My complex... since we've lived in QC we would come here when it was previously owned by different owners and called Schmear. How I miss those days! Stopping in before the kids soccer practice on a Saturday to a packed house. The new owner is a thrill to watch thrive since those days and a part of me felt concerned when covid hit. I know it was brutal for her opening up a new business right before and trying to live up and perfect the craft! I even turned away for awhile in disappointment thinking our town lost a gem, Schmear. If it wasn't for the fact that for a long time this was the only place to get a bagel- I might have never returned, but this girl loves her carbs and a good schmear (NYC is heaven- of course) ! I came back to try every now and again just to get a fix. Einstein Bagels finally made their way into QC and it was definitely a reality hit of quality (hadn't ate there in years). I have yet to return to Einsteins . My favorites: the everything bagels are literally and deeply covered with robust rub, the chive cream cheese amazing, kids love the rainbow bagels, they carry macadamia milk for coffee, and you can grab a bag for $4 of the day old bagels! The bagel has a great yeast starter just about similar to the old Schmear! You can taste the variation. My only complaints: the hours (wish they opened earlier, coffee drinks are way too expensive, they upcharge on the bagel type and cream cheese, they need to expand and feature different schmears from time to time, my biggest concern is consistency. There's times I go in and my bagel was barely toasted, more like warmed bread, times where they barely put cream cheese on (frustrating when they upcharge for chive cream cheese and you got nada). The automatic tipping is starting to become ridiculous. We go in and order our food at the counter, wait for it and throw our own stuff away or even take it to go. There is no "service" and for them to request that we tip 15/20/25 percent at checkout is absurd. They aren't the only establishment doing it and I'm more than sure it's the pay system software they use- but our family is actually at a point to stop going to these places that do that overall. Or we will use an app and order ahead to bypass that awkwardness and pick it up because it's absolutely out of hand! Owners need to address this but they won't understandably as it's more money to them and their employees- for a time (like I said, we've stopped visiting a lot of places like this). If it wasn't for the macadamia milk- I wouldn't bother to buy coffee here. I don't think the coffee overall has a great taste but nonetheless when I stop in during the work week as a treat to myself I'll order just because of this option alone. You can't find many places that offer macadamia milk- yes, there's a $1 up charge for that too. The pistachio shaken espresso at switch brews is much preferred but they don't have great bagels, lol! The owner- she's adorable, sweet, and I love seeing her work side by side with her crew! That's leadership and I will always support that! Plus my daughter and I love her cute eccentric outfits! I feel like I'm in the city instead of bland suburbia. Thank you for jazzing up life around here!! The upkeep and seasonal decor is such a treat and also makes for a great visit too! Adorable decorations to fit the holiday or season and even fresh flowers- LOVE IT! It's those details that make the visit worthy. We love the new outdoor patio set and the available games are great too- I suggest a kids bookshelf! I look forward to her new ideas and seasonal changes- it's what makes QC great. The environment is clean and beautiful. However, the men's bathroom toilet paper holder needs to be repaired. The toilet paper fell mid bathroom session, causing the toilet paper to roll all over the bathroom floor. Yuck! They probably have no idea this is broken, though. The employees are so wonderful, welcoming, clean, friendly, presentable, and professional. The customer service is perfect! The menu is creative and delicious. The prices are a tad overpriced. They carry several delicious options for gluten free diets. They have a few milk alternative options (no coconut milk). The quantity of coffee is a little small for iced coffee- but it is delicious and so good for your soul, lol! The quantity of food, though, is absolutely the most generous I have ever seen! I have been to this coffee shop a handful of times now and can honestly say it's just a miss for me. The drinks, while creative and beautiful, never taste nearly as good as they look. I've tried several seasonal lattes and most recently a peach lemonade. The lemonade was nearly $7 and had lots of chunks of what seemed to be fruit cup peaches floating throughout. The service and ambiance are great! Staff has always been helpful and friendly and I love that they always decorate for each season. This was why I kept coming back trying to figure out what the hype was about. All this to say it's a coffee shop with a nice vibe and overpriced drinks with mid flavor. read more

First while the coffee tasted good, my mocha was not very warm from the beginning. Next both of us got the avocado toast. Then I asked if the matcha is sweet (we are not matcha drinkers only if it's sweet) then they responded " matcha is not supposed to be sweet" . This was my first and probably only time at Sidewalk. I came on the morning of 4th of July. It's a small quaint little place with tables and a sofa. Happy to see they were open til 3 on a holiday. I ordered my food and ordered two drinks. Since it's my first time here, I had no idea they serve their drinks in glasses - not disposable to go cups. I ordered one drink to eat with my bagel and a coffee which I was going to sip on my coffee after leaving. Once they called me up that my order was ready, I noticed the glass cups. I asked can I have my coffee in a to go cup? I said I didn't care if she just pours this one into a cup even though it wouldn't look cute any more. This girl rolled her eyes threw my coffee so hard in my cup that some of the coffee spilt out and shoved it over to me. It was so rude. I look at this tiny to go cup that I just spent $7 on along with some rude customer service. Small drink portions and poor customer service isn't what I want to spend my money on. I know everyone is always going thru something... maybe she is just having an off day but taking it out on a customer is not good business. She had previously door dashed sandwiches to our parents for last Father's Day, which they liked, so wanted to check out Sidewalk in person. Sidewalk Coffee and Bagel is a great place to check out if you are craving a New York style bagel. After stopping in several days for well over a month this place can be addicting. They serve Peixoto coffee, offer breakfast sandwiches until 1pm, and lunch sandwiches as well. They also have a small pastry case, black and white cookies, and macaroons. My favorite bagel is an egg bagel and I was pleasantly surprised they offered egg-everything bagels as well. My go to latte is their Lavender latte minus the honey. My first visit I dined in and my latte was delicious. My egg-everything bagel was almost like being back in New York again. The staff was friendly and the interior still had Christmas decorations up and was so cute. Now they have transitioned to a Valentine theme. Occasionally, you will even find the owner working behind the counter. Now for all my visits after that I opted for to go and this is where the four stars come in. My latte was hit or miss. The taste was there but on two occasions it had way to much foam. I usually order their hot Lavender latte but on my last visit I went with one of their new drinks and ordered a hot Chocolate Covered Cherry latte and the flavor was amazing but sadly it was warm at best. All the bagels I tried were delicious, plain, everything, and egg; all with chive cream cheese. The cream cheese can be hit or miss with too much or too little. Overall, I would recommend this place if you can dine in. Seems my first visit was the best. However, I am usually on the run and order to go. Both times I've ordered DoorDash my order comes with the drink missing. Owner immediately tried to blame DoorDash. DoorDash does not read what the customer ordered they just pick up what is there. Owner was extremely rude on the phone , offered no solution other than telling me my drink was made and there and it was the dashers fault. If both times I've ordered a drink was forgotten maybe it's YOUR fault! Just a thought?!?!?!?! Never doing business here again with these entitled jerks! We kept seeing this place and hearing everyone in town saying how good their breakfast sandwiches are and well I'm a breakfast sandwich sucker so we had to try this place. There were many different varieties to choose from including gluten free options, which my wife loved. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches, bacon egg and cheese. One of them on an everything bagel, and the other on a gluten free bagel. The bagel was pretty good. It had good chew, was well seasoned with everything bagel seasoning and was a decent size. Not the size of NYC bagels but good size nonetheless. The breakfast sandwich menu had no prices On it that we saw, so we ordered and they told us the price of over $20 with tax. Each sandwich was $10. Now I was expecting an epic sandwich, and the sandwich was good but not $10 good. It seemed like the egg was a store bought egg patty, maybe it wasn't just that's just what it seemed like. The bacon was good and the cheese was real cheddar and not American cheese, which I wouldn't have been mad about. The taste was good but it just wasn't an epic breakfast sandwich. I think this place is known for their coffee and actual bagels and a breakfast sandwich is just a second thought in my opinion. I would go back for just a bagel though. I think it's important to support local small businesses so maybe I would go back for another sandwich, because it wasn't bad just not what I was expecting and sort of plain. Their website says "House Made Syrups", so I thought a blueberry coffee would taste amazing. When I got my coffee, there was a layer of neon blue syrup sitting at the bottom -- obviously not "House Made". And why was it not mixed at all? It obviously tasted awful. Very mid. Probably one of the most underwhelming places I've experienced. From the staff to the food and drinks. The bagels and cream cheese had a strange, almost chemical taste (similar to the artificial flavor you get from heavily dyed frostings like red, purple, or black). The coffee didn't taste like coffee at all, and the lids were flimsy and constantly dripped everywhere. When I ordered, I got a weird look after saying my child couldn't have a certain topping, and I had to explain why before it was actually removed from the order. Made a quick stop at Sidewalk Coffee and Bagel while running errands. The space is open and bright. The pops of blue throughout the space is fun and cute. I was greeted as soon as I entered. This was a weekday afternoon and the shop was fairly busy, but there was no line. I walked up to the counter and ordered my go-to, honey cinnamon oat milk latte. This was a hot day, so I asked for it iced. Within minutes, my drink was ready. It was smooth, balanced, and delicious. No surprise there since they brew one of my favorite coffees, Peixoto! This is a great spot! I needed somewhere to go relax and do some reading. This was the perfect spot and atmosphere. It wasn't super crowded or super quiet but it was just right. It's not a big place but it's plenty of seating. Staff is very friendly when you walk in. Sat for a min before I ordered my coffee just check out everything. I ordered a hot coffee with Carmel shots. Coffee was ok. I did appreciate that if you get coffee they serve in very nice coffee cups. They have a great selection of breakfast sandwiches o served on bagels. They have a large variety of bagels. They do have feee WiFi and lots of outlets to keep your laptop charged while your working. I'm always on the lookout for places that offer Gluten-Free options. I went to Sidewalk Coffee on a Saturday morning. There were a couple open tables. The staff was very nice and I like the ambiance. My daughter has a GF cookie and Strawberry Foam Mocha drink. My wife had an everything bagel with plain cream cheese. I had a plain bagel with egg, cheese and taylor ham. I'm a bagel snob since I'm originally from NY/NJ. The bagels were ok. My wife and daughter loved their drinks.
