Fresh ingredients, down-to-earth owners, and big portions! The food was delicious. Mostly everything was made from scratch, even the mozzarella sticks. I also fell in love with their tzatziki sauce, so good! We ended up talking to one of the brothers who owns the restaurant and he was very kind and told us a little bit about his business and how everything started. The inside of the restaurant has a very homey feel and though the food takes a while to come out, its taste is very fresh. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into the quality of their dishes. Don't let the prices steer you away because the portion lasted me two meals! My parents have been here a few times but this past Thursday was my first time going and it was awesome! The staff here is so nice and willing to explain what everything is and the food is super super delicious. It held up really nicely when I went to reheat it for my lunch at work later on that night. The falafel and spanakopita were still crispy. My favorite thing was probably their baklava cheesecake. Was visiting family in this area during Christmas week and checked out this Greek eatery that also has American and Mexican food items on the menu. This place is a taste of Greece in the small suburb of Yucaipa. Decades ago, the building actually used to an A&W It is fast casual so you order at the counter. The order taker and her coworker on a Friday evening were kind and friendly. I actually don't remember if my hubby had to grab the tray at the counter or if they brought it to us. Food is fresh and tasty. Hubby got the gyro plate which were generous portions along with fries and a fountain drink. I just wanted a Greek salad easy on the onions and they did just that. Wow!! I have not been here in many years. That is no joke. So I saw a picture of the falafel burger. I was instantly hooked on trying it. I have never had falafel before. I am broadening my food horizons. they say people eat with their eyes and with this I actually ate it with my mouth. Man it was good! So it all started when I walked through the door. People were friendly and helpful when ordering. So I ordered the falafel burger to eat there. Then I also ordered hummus with pita bread to go. The falafel burger came out nice and hot. Had cucumbers, lettuce, tomato, with feta, and tzatziki sauce. Altogether, I was really impressed. Especially for something I have never had before. To be honest I would order it again. I'm not a vegetarian as I do love eating meat. Let me tell you though this falafel burger was great. The place definitely looks bigger from the outside, but don't let that fool you as it's nice on the inside. Once I got home I did try the hummus with the pita bread. I'm fairly new to the area and figuring out where all the good spots are. I happened to hear someone mention this place, I decided to check it out. I'm a sucker for a good gyro and this place definitely didn't disappoint. I've gotten the same order here now three separate times and the taste and consistency of the food has been spot on. The food arrived hot and of course tasted amazing. The staff was super friendly the times I have been here and I also observed them showing the same kindness to others throughout the restaurant. It definitely makes the place feel nuch more personable in contrast to the average food chains where you feel like you're just another person ordering food. I love to support local business but The Fat Greek has really gone downhill. I understand everything is expensive but no way can I afford $60 for 3 people. First the cashier got the order wrong and charged almost $7 for a side of fries. Also if you take children in there be careful with the electrical wires. Split wire and a hanging plug is not safe. Food is excellent and came as it should. Wish prices these days didn't go so high. However, not sure why they have a drive thru that I attempted. I was only one there and it took 30 mins to make two dishes. I have worked in quick food restaurants and could of made it faster. Finally got to come here! And it did not disappoint! Went on a Monday evening. Great menu and they have a lot to choose from. They also have a full bar. They've got TVs and have a couple with beautiful scenes of Greece. Service was impeccable! I believe it was the owner that helped us and he was great. He had recommendations on what to order. I was in Yucaipa with my husband and some friends from church for an event and decided to stop by The Fat Greek for lunch. First, the staff is super friendly and welcoming which is always a plus. You order your food at the cash register, find a booth to sit at, and the staff will bring out the food to your table. I decided on get a ribeye steak pita sandwich. It comes with steak strips, lettuce, onion, tomato, and tzatziki sauce. I added feta for an extra charge. The ribeye was grilled to perfection! I also got a side fries to share with my husband. He decided to get a ribeye steak sandwich and said it's one of the best he's ever had. My friends got a burger with tater tots, tater tots topped with feta and garlic for their son, and a mixed veggie plate. The mixed veggie plate came with falafel, gigandes, dolmades, tabouli, hummus, rice, and pita bread. They enjoyed their food as well. I love that they carry Stubborn sodas as well. They have a small bar area with a couple of TV's showing videos of Greece and some funny/action videos. I'm so happy we stopped by this restaurant. Next time I'm in Yucaipa, I'll be back to try out more of their menu and some of their Greek desserts! read more

My friend & I ate an early dinner here. I ordered the gyro burrito and my friend ordered the traditional gyro sandwich. I had realized I ordered and paid for the wrong item, they were able to make the change with the kitchen and gave me cash for the difference! They really went above and beyond for my mix up. Portions were huge and the gyro was flavorful. I couldn't eat all of it, so I took half of it to go. Very good greek food. This place ranks my top 5 all time best greek restaurants. I had the lamb kabob plate. The lamb had a great flavor. No lamb taste. Very fresh food. We drove from 20 miles away to pick up food. We have always had great experiences in the past here but unfortunately we don't live very close. Everything was delicious. We split a California gyro, they are huge and very tasty. We also ordered the garlic fries, regular fries and a small side salad. Everything remained delicious even though we had to drive home 20-25 minutes to eat. Fries had an excellent crisp to them and as garlic lovers the smell was amazing too. The salad had a couple wilted leaves but not uncommon with spring mix lettuce. Dressing was great and everything seemed freshly cut. The service was also great, thorough and with a friendly smile. It is not the kind of place you can rush through--which we appreciate as we know everything was made fresh. We wish this business continued success and only wish we lived closer to enjoy their amazing Greek cuisine more often. Traditional Greece inspired interior, blue and white. Overhead menu boards with daily specials. Walk up counter service. Consistent quality and generous portions and a fair value. I sampled a little bit of everything my two meals there that day. The hummus with pita, excellent. The Dolmades, grape leaves, again excellent, rich and flavorful so good.
