I found this place on our way to Burlington. This is the best Breakfast I have tested in a very long time Enjoy the farm fresh special salad, cheese Omelette and make sure to order more veggies to your omelette. Staff are lovely and the outside seating is beautiful.

Stopped in for lunch for the first time. The curb appeal is so inviting in this part of Vermont, pumpkins and great garden array. The building is divided between the cafe and a farmers market. The breeze way between the two main businesses offers table and chairs with a great view of a great backyard. The yard behind the building has several tables and chairs for dinners to enjoy their cafe favs. It also has a pond and great atmosphere. The market offered many types of produce and very reasonable prices. There were several people making purchases while we enjoyed our food. For the food. We ordered the Loco Roasted chicken sandwich on multigrain with cucumber, tomato, lettuce, onion, sprouts, and pickle. The sandwich was very flavorful, the chicken moist and cut perfectly for a sandwich. Bill ordered the ham sandwich in white, which he enjoyed very much. To wash the sandwiches down, we both enjoyed their lemonade. I am not sure if the lemonade is homemade or a mix, but it was tasty. This a great little spot to grab a nice lunch in a great atmosphere. Or take it to go. My only disappointment was in the mustard options, yellow only. I expected a venue with such fresh ingredients to have a good brown or artisan mustard, but hey, I like my mustard so you may not take away a star for that.

Friendly staff, prompt service, great food. There's not much more you can ask for from a place like this. Smalltown vibe with high caliber flavors. Compliments from a traveler passing by, I'd love to eat here again.

Vegan breakfast, done right. I order a la carte: side of home fries no butter with spinach, mushrooms and garlic added in. Dry English muffin with avocado and sprouts on the side. I use the avocado spread on the english muffin. Also, their homemade jam is perfect- you should try it. This cafe takes pride in what they do, it is evident in their customer service and plating (the food is always garnished and appealing to the eye). It is hard to find a restaurant with vegan options- I was delighted when this restaurant exceeded my expectations and I have become a regular. They have consistent service and quality.

Great accommodating service!! We ordered a lot and they were more than happy to serve us and make sure we were satisfied. They wear masks and gloves to make customers feel safe during COVID-19. Not to mention, The food was amazing! Best BLT I've ever had! Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here all of the time! Thank you Cafe Loco!

All their pancakes are amazing, even though with my sodium issue I only get a taste of my husband's. My ole favorites were Pumpkin and their classic Sugar & Spice with the perfect amount of sweetness and spice mix. I wish they would serve saltless grits! That would make this girl happy! I only eat a couple of the potatoes, they are very tasty however salt is used or the rest of you wouldn't be eating them....am I right! Of course, my eggs were cooked perfectly! I keep forgetting you have ice cream! They also have many local theme items for sale and don't forget to not head home with Vermont's local Maple Syrup! If you came in March you will get to see the sap being processed into syrup!

We finally decided to try out S&S and I found it good, but not worth the 5 stars everyone gives it pancakes = well cooked, round, pretty standard. don't get 4 pancakes unless you want be in a pancake induced coma. also, they put a literal small ice cream scoop size of butter on the pancakes. Only IHOP does that and it's way too much butter. If you are eating all of that butter, you might need an extra dose of lipitor. Toast = kind of boring S&S pancakes = kind of tasted like pancakes with cinnamon sprinkled on top. Home fries = those were good I was there with two 16-year olds who both thought the food was "mid". I did see a small girl sitting with plate in front of her that had a waffle with ice cream and whipped cream piled so high, that it was almost as tall as her. Her eyes were huge and she was trying to figure out where to start. That waffle looked pretty good and as I passed the table, her dad was leaning in to "help out and keep the plate clean". They sell a lot of baseball hats and t-shirts.

The café had a lively, welcoming vibe -- in fact, the only seat available was at a table already occupied by another guest, who graciously invited me to share. That small moment really set the tone. The hostess was amazing -- friendly, warm, and genuinely accommodating. I ordered the curry chicken salad wrap, which was absolutely delicious -- flavorful, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The pesto macaroni salad on the side was just as impressive. Before leaving, I picked up a ginger scone to go. Later that evening in my Burlington hotel, I made a cup of tea and enjoyed that scone -- and it was fantastic. Moist, flavorful, and the perfect end to a travel day. Moondog Café isn't just good food -- it's the kind of place that makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. I would absolutely stop again.

And other folks who were eating seemed to be enjoying themselves. So maybe the lesson is: Don't order the tuna fish sandwich. It was borderline inedible. I had to ask for extra mayo as it was so dry. And the salad greens that accompanied the sandwich looked days old and had no dressing. Hopefully this was just a situation where I ordered the worst thing on the menu, but I'm not likely to return.

What you'd hope for in an updated rustic old Vermont building. 2. The service has been excellent on both visits, with the caveat that breakfast is busy and the food took a long time to arrive. 3. Breakfast was solid. Not transcendent but solid eggs and toast and home fries and coffee and everybody seemed happy. Room for improvement 1. For Putney Vermont - get some decent vegan and vegetarian options. 2. The veggie burger was bean based, mushie old-school 70's style. Fell apart as soon as you picked it up. 3. The cheeseburger was good. It's just that for $18 you could show a little more attention to detail. A greenish slice of winter tomato. A single leaf of iceberg lettuce. 2 ringlets off an onion slice. And no pickle. 4. The fries that came with it had to be sent back to be cooked longer. And there was a big puddle of oil on the plate once I slid the par-cooked fries onto a side dish. The server was lovely about it and they came back fast and cooked through. But my guess is the oil wasn't hot enough hence the grease puddle. 5. The chicken orzo soup was meh. I don't try it. Brought it home for sick family member. And sorry but my personal pet peeve - the pre-calculated tip options were 20,22,25% and all calculated on top of the sales tax. Understand that it has gotten VERY expensive to go out for a burger for your average local. So putting a little more attention into it would be greatly appreciated. All the best, and thank you.
