their own onions & peppers anymore, it comes in as a mix. I'm sorry, but if someone orders no peppers, accomodate them. The fajitas came out not sizzling and stuck to the cast iron skillet. Chicken was lukewarm so it was sitting in the kitchen for a bit. The tortillas used to be in a basket wrapped in a napkin to keep them warm & soft. Not anymore. They came on the skillet with the lukewarm chicken & they were hard around the edges. More evidence of food just sitting around. I loved the chicken fajitas there, that place was what made me even like fajitas. Unfortunately, they have lost me as a customer. They've even changed the way the do the tortilla chips. I don't think they're homemade anymore. They taste like they were dumped out of a bag into a basket. I'm sure these decisions were made to save money. Well, in an attempt to save money, you have sacrificed the quality of the food. Horrible!!!!!
