I visited the Farm Cafe for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. It is located in the corner of a bookstore. The cafe is set up in an L-shape. You order at the counter and they bring food to your table. The Farm Cafe specializes in healthy, vegan food. I personally am not vegetarian or vegan, but I thought the menu items that my girlfriend had were quite good. The best way I can describe it is very wholesome. They feature a nice selection of sandwiches, salads, and smoothies.

It took me a few minutes to find as they are located in the book store... which means plenty of Free parking!!!! I got the lavender lemonade which was fabulous!! I also got a quinoa bowel with sweet potatoes and avocado Picture didn't happen as it smelled divine so I dove right in. It tasted even better than it smelled! So happy I found this place! Can't wait to be back and try the cucumber lemonade!!

Cute little cafe inside a book shop, this place was unassuming but packed a big surprise. The food was amazing. My partner and I ordered the vegan poutine special and vegan Reuben sandwich, which both came with Home made "cheese sauce" and they were especially tasty! There's a lot of options for vegans and/gluten-free folks as well as a variety of good cold and hot drinks. I got a delicious iced coffee and she got the lavender lemonade, both of which were thoroughly enjoyed. Check out the desserts while you're here too! Many vegan and gluten-free chocolates and pastries. Highly recommended!

I know the owners because they bring their truck to NHVegFest. I couldn't wait to visit their restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised to find it inside of the toadstool bookstore. Ordered the ruben and lemonade. I don't like rye bread so I had it on sour dough bread. It was very good. I loved the dressing and the sour kraut. The lemonade was flavored with lavender. It was absolutely amazing. I skipped the dessert because I wasn't really in the mood.

Wow...hidden GEM stopped here passing through Keene, NH and we are certainly not regretting it. Fresh, local, veggie and vegan. Meat eaters will not be disappointed in their non-meat takes on traditional dishes (e.g., the "Rubes" is their Rueben with organic grilled tempeh and vegan dressing instead of corned beef and Russian). I got the Veggie of the Sea, the Farm Cafe's version of a tuna melt. Bread could not have been more perfectly toasted. My darlin' got the Buffa-flower Salad, cauliflower tossed in Buffalo sauce and vegan cashew ranch -- holy smokes. Don't hesitate on the bookstore front if you walk in that entrance. This joint is legit!

Vegan review: We were on a motorcycle trip via back roads from Lake George to Cape Cod, decided to grab lunch in Keene along the way. When we pulled up vegan on yelp, a country life popped up. I hadn't seen a country life in years but sadly it wasn't open that day. So we looked at other place with great reviews. This little spot is tucked in the corner of a book store. It's a strange little set up and reminds of what veggie restaurants were like 10-15 years ago. Based on the suggestion of Amy (who I guess is one of the owners), I got the Rueben. Now, there is NOTHING healthy about this thing, it was just carbs, oil and fake cheese, but it was damn good. And it warmed me up which I needed that day. My friend got the quesadilla, which he liked. I also got a truffle and the peanut butter chocolate oat 'cookie'. The truffle was dry and kind of sucked, just skip it but the cookie, that cookie was GREAT! I should have bought 10 more. If you're passing through, definitely check this place out. It seems to be a small mom and pop, and who doesn't want to support that.

Yup! You gotta go. This unconsciously hip cafe is tucked away in the cozy front corner of the new toadstool bookstore (which, I'm happy to say for a locally owned bookstore is happily buzzing with activity). Service is like eating at your best friends house, seriously. Awesome, tasty and creative vegetarian and vegan options (plus tuna salad). Unusual juices, sodas and sweets to boot. They also have a frequently changing and surprisingly tempting specials list. Do it!

Always delicious, interesting varieties of grilled cheeses. Iced chai was also delicious. Quality local organic food right in Keene!

This review is for my wife, who doesn't go on Yelp. . . . But I do…read more This is her review. Service, Service, Service! I tried them twice, bad both times. Day One, I went in and ordered a bacon egg & cheese sandwich. I asked if I could substitute avocado for the cheese. They said no as the avocado is more expensive. I get it, no big deal. I ask for a bacon egg sandwich (no cheese). They take my order along with my coffee and such and I go about my business. I go back to my Air bnb and lo and behold it's an egg only sandwich. I chalk it up to talking about avocados more than I do their listening skills and I move on. Day Two, I go in to give them a second chance. I order a Harvest Bowl & 2 coffees. I pay in cash. I get my cups, fill up my coffees and wait. After a few minutes, I realize that several people have come in, ordered, served and left in front of me. I go up to the counter and ask about my order and find out it was never put in. Because I paid in cash there was no trail. It's now well over 20 minutes and the person who took my order would not even lift her head to acknowledge that she served me. I call someone else over and ask about what to do and they treat me like I'm looking for a free meal. (FYI, visually I am a successful older female). Once they retook my order I quickly went next door to the jewelry shop as I had some time sensitive business there. When I returned, bowl still not ready, but was on the stove. While I was waiting I asked to speak with the manager. Suddenly nobody wanted to be the manager. Once someone came forward, I asked if this type of service was normal. I also asked if they compensate customers who have been ignored. He THEN HAD THE NERVE TO SAY, 'WELL, YOU'RE GETTING THE BOWL FOR FREE'! There were places I wanted him to put said compensation. Never, Never, NEVER say words like that to any customer. The sad part, the food is good. The place is cute. The customer service takes all that away and more. Caitlin, you have a good thing. Don't let your employees ruin it. When I mentioned your business in the jewelry store, they avoid your place too for the same reason.

Customer service was disrespectful and inattentive to detail…read more The food itself was delisious.
