In 2010, I told myself less stress, more time for the things I love. So, grocery shopping and…read moreweekday cooking was at the end of a long list that was just never getting done...In steps, Dinner Afare. The idea of having a meal ready in a few minutes after getting home, was too good to be true. So, here is the skinny: First, they have delivery, which shaves off more time off my day, and that is great. Now on to the food. The Food. Its' good. Not great, think weekday pork, chicken and flank steak. The portions are generous, there is a lot of variety and I found myself making meals, I wouldn't typically make - shrimp and grits are great and easy. The cost is really reasonable and I have 12 meals available in the freezer, for me to defrost and make within 30 minutes of getting home. It works well, it is not gourmet, but for great weekday meals, this is perfect.

The food really isn't very good. Of the almost 20 meals we've tried, we would only maybe consider…read moreordering 2-3 again. The rest were bland or salty or just plain old awful. I think this place is extremely pricey for what you get. Honestly, you could do a lot better just buying a prepared item at the grocery store. For example, a small seasoned pork tenderloin works out to about $15 at the Dinner A'Fare: you could easily buy a seasoned pork tenderloin at the grocery store for about $7-8. If you're thinking "well, I'm paying extra because it's made from scratch" - wrong! If you read the ingredients, they go something like this: "pork tenderloin, BBQ sauce, salt." I have no proof, but I'm guessing that "BBQ sauce" simply means that an employee cracked open a bottle of pre-made BBQ sauce; they did not cook the sauce from scratch. Portions are small. And, for most meals, you really only get the protein. So this really isn't much of a timesaver, because you still have to buy and cook all of your sides. On the positive, the place is clean.

Delightful savory and sweet handpies that come fresh or frozen…read more I was pleasantly surprised by handpies, which have a good amount of filling. Of the savory ones, I liked the Italian, chicken pot pie, and mushroom and potato, though nothing has been bad. Of the sweet ones, I liked the pumpkin and chocolate but the lemon and apple were also excellent. They also switch up the varieties every one in awhile. They sell frozen ones at 3 in a pack for $12 and a box of assorted mini sweet pies for $14. You can also order them fresh and they will heat up for you. They also sell quiche. It would be nice if there was a deal for buying in bulk, but it's certainly a nice snack or meal.

Why get 1 hand pie when you can get 3 hand pies ... rrrright? Well, that's exactly what happened…read morewhen I stopped by AZ Food Crafters! The man at the counter who was taking my order was patient and gave me a rundown of the hand pies they offer despite my arrival of only about 10 minutes before closing. They offer everything either served warmed, ready-to-eat, or frozen to take them home and re-heat at your convenience. Of the warmed, ready-to-eat hand pies they had remaining, I decided to get the Apple & the Chocolate Cream. Then I remembered that I could get a free one with a Yelp check-in so I got the Tangerine hand pie as well. As expected, I liked the Chocolate Cream the best. The filling was made of dark chocolate but it wasn't bitter and it was also soft and fluffy. Yum! Apple was also great. It was a bit tart, but it was the perfect sweetness so it made for a great treat. I liked the Tangerine the least of the three but it was still really good! It was very similar to the traditional lemon hand pie, but not tart at all ... great for this time of the year. I can't wait to go back soon to try their savory hand pies .. particularly the Chicken Pot Pie! Definitely will be back & will recommend this place to others.

My partner and I have been using Nature's purpose for 7 months and I'll tell you why I love it. Natures purpose has been the first service that I have had absolutely no issues with. First, they don't require a subscription, I simply order the meals I want each week and that's what I get. Such a simple concept, yet hardly anyone does it. Second, since they're local the food is always a fresh and has good quality ingredients. Third, the website actually gives you all the nutrition information you need. I tried so many places that would leave that out and only give you calories. Being able to see how much protein is in a dish is so important to me. Also, they have different sizes and tell the nutrition of each size. Fourth, the variety of food is great, I never get bored of the meals because there are so many to choose from and they add new ones all the time. Fifth, is the support. Delivery is always on time, and I've had a broken container every once in a while, and I've gotten refunds each time as well as an offer for a replacement. 6th and final, it's tasty and affordable. The prices are what made me check them out in the first place, but the flavor is what made me stay. All of these things rolled up helped me lose 45 pounds in the last 7 months. I started at medium sizes and worked my way down to small sizes while focusing on high protein meals.
