Cauliflower wings with buffalo sauce - THE BEST!

THIS PLACE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING!!!!!! Omg! How did I not know about this sooner!? I've been missing out for years! First of all there's enough options for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegan alike. And there are so many options on the menu that you won't even know where to start! We ordered the cauliflower wings, fried pickles, french fries, 2 personal pizzas, the shepherds pie, 2 sushi rolls, and fried Oreos and fried dough with Nutella - WOW. EVERYTHING was filled with flavor and cooked to perfection!!! And for all of that, the bill only came up to $107! All of us were drooling over our orders and raving about this place. How have they not been picked up by food network yet? Idk! But do yourself a favor and buy everything on the menu, you won't be sorry! Also the service was stellar, everyone was so nice and the live music really set the mood. This was the Best night I've had in a long time, thank you so much. We will certainly be back!! It's worth an hour hike to come out here easy :)

The food was never good. I tried it twice & the only thing I liked was the brussel sprouts, go figure.

Good food varied menu and fun lively vibe. We loved the clam pizza and mushroom pizza. Sushi is also fresh.

Best oysters I've had in a long time, sweet and briny and extraordinary. For happy hour, oysters are $2 at the bar. And there are wine and cocktail specials too. Occasionally a celebrity walks through this town and restaurants do cater to a higher end clientele so that tricks some people into thinking this town has a restaurant scene (including the higher end clientele) True foodies and individuals that enjoy high-end dining don't go to Millbrook and Canoe Hill definitely won't change that. It's a run of the mill restaurant with average service that has a "curated menu" with "locally sourced ingredients" and a "specially selected wine menu" it also has the usual uninspired modern farmhouse aesthetic and of course a Chef that gets great reviews and accolades from local magazines ....that just coincidentally he advertises in. I won't waste my time or your time getting into the meal I had here cause it was so unimpressively dull and flavorless. But to sum it up -- Don't waste your time, money or night out.

We are…read morefrom NYC, and have eaten at some of the "top" Greek restaurants around--House of Stefas surpasses all of them. We came here on a whim after spending the day in the area and we are already talking about coming back to the area, just to eat here. The front of the restaurant could not be prettier, with beautiful decor and torches just beckoning you in. We were immediately greeted by the friendliest hostess and seated in one of their beautiful dining rooms. Their cocktail menu is not something to pass on! I saw that they had an espresso martini on the menu and I asked if they could make it a decaf (if not I gave our server a plan b cocktail). Not only did they deliver (a delicious) decaf espresso martini but they were so enthusiastic about all of their coffee choices! My husband had the Gucci 52 (I of course had a couple of sips) and it was superb. Better than many of the cocktails I have had in several NYC Greek restaurants and so much more creative! Now for the food! We shared the sweet potato hummus, duck kokkinisto and grape leaves stuffed with tuna. I have never seen any of those items on any Greek menu before and duck is one of my favorites! They were all 10/10. The flavors could not be beat and the portions and presentation were all so generous and thoughtful. After experiencing their cocktails and dinner we knew we couldn't skimp on dessert. We shared the custard stuffed phyllo and OH MY GOSH. If you're too full for dessert, make room! Lastly but certainly not least, the servers deserve their own paragraph. We were simply blown away by the professionalism, kindness and passion from our server and other server's we interacted with. We felt so taken care of. We were given our bag of leftovers at the very end of our meal, which is such a nice touch. This level of service is not something you see everyday. Professional but warm, not stuck up, efficient but does not make you feel rushed. This area is worth visiting if only to come here! Thank you for making our experience so memorable.

Babis was fantastic: personable, fun, attentive, and his recommendations were spot on. The meal was outstanding. The tender baby calamari was delicious, the pita bread was unbelievably light and cloud-like, and paired perfectly with the authentic tzatziki. Our short ribs and halibut were both exceptional. They also have a wonderful selection of creative non-alcoholic cocktails (pictured), and even the signature House of Stefas ice cubes were a fun detail. We finished with an espresso and cappuccino.. the perfect ending. Another fun surprise: the imported swan faucets in the restrooms. They're a rare and memorable touch. We will definitely be back.

Does Martha Stewart have mid taste?…read more The renowned homemaker and chef extraordinaire ranks Stissing House as her favorite restaurant, but when my husband and I visited, we thought the food was just ok. While I understand the concept behind their cuisine - traditional American flavors pared down to its truest form - I found the food to be, for a lack of better word, bland. Sure, this boils down to preference (I enjoy complex flavors with lots of seasoning), but it's hard for me to sing its praises when the chicken tasted like chicken with a pinch of salt, the pork tasted like pork with a pinch of salt, and the vegetables tasted like vegetables with, you guessed it, a pinch of salt. That's the point, I suppose, but it's a point my taste buds don't particularly agree with. That's not to say the quality and the craft was not at its best. I'll give it to them: the chicken was juicy, the pork skin crisp, the vegetables cooked to perfection (not overcooked, not too al dente, but just right). The biggest disappointment was the sesame puffs with ice cream. Seeing this on the menu, I thought, "Great, a complex flavor!" but was let down at first bite when I found that, alas, I couldn't taste the sesame at all. It tasted like a regular ol' ice cream puff slathered in too-dark caramel. It would have been better paired with black sesame ice cream, but I fear it wouldn't fit their menu's flavor profile. I'm not discouraging people from coming here. By all means, try it! It's a charming location, the food is well prepared, the ingredients premium. It just didn't wow me, and that's perfectly alright.

The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. The winter citrus salad is a must try, and the sticky toffee sundae was the perfect way to end the meal.
