Shred415 is by far the most fun workout class I have ever taken! My fiancé and I signed up last…read moreyear in October and we have been coming about 4/5 times a week ever since. Reasons why I love the workout: 1. Treadmills / running are incorporated! I love to run but I hate when I have to chose either weights or running. I love Shred because it keeps both! 2. Minimal thought/ experience required. You don't have to wait for equipment or think about what your next set is going to consist of because they tell you what to do the entire time! Also, if you don't know how to do something- it doesn't matter- because your instructor shows you each move before they expect you to do it. Reason why I love this location specifically: The Instructors & Staff are just the best! I truly feel like I have made some great friends here and that all of the people in this location genuinely care about you. It's so nice that I can pick my classes to go with my favorite instructors or I can take one with someone that's not in my regular "schedule" and I still get the same amazing workout and attention. Overall, the gym is clean, safe, but most importantly fun! 100% would recommend to anyone of any experience level!

For nearly $400 a month, I expected a premium fitness club--not an employee-led scavenger hunt…read more Sharon, a personal trainer at LifeTime Fitness in Frontenac, apparently believes that returning equipment to the place it belongs is just a fun suggestion. Members spend enough time working out without having to tour the entire gym looking for equipment that was left somewhere else. When I mentioned that the equipment should be put back where it came from, Sharon's professional response was to tell me to "mind your own business" and that "it doesn't matter" where the equipment is returned. Interesting philosophy. I wonder if LifeTime feels that way, too. You can almost understand when an occasional member leaves equipment lying around. But when it's an employee--someone who's literally being paid to teach good habits--it's a masterclass in hypocrisy. Maybe the next training package should include a session called "How to Return Equipment 101." It's a short class: pick it up, walk it back, and put it where you found it. For a club that markets itself as a luxury fitness experience, I'd expect trainers to set the example--not encourage members to lower their standards. Apparently, "mind your own business" is now considered customer service.

I have been an avid gym-goer for the past 6-7 years (e.g. 24 Hr Fitness, LA Fitness, UFC Gym,…read morebootcamp boutique gyms, boxing and kickboxing gyms, Golds Gym). F45 though is something else! It is HIIT, some days are cardio focused, some are resistance focused, and some will just torch your entire body. To me F45 is efficient, effective, and encourages people to live a healthy lifestyle. Efficient: Weekday classes are 45 minutes. No time wasted. I love it especially because it holds me accountable to the active and rest times. I still go to Gold's however balancing my fitness with F45 has been life changing for me. When I am at Gold's, I obviously control my own rest times so technically I could be resting too long. At F45, you are going as soon as the screen goes green. Effective: 45 minutes of intense and I mean intense movements. If you are starting out in fitness, do not worry, you can always modify any exercise. The trainers of course will help you with that. For those who have been working out for a while, this will still kick your bum, trust me! Encourages: People make the difference. You will hear others say great job! or gives someone a high five once class is over. The trainers at this location are super fun and motivating. The layout is the same as any F45. It is clean and tidy. They have wipes so you know that the equipment is sanitary. Bathrooms are very clean. They have showers, I have not used them however they are in tip top shape. There are lockers for your belongings. There is a fountain where you can fill your bottle without the mouthpiece of the bottle touching anything; it's automatic. Some places do not have this type of fountain. The layout of the classes are great, I am never shoulder to shoulder with anyone because who wants to be when you are glistening in sweat?! I love this F45 studio in Des Peres, MO and hope you have a chance to check this gym out!

However, at this St. Louis location, I've been repeatedly told not to wear my shoes to my reformer. Yesterday, I asked a staff member to email me the written policy or rulebook for this location regarding footwear, but I never received it. To be clear, I do not work out in my shoes. I wear grip socks during class. My concern is that if I need to use the restroom in the middle of class, I'm not going to walk through a public restroom in my socks and then get back on the equipment. I also don't think it's reasonable to expect members to walk all the way to the front of the studio just to retrieve their shoes every time they need to use the restroom. I'm a paying member and I don't think it's unreasonable to ask to see the written policy after being repeatedly corrected. If this location has a different footwear policy than my home studio that's completely fine, but it should be communicated clearly and provided when a paying member requests it. As a customer whose membership helps support this business and helps pay the instructors bills, I expect consistency, transparency, and respect. Also, if we're going to focus on safety and studio standards, I'd like to point out that the reformer I used yesterday had a tear that was approximately 1 1/2 inches long in the upholstery. In my opinion, equipment in that condition should be repaired or replaced immediately. It seems inconsistent to be so focused on members walking to their reformers in shoes while damaged equipment remains in use.
