Had an early Mother's Day lunch at JB's Bar n Grill and it was wonderful from start to finish. The food was excellent, Shelia our server was warm and attentive, and the prices were reasonable. All the moms were treated to a complimentary dessert, which was such a thoughtful touch. The view from the patio is absolutely spectacular overlooking the golf course, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. Tracey came out to greet guests personally and shared that they will be having line dancing on Thursdays, music bingo on Fridays, and live music every Saturday. Dinner was a disappointment. Music was good but much too crowded. Possible fire code violation. Nice place in the summer out on the patio.

Well, we walked in on a Saturday night at 6:30 and saw it was busy with some sort of party in a tent. However, the restaurant area near the bar was empty so we sat down. Bartender and waitstaff did look our way but made no contact. We figured we had to give them time because of the party. We waited and talked. We waited more and wondered why no one is reaching out to us. We talked about what beers we could see on tap and we waited for contact. We talked about the price of gas and we waited. We had our wedding at JB's and we were so pleased! Tracy and Mark were extremely responsive, and helped us iron out food allergies, weather issues, and general issues. I really was looking forward to trying their steak night special on weds. This particular night was an 8 oz filet with potatoes and asparagus. I am not fond of asparagus and asked if their was a sub veg. I was told no. After a very long wait (for which i was comped a second wine) I was told they were out of asparagus and I was getting corn. OK..steaks arrived they were covered in mushrooms (never mentioned that) Hubby is allergic so his steak had to go back to be redone. I hate eating while he waits. The replacement came out with a blob of butter on it..He hates butter but at this point he wiped off and ate it..Corn also covered in butter so I ended up eating it. All in all not a great dinner for him.. To me steaks were good and I am ok with mushrooms and butter but it would be good to ask people or let them know what will be put on their steak. Can save a lot of issues. I was happy with my meal and my comped wine but I will not get Hubby back there again. Oh well. They do have good specials and drinks read more

Played a 9 hole round at James Baird with friends this afternoon. We stopped into JB's at the clubhouse after our round for drinks and dinner. Our server, DeeDee was pleasant and cheerful, seated us right away and took our drink order. Drinks were delivered quickly and she explained the specials and dinner menu( just stated serving full dinner options). All of our dinners were delivered hot and we're delicious. The owner / Head chef Mark came out to our table , introduced himself and asked how we enjoyed our meals. We all stated our delight with our choices and he was pleased with our comments. If you are looking for a new place for lunch , dinner or just a beverage and appetizers, I highly suggest JB's at James Baird State Park. Absolutely great food, great atmosphere, great service. You can't ask for anything more. Whether or not your playing golf, or just want to take in a beautiful sunset, JB Bar and Grill is an oasis. Their pub wrab is addictive, their burgers are outstanding, and their dinners are first class. Don't let a few bad reviews dissuade you;. I've never had a bad experience here, ever, and I come here a lot and I'm very picky about service and food. I couldn't recommend this place more. read more

We arrived at 5:50pm. The waitress came over and we order a Pinot Noir and a Cabernet Sauvignon. It took 15 minutes to get the wine and they brought a Pinot Grigio instead of the Pinot Noir. We told the waitress that she brought the wrong wine. She swapped wines for me and my wife. I said we ordered a Pinot Noir and you brought a Pinot Grigio. She said I don't understand. I said Pinot Noir is a Red wine. She said I brought you a red wine, I said they are both supposed to be red. She goes back to bar and reads the menu and then brings another Cabernet Sauvignon. I asked to see the manager. A guy comes out of the kitchen, and he has an attitude. He says what happen, I explained what happen and he said let me talk to my waitress. He goes back in the kitchen and doesn't back out. We told the waitress that we are leaving, she says oh were going to comp the wine. I said no thanks. read more

The food here is average to say the least. My friend and I have golfed here three times in the last three weeks, each time we went into the bar restaurant area after golf between seven and 8:30 PM. The first time there was a band playing, and it was so loud you couldn't hear each other talking and we were told we can only have fried food. The second time we finished our round around 7:30 PM and again went to the restaurant bar area for drinks and food. At that time we were told there is nothing but appetizers. There was a big party going on in the tent, and there was also music on the patio . Again, we are only able to have appetizers. For this occasion we were told that the cook was fired or quit. My first thought was, he was overwhelmed with the party in the 10 and all the people on the patio, listening to the music, but it made me wonder because I do know people that I've worked there and left because of the attitude and personality, and the way he treated people. This last time we were there on Saturday and finished our round of golf between eight and 8:30 PM. We went to the bar and ordered drinks from the bartender named Kayla, she's a real sweetheart and knows how to make it really good b Bay breez with vodka. we were told we could not put a food order in because the kitchen was backed up, so we waited 20 or 30 minutes, had our drinks and then attempted to put our order in which was wings, at that time I asked Kayla if I can order seafood dish that they had. The paper in the menu said it was available until closing. This was approximately 845 or 8:50 PM. I was told the kitchen is taking no more orders. I pointed out to the print that was on the paper that said it was available until closing. She apologized profusely, stating there was nothing she can do. I asked her who the owner was, and she told me his name was Mark. So my question to you would be have a menu, and on that menu you have food available till closing but if somebody orders off the menu other than appetizers it's not available , this lent me to believe everything. The previous employees that I know have left there and why they left is true. JB has come along way from the first year that they took over the restaurant bar area, but until the management changes their attitude, I don't see This establishment succeeding.. My impressions are #1management has to change how they treat their employees and get their act together in the kitchen. #2 If the owner/ cook wants to be done in the kitchen by six or seven then they should state that on the menu, #3 The cook / owner should review the menu, check and see what they have in the kitchen to accommodate all items on the menu, and make the waitresses or bartender aware of what they have and don't have. #4 Mark, if you can't handle the heat in the kitchen or understand how to run a kitchen or restaurant you should not be in this business. Your lack of ordering and having all food on the menu is hurting the bartenders tips and the waitresses tips. Oh, yeah, providing you can retain them because of your unprofessional Demeanor and lack of the skills to be successful in this business. thank y for the third unpleasant experience in JB's!
