You would think all the great cocktail bars would be in the heart of the city, but the Clear Lake area has some major contenders. Getting to this area from Pearland is much easier than heading into Houston so I was more than happy to come here. I've been here a couple of times and the most recent visit brought me and a party bus full of friends here on a Saturday night. The place gets busy but parking hasn't been an issue on any of my visits. It's a narrow bar that may seem tight, but it keeps going towards the back with more seating as well as a spacious patio. Customer service is always great and the bartenders know their stuff here. They have a pretty extensive drink menu here and there is something for everyone's preferences. They have a long list of cocktails and they can make you anything you want as well. The staff are experts here. They also have an impressive bourbon collections with about 200 kinds to choose from. Along with their cocktails, they have a long list of martinis. I love a good martini and here they have so many options. You can't go wrong with my favorite espresso martini, but the one that wowed me here was the Cucumber Patch. Cucumber flavor profile is not typically something I seek out, but I was in the mood for something refreshing and this was suggested to me. Get it and thank me later. As far as food goes, they have a separate BBQ business on site that sells some food. Don't sleep on the Bay Area if you are looking for a nice cocktail. This place will quickly be one of your favorites. I will surely be back. read more

The Davenport Lounge Clear Lake has probably been there for years, and I somehow just now decided to check it out. I've driven by a countless number of times, and you'd never really know it's there. But walking in, you immediately get that local dive bar kinda vibe in the best way possible. I met up with some friends here for a chill drink after work, and to our surprise it was karaoke night! I have to applaud the regulars here because they can really SING! But don't be shy if you can't, they were welcome to everyone going up for a song. As far as drinks go, I had the Alimony. I was sold on it because it's gin, guava juice and elderflower liquor. Balanced, not too sweet, and had a little bit of sparkling effervescence. Pair that with a shot or a beer, and we were having a great time catching up with old friends. I don't remember our bartender's name, but she gave us great service. This was a post UYE drink meet-up. The group was looking for a place that was open at the time. This was it. Boy, I'm glad we did. It was a great! Disclaimer: If you have ever been to Davenports in Houston, this is NOT the same, very different demographic/dynamic. IYKYK Vibe is laid back, chill. Note the regulars. Patio is nice, has games, etc. It is actually good for groups. Our large group was easily accommodated without a resy. Drinks- first drink, Violet Femme,gin based. I fell in love, bright and just the right kind of sweet, and thus I was hooked for this bar. The next drink was St. Eddy, meh, and I love grapefruit! He subbed the vodka for gin, but I couldn't get into it, sad. Last drink, Bartender Clay created for me. I was looking for a lavender Basil Lemon drop. He didn't have the first two ingredients, so he made it a Rosemary Lemon drop, I was sold again. Great experience, if I am in the area, would come back! read more

My friend and I found ourselves here yesterday after discovering that Rosewater was closed for patio reconstruction. I have had The Davenport bookmarked for years, and am not sure what took me so long to come check this place out. The Davenport is super chill with a relatively diverse crowd. I was digging the 70s décor. There was a variety of ages in there, but definitely seemed like it draws in an older crowd. They were pretty busy last night, but the bartenders were on it. The bartender that helped us was so good. She was multitasking like a boss! They have paper menus as well as QR codes at various tables to scan. They don't have any servers to bring drinks; you have to order at the bar. They have a huge selection of martinis, cocktails, and shots. My friend had the Smokey Sunset which is a Mezcal cocktail. She really enjoyed it. I had the Cucumber Patch martini with Tajin. Y'all! This drink gave me life! It was so good and strong! After my first one, I wanted to try a different drink, but I'm a creature of habit. I love cucumber drinks and this one was fantastic!! The bartender filled the glass to the brim and it was a bit of a balancing act to bring it back to the table without spilling it (I went 1 for 2 on not spilling the drink lol). They had a corn-hole tournament and karaoke in the back. I'm not sure how often they do the corn-hole tourney, but browsing their IG page, it looks like they do have weekly events like karaoke and anime night (every Thursday). The parking lot is small. Some spaces are reserved for the sleep clinic and there are a couple of spots for the daquiri place so pay attention to where you park. There were people parked on the side street as well as in the back and side of the building in the grass. If you need to get creative with parking, do it. Then get yourself the Cucumber Patch martini and thank me later. read more

This is such a cute little neighborhood dive bar! Got to meet the owner who was very friendly as we talked about different whiskeys and bourbons. Amazing selection if you want to try a few different things. Clay was our bartender, and I told him I wanted something with vodka and not too sweet, and what he made me, I couldn't tell you, but it was delightful! I can't believe I am just now reviewing one of my favorite places (and the absolute best for martinis in Clear Lake)! I have been coming here for nearly 10 years. I've been to the Richmond location too, but Clear Lake is my favorite and close to home. The martinis are always delicious and STRONG (at least 2 shots per drink or more). My favorite is the grasshopper. It's not listed on the menu anymore, but it's like an ande's mint with a punch. ;-) All of the bartenders have been amazing over the years, but most recently Katie and Laken are the bomb! Davenport is a fun spot to get together with friends or are a lovely after dinner date. I recommend having food on your stomach first, as I said before the drinks are strong and delicious! Thanks for continuing to be one of my favorite spots in Houston and definitely my fave in Clear Lake. :) read more

used to frequent the original location near Richmond/greenbriar quite often back in the early 2000's...always loved going there today, may 18, 2017 on my way back from houston [i live in galveston] i decided to stop in for a nightcap. it's in a little strip center...thursday night about 930p. it was semi busy. the female bartender was spectacular. cant think of her name. i ordered the Persephone's Sin martini---but, of course...Zeus's daughter --the QUEEN of the underworld!! anyho, it was DELISH made w/pomegranite vodka. watermelon schnapps, chamboard and sweet & sour tonight was the twenty-somethings. [different than the norm of what other YELPer's have said it was] but, hey...i dont meet a stranger! and, like that, i met 4 locals from the neighborhood and had a great time. I have been to this place a thousand times, but this past time was absolutely horrendous. When I walked in the bouncer didn't let me in after showing my ID & passport, he continued to tell me he was going to call the police when I showed a picture of my passport as second identification since he didn't believe my ID was real, I asked if a manager was present (as I've been there a hundred + times and they said no manager was on duty). I will definitely be coming back to tell the owner/manager/whoever (whenever he/she is "available") the extremely insane service I got as welll as thI video I took of them telling me to get the f*k out. This is place is terrible other than it's the only bar that stays open after 12 on clear lake city I don't have a good thing to say about it. Seems like this place is full of two types of people. One the local drunk who is here directly after work or two drunk people stopping for one last drink on their way home. Nothing inviting about this place. Used to have more of lounge vibe with local art and a hang out type feel. Now it's loud always smells like smoke as all the smokers sit out behind the back door or stand in front of the door. The service is slow always under staffed and very rude. Seen quite a few fights here even though it's mostly an older crowd. No food here so just a loud smelly place with over served patrons. It's not a sports bar two tiny tvs the size of a computer monitor. It's not a lounge most of the tables are bar table other than a tiny couch that's been there for 15 years probably never been cleaned. All the local art they used to display is now stuff from the at home store. I'm so confused on how this place stays open other than a lack of options on clear lake city boulevard. Sure I will be back but probably not by choice. read more
