Please don't. Brigette can do good work, she has the talent and experience. What she lacks is the ability to communicate. This is CRUCIAL when TATTOOING YOUR FACE. Bridgette free hands eyebrows, as opposed to measuring out spaces (like most of the microblading community). She also doesn't draw a shape to show or verify that what she's doing is what you asked for. She just goes. There are no safety nets in place to make sure what you ask for is what you're getting. Bridgette recently had a client who came in for a touch-up. Just to darken the permanent makeup she already had completed from years prior. They agreed to a touch-up, nothing to be changed, just to be touched up. This client had seen Bridgette for eyeliner previously so she trusted her. Bridgette decided during the service, WITHOUT communicating or asking the client, that she was going to change the shape of the eyebrow. Change the shape of the eyebrow. No discussion was done beforehand. No treatment to remove the previous tattoo was done beforehand. Not once did the client ask for this - she specifically asked for everything to remain the same. Yet, she walked out of the salon with a double set of eyebrows permanently tattooed on her face. Bridgette offered one removal service which did not work. She then decided to deny any and all responsibility, refused to apologize, blamed the client, and then became completely unresponsive. Again, she blamed the client. She insisted the client asked for a change in shape. Tell me, would you ask for a second set of eyebrows when you liked your first set and hadn't done anything towards removing that set? Do you interpret a touch-up appointment to mean you want to walk out with four eyebrows? This line of thinking does not make any sense to me. It blows my mind at how she has treated this client, her lack of responsibility, and her lack of professionalism. Not only is this client out the hundreds of dollars for the service (which Bridgette refuses to even partially refund), but she has to pay someone else for the laser removal of Bridgette's freehand (of the brow shape the client never wanted in the first place) AND has to pay to have the touch-up she originally asked for. Please don't go to Bridgette for your permanent makeup. read more

I just had my eyebrows re-done after 5 years of a previous tattooing done by Brigitte. Yes, after 5 years they needed to be touched up, but still looked pretty good. What I love about Brigitte is that she keeps up on all of the latest technologies and techniques. Her latest advancement is something called micro blading. It is a technique where she can actually draw each fine hair in place giving them a much more natural look than with just straight tattooing. For me she actually used a combo of both, micro blading the edges and filling in with tattoo where needed. I absolutely love them and so does everyone else. I get compliments on them even now when they are not quite fully healed. Last time she did my brows people would always tell me how much they loved my brows or wished they could have brows like mine. it pays to go to the best. She knows her stuff. read more

I purchased a special on Groupon actually two one for me and one for my girlfriend and specifically noted that it said hybrid volume on the ad when I went to book the appointment I was informed that it would be $20 extra for the specific hybrid volume that we wanted I agreed to pay booked our appointments and then screenshot it and showed the person that was texting me from the salon and in return she canceled both of our appointments. After agreeing to pay and scheduling my appointment I was letting the makeup artist know that her ad needed to be updated because if that's not what was offered that's not what she should advertise she didn't like being corrected obviously so now I'm out 100 some odd dollars because she can't take corrective advice very poor service I will never recommend this place to anyone . read more

Oh snap, what have I found?? Brigitte is absolutely amazing!! A girlfriend of mine wanted me to come with her for a couple microdermabrasion treatments -- she wanted to show off how awesome Brigitte is and was so excited about it that she even offered to pay for me. Whoa! I was reluctant at first because I kind of have an aesthetician already, but hey why not? We booked appointments and headed over together last week. Brigitte's studio is located inside a neat little complex of different beauty practitioners' spaces. She has her own little nook toward the back with a small waiting area in front. She's polite, sweet, and very pleasant. Her studio is a little cramped, but she makes great use of the space and the treatment bed is very comfortable. The microderm treatment was awesome and didn't hurt a bit. Once that was over, Brigitte took another thorough look at my skin as I lamented and whined over the congestion in my chin and the scattering of pesky milia that my other aesthetician has been unable to do anything about despite multiple peels. No problem....Brigitte is an extraction sorceress and within minutes, I was milia-no-more. After the treatment (which also included exfoliation scrubs, cleansing, and a collagen mask), my face felt SO FREAKING SOFT AND HAPPY. It was amazing. Brigitte recommended a couple of products to me which are a wee tad expensive but I was more than happy to buy after the results I already saw. She knows her stuff that's for sure. I've been following her recommendations since my visit last week and can already see the difference in my skin. It's so much happier now. I have been converted by my friend and now I think we are going to have to make our trips to Brigitte a regular thing. read more

I really like this place. I moved to San Mateo from SF last July, and I saw it while exploring downtown San Mateo one day as I was in need of a brow/lash tint desperately. I have been going there ever since. The lady who owns it, Brigitte, has been a skin care professional for a very long time, and it shows. The other girls that work there are very good too. Everyone is nice. They do a lot of skin treatments, tattooing (eyeliner, lips, brows) massage, among a myriad of other spa treatments. They have a masseuse there who is very tiny, but STRONG. I went there for a deep tissue massage and felt like a billion dollars afterwards, it was so good. Give this place a try if you haven't already. Very calming atmosphere. They do sell their products, and they will not let you leave with the wrong thing for your skin. I guarantee that. I was wondering what was wrong with my skin for a long time, and was using very expensive products that were all wrong for me. Brigitte took one look at me and said I had rosacea, and needed oil free products. She was right, and I switched over and my skin looks great. I have had facials, waxing and massages done and can honestly recommend them all! The products are gentle on the skin, especially the wax. I normally would get a rash from other places who use cheap wax...there is no cutting corners here; you get what you pay for and it's worth every penny! This is a review for a Gentlemen Facial in which I had today. Made an appt the other day and Owner texted me to confirm (which is handy). I get a facial about 1x a month and this place is truly the place to go. It's not a large room but big enough to get what you need. I paid a bit more than usual but it was so worth it. I've been going to Bridgette for two years for permanent makeup. She did my brows, top eyelids and lips. Touch ups, too. All done so well it looks natural and I barely need anytime to get ready in the morning. She always makes me feel comfortable before, during and after the procedures. She details what to expect (i.e. My brows got really dark then settled to my natural hair color and my lips got really puffy but settled to a better than natural tone). I got a Groupon for permanent make up/ eye brows. I had never done anything like it and was totally nervous. She reassured me. She was so very nice and promised I'd love them. I showed her what I wanted, and she proceeded to do her work. When it was done I was terrified. I knew immediately I had made an awful mistake. She continued to tell me I would love them - it's not the finished product- give it time. When I went home my 3 year old starting crying immediately. I was so upset. I tried to stay patient and not freak out. They were super uneven, WAY thicker then I wanted, and it completely changed my face! I talked to her on several occasions and she was so nice. I really do like her, but the job itself was AWFUL. She said for $150 she can touch them up and then I would like them. I was too afraid after the first time. After they healed one was light and one was dark. I hated looking in the mirror. I was pregnant at the time. No other places would even touch them because I was pregnant. She told me it was safe..so that made me feel strange. I have since found a new place that fixed them and I LOVE IT. Please be careful...this is your face. I just got home after a very relaxing facial from Face and Body Studio. I thought of writing this review as it warrants the amazing relaxation feeling I got with this pampering. I have been going to this place for more than 5 years now and have absolutely full trust on Brigitte (spa owner) who has been helping me keep my skin healthy and young looking. She also continously educates me on skin care products which you will never get from buying in a department store. I feel that just with the time alone that she spends in explaining a product or a service, it is already worth more than what you will pay for with the actual product. I go here too for other wonderful services such as deep tissue massage, eyebrow wax/tinting and full body exfoliation/tanning. I even got my husband into his first facial ever after noticing how my skin is compared to 7 years ago. He is now a regular with Brigitte. I've been to many spas before and have moved from one place to another until I met Brigitte. The service is outstanding and Brigitte fulfilled everything I've been looking. Don't see Bridgette for microblading your eyebrows. My eyebrows came out uneven. One is higher than the other and they are VERY dark. I went for my touch up and mentioned that and then she even made them look worse. When I said that one was higher she told me that I should go get Botox for the one brow. Even if my eyebrows were even, she doesn't even put hair like looking strokes on them. She basically colors in lines that look like solid tattooing. The don't look nature at all. The look like to uneven globs of black. Terrible. She charges a fortune and doesn't know what she is doing. I am very disappointed with her work. She doesn't even deserve 1 star, but that was the lowest I could give. read more

I had heard about this place from a co-worker so I gave it a try to get bikini ready for my trip to Miami. My first experience was great, Bridgette really knows what she is doing. It is a bit expensive but I think worth it. The second time, I wasn't very impressed, she did the bare minimum and was unhappy when I told her I had gotten a rash from a lotion she had recommended, she said it had never happened in 15 years of experience and I must've been using it wrong, meaning too soon after waxing, so I gave it another try and she was right. She really knows what she is talking about. They have the best wax I've ever seen, it doesn't irritate nor does it adhere to the skin as much as others do. read more

I recently came to the Skin and Body Studio to see Bridgitte for eyeliner tattoo on the top and the bottom. Although I have a full sleeve and several other tattoos on my body, I was nervous about getting my eyeliner tattooed. Bridgitte was very friendly and very knowledgeable. She informed me of everything that I needed to know and it definitely calmed my nerves. :) Since I am very experienced with getting tattoos and the healing process, I understood that the color may or may not stay on the first session. After the first appointment I went back in to get the liner a bit darker and thicker. The color stayed well the first time so it's all personal preference that I wanted it to be a bit more noticeable. Bridgitte is awesome! I recently came to see Briggette for my eyebrows to see if she could correct the color I had from a previous tattoo that had faded to a reddish-pink color.At the consultation she explained to me what was going on with my shape and what she was going to do. She is very knowledgeable. At the time of my appointment Bridgette applied a numbing cream that allowed me to be pain-free and just relax while I get my eyebrows fix. I think I've had the worst two experiences here. I first originally came to this Spa when I desperately needed a massage. I decided to book a 90min deep tissue massage. I had to ask my massage therapist if the people outside could keep their voices down, talk about zero relaxation. The "deep tissue" was not at all what I was used too. After the massage I left pretty unsatisfied and ripped off. I should have learned my lesson. I decided to go back again and get their "sun kissed treatment" which they exfoliate your body than apply st. tropez tanning cream all over. Since I'm a newbie to sunless tanning. I decided to try it. Let me tell you, again worst experience ever! I'd rather be pale than go back here and do this again. the girl who applied the tanning cream I had NO idea about the product! I asked her several questions about showering and how long does this tan last. Every question was, "Oh, you can ask the owner Bridget this question, I dont know"..Hmm Ok... She also was applying the cream when I was lying down, which i thought was very strange. I have never done this before and just by using common sense you would think the cream would just rub off?!? Sure enough it did! I was very unhappy when i left the treatment room, I looked like I had a bunch of dirt all over me. They have a Russian esthetican who had to finish the work (she only did my arms over) 4hrs later and $105 dollars short, I was very dissatisfied with this place. I'm not sure about the other treatments they do here but from my two experiences I will not be returning here. read more

I've taken my 13 year old son and my 17 year old daughter several times to Brigitte for an acne facial and she is terrific! She is an excellent esthetician (highly skilled in extractions which is a talent!) and extremely knowledgeable. Brigitte listens to her clients concerns and responds accordingly.
