I've been to this barbershop twice, and the wait times are ridiculous! This past time there were two barbers, and I was next in line, and I waited an hour before I decided to get up and leave. If the reasoning is because they're "appointments only", then let us know. I give this place two stars...only because they apparently pay TOO much attention to how your hair looks. So if you don't mind waiting, then this is the place for you. But most people don't want to wait that long before being seen. I won't be going back. read more

Dope spot! Talented barbers that are genuine and make sure to welcome you when you walk into the door. Some people complain about the price, and I honestly did some years ago until I actually went and got cut by a lady named Jasmine (many ways to spell that name) and she hooked it up!!! Lol I didn't complain after that, but started tipping very well so I could make sure to continue to get fine sharp cuts. My barber takes her time and does a great job, which is highly needed for me since I model, and also really anyone because people treat you better if you have a fly edge up! She's a cool genuine person, and it seems like the others brothers here are as well! The Fade Shop takes appointments. Make sure to set yours up in advance, or you may wait a very long time. Make sure you and your barber honor the appointed time, and also shower if you can before you get cut lol don't bring a musty head to them folks they don't deserve that haha . I got the worst haircut I've ever received from this place. I asked for a 2-3 on the sides and a scissor trim on top. The barber left my hair so crooked and mangled on top I had to shave everything off. Be careful going here. read more

Changing my rating and feedback as I was able to work with the owner (really responsive and nice to work with on my issue). Went here after we called to see if they had openings. Owner was very welcoming when we walked in the door! There are appointments as well as walk ins which was about a 20 minute wait which was helpful as we were looking for cuts at the last minute. The lady who cut both my son's and my hair was nice and took her time where other places will rush thier cuts and the haircuts looked great afterwards. Thier prices are fair and comparable with other barber shops but something to keep in mind is that they charge $5 extra for a hard part for adults and kids and charge a credit card fee which is something that I typically haven't had to pay for in the past and took me for a surprise in my total bill. I'm sure that other barbershops do this but none that I have been to which is why I was surprised by these charges. read more

If you value your long hair and don't want it all cut off in a style you didn't ask for, DO NOT sit in the chair of the guy with glasses (I believe his name is James Doty). Not only was I in the chair for 2 HOURS almost (after an hour long wait for a kid whose hair wasn't even an inch long before sitting down) but I asked for mid drop fade, a little bit off the top, and for it to be rounded (I hadn't gotten a haircut in over a month and my hair grows fast, and long). After having arrived at around 5:30PM and leaving at almost 8:30PM (I NEEDED a cut) however, I went home with a uneven "box" fade (hair was too short near the edge up, and sticking up in certain places after picking) with barely a couple inches left at the longest, and a fade so far above my ears, it was almost at the top of my head. I would've stopped him had I known what he was doing but he only turned me towards the mirror 3 TIMES for the entire 2 hours; once at the beginning, once about halfway through (looked decent at the point; didn't know what was coming) and then at the end. I'm also quite certain he sponged my hair without me asking (I had no idea he was about to do it) to cover his mistakes. It wasn't the worst haircut I've had in the world but if you want your desires met, and done in a timely manner steer clear of this man; he does what HE thinks looks good, and not what you the patron ask for. The only reason I'm leaving a review is because this is the second time he hasn't done what I asked (the first wasn't as bad, so I relented) but this time I couldn't let myself. If you plan on going, ask for Ozell (bald guy in the chair furthest from the door) cause HE knows what he's doing (only reason this isn't a 1 star review) read more

I brought my 15 year old here as he has naturally curly hair and I've found it can be hard to find someone who understands how to cut curly hair well. Not so The Fade Shop. They did a fabulous job cutting his hair and trimming it very precicesly. Best cut he has ever had, by far!! This is OUR place for his haircuts now! Very friendly and professional service. I was very disappointed with my hair cut. I read the reviews and saw the hair cuts. I called the Frisco location to get an appointment in order to find out that the location was closed but the Plano location was open. I asked to make an appointment but the woman said I didn't need one. My husband and I drove to Plano me to get my haircut/style for our Anniversary weekend. The barber who we called for had a person in the chair with three people waiting. As I was waiting I noticed his work and was very pleased with what I was seeing. He really is amazing. After waiting for about 30 minutes the woman's chair was free. The shop was full but no one wanted her so I sat in her chair. I told her up front that I wanted to look good. During my entire experience I never saw myself in the mirror until she was done. She cut all my hair off and gave me a man's haircut with a man's edge instead of edging me to my hair line. I'm so upset because I cant take pictures with my husband on our 24th anniversary. read more

Only reason I'm giving this place a two star instead of one is because the owner Ozell tried to fix my haircut while this amateur lady barber screwed it all up. I should've requested Ozell from the beginning but it was only my second time coming so I didn't know who was the best. Long story short, I came in as a walk in and waited 2 hours for a barber to open up, it was suspicious because there was one lady who was always free to cut but no other customer was going to her, and I completely understand why, she was horrible. After two hours Ozell asked me if I was waiting on anyone in particular and I said no and sure enough he stuck me with the amateur lady who no one was going to. She messed up my fade so bad that Ozell had to cut one side himself in the middle of his other client's haircut! You can't make this stuff up. She basically took clippers and shaved off hair with no technique and no blending at all. So I left the shop angry and with half of my hair done the right way and with half of my hair just horrible, horrible fade, horrible edge up. Luckily I went to another barbershop a few days later and they fixed my hair. Won't be back to this place after that experience. Update to respond to Ozell: Actually, I did not go in there and just hop on my phone, I waited for the next available barber and your barbers were taking appointments even though I heard them saying that Saturdays are for walk ins.. either people were ahead of me or they had appointments and you clearly saw the amateur lady barber messing up my fade and even jumped in the middle of her cutting my hair to fix the whole right side of my head.. how often do two barbers work on 1 persons head. You were giving her lessons in the middle of my haircut, of course I wasn't going to be satisfied with that, you were right next to me you saw how bad that fade was. I did not communicate my dissatisfaction because I waited hours for what ended up being a horrible experience and just wanted to leave. read more

I'm new to the area and had really high hopes for this barber shop. I come for a walk-in and sit down excited to finny get a hair-cut after two months. I count how many people are ahead of me and patiently wait for my turn to get in the chair. I'm next up to get cut and a older guy walks in and is able to get a cut before me after I had been waiting for 1 1/2 hours. I felt very offended and over-looked after waiting for a long time and to be passed up. I talked to the barber and he talked to me in a annoyed tone compared to how he was talking to other customers. I felt very unwanted and my high spirits for this place were crushed. I left worried on how I was going to get a hair-cut. Ozell cut my hair today and did a great job. Barbers and guests are friendly. Also did some more research on the shop and found out Ozell was former military, too. Had an appointment with J and he never showed up and completely wasted my time along with the lady next to me that also had an appointment with him. Nobody knew if he was even gonna come in or anything. Some of us have things to do and can't spend it waiting over an hour for someone not to show up, it's called being professional. If you can't make it to work it would be professional to give your clients a call or someone at the shop saying you won't make it in. There's plenty of shops around the area that are professional and will honor appointments. Won't ever come back here again. Response to the owner: i told the lady as soon as I walked in that I had an appt with Jay and she said he's not here yet, if I have an appt with someone why would I get my haircut with someone else? My husband went to Jay yesterday evening for the first time. Thank you Sir!! This is the best haircut he has ever had!! Kudos to your talent and precision!! Hubby is very picky and has only had about 5 barbers cut his hair in his entire life. He has a straight/wavy hair texture and most barbers cannot cut him properly without messing up his wave pattern or do a razor edge up. No problem for Jay!! Shop was clean and had a pleasant vibe.
