So far, my experience going here has been good. The products are higher quality without being crazy expensive. The more natural ingredients in a lot of the skin care items is a major plus. I am closer to the face shop in Naperville, but I came here on a quest for the mint shampoo (which they don't have) and in need of a fall weather drive. When I got there I noticed a price difference between the two stores. Examples being the regular ol pearl face masks are $2.50 and in Naperville they are $1.80. The migasu cleansing oil was three dollars more expensive and the higher grade face masks that are $3.50 were like $5.50 so a little price difference here and there, but it for sure is three times the size of the one in Naperville which shares its shelves with shiseido products. The staff is very nice and friendly, and I'm pretty positive I wasn't being talked about lol. Communication is pretty good and enough to go through the sale, and she signed me up for the rewards card and gave me free samples. read more

Store itself is organized and clean. It's clearly labeled and you can kinda get a good idea of where to go depending on your needs. Customer service wise can be a hit or miss. Sometimes I get greeted with assistance and leave with samples. In most cases not so much. I love Face Shop & I'm a white Caucasian girl. Was always wondering why Koreans have such good skin & the secret is in the quality of their skincare. Have been using it for 4 years now & my skin has improved significantly. Also feel good that ingredients that they use are for the most part organic & natural, so I'm not putting any chemicals on my skin for a short term effect. I love The Face Shop products and have gotten several direct from Korea. I was so excited to go to the Face Shop in the US in the Niles, IL H-Mart. However, I was hugely disappointed. While they have every product that's available in the Korean shop, they charge triple what you'd pay in Korea. This goes beyond what you'd think the difference would be for imported goods. Holy cow, I paid $19 for the pore brush which is roughly $7 in Korea. The service there is not good either. I came in and was the only customer. The workers didn't greet me, but instead ignored me and continued putting on makeup in the mirror next to the counter, which actually blocked me from looking at the makeup tools that I wanted to buy. Very annoying. I felt like I wasn't wanted there, even though I spent over $30 for two items. I think The Face Shop corp needs to look into how this retail store is being run. read more

My friends had naver been to Hmart and wanted to stop by the face shop, so i could not stop by on our way to Downtown. Well as expected, the manager (last time she said she's the owner ,this time she said she's the manager) looked at us up and down and didn't even welcome us. I was sorry to my friends also i was also embarrassed. The lady was just busy looking at the mirror of her self, just pacing back and forth infront of the mirror, and seemed to care about korean customers only. She defiantly discriminate against her customers. This location service can be hit or miss. The other lady atleast asked if we need something. While other times not great She ingnored us while gossiping to a friend about a church member and her coworker in Korean and yes we all understand korean language . I absolutely love this place! Such cute stuff and helpful sales associates. They also full your bag with a bunch of samples of products in the store. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in Korean cosmetics. I purchased the lip tint in juicy red which was great...it has the consistency of water but the more you layer on, the darker the tint. I also purchased the Mild papaya peeling rub and so far it has worked great. It has a nice smell and it really clears my face of dirt and dead skin. The "Bebe Lip Essence" is my favorite lip balm. It makes my lips so soft and the product itself has a nice scent. The only thing is, make sure you want something before you buy it because their exchange policy isn't that great. Also make sure before you buy something- it's in the right spot...I purchased a lotion that I thought was $13 but I really paid $25 for it and with everything added up I didn't realize until I got home (I'm out of town so I couldn't return it). The product itself is nothing special. It's the rice water bright message cream. It actually irritates my skin the moment I put it on. So that's $25 down the drain. read more
