My friends and I did the Houdini escape room. The only feedback I'd give is we got a little too many hints where we didn't feel as challenged. The staff were nice and the decor was fun, but there were a couple things that were broke or didn't work as expected. We also finished the room in just under 40 minutes, so I'm not sure we got our money's worth. Had a great time in the Houdini room tonight! Very well organized. I enjoyed the progression of clues. A maximum of 10 people allowed in the room, which felt like the right number. Helpful and friendly staff, available to give clues if needed. Harry Houdini died in Detroit on Halloween in 1926, so it felt appropriate to do this room during Halloween weekend. This room is a nice tribute to him. There are 3 escape rooms available. Cool decor and easy parking nearby. I definitely recommend. read more

Best escape room so far! I don't remember the name of the room, it was a cold war type thing. We've been two other escape rooms and sometimes you just tear evening apart looking for clues. My group does a lot of escape rooms, this does not mean we are experts however this by far was the least put together game. We did the 30 min Purple Group room - for clues, the staff member climbed on a ladder propped against the wall and dropped written sticky notes in the open ceiling..... What happened to an intercom at least. The storyline was very clever BUT, the puzzles led you in all different directions and there was no clear step by step process. It was very easy to overcomplicate. There were no extra props in the room and one lock to open. The lobby was super cool, the staff was very friendly but the room itself just was not enjoyable - they also didn't offer us the answers to show us how the game would've ended if we did it correctly. read more

The experience was thoroughly unenjoyable, through and through. We did the Weirder Things room. The puzzles were overly complicated and by the time you're midway through, you can probably fill the floor space with all the stuff they have you find during the experience. If you're looking to have a bad time with non sensical puzzles, have at you but it's definitely not a fun experience. I left the experience not having a clue what just happened besides asking myself what did I just spend money on. The scanner you're given does not scan QR codes, which is 'part of the experience' (I call it an excuse for poor conception of provided tools). In addition, some puzzles didn't even work well and could not be manually reset so they gave us the answer directly. Some positive thing I will say about the room is the theme of the room is definitely from the 80s and lobby is nice for photos. 0/10 - I got few redeemable things to say about this place. read more

My husband and I were in town visiting friends and seeing as how we've become slight escape-room fanatics, we always try to visit new rooms while traveling. I typically do my research ahead of time and attempt to pick the rooms which most appeal to us (I.e. small businesses, third generation rooms, etc). When I called ahead to ask about the Fifth Wall, I was greeted by one of the owners, Sherri. She was kind, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate about their business. She even went so far as to offer that my husband and I could come in before business opening hours to play a room (knowing that we prefer to play alone if at all possible). On arrival she greeted us and showed us around their space, even giving us a sneak peak of one of their up and coming rooms! We played the Houdini Trap room and had a fantastic time. The theming was wonderful and all the puzzles novel/unlike really anything we've ever experienced before. The game masters did a great job of urging us in the right direction at points where we got caught up. I loved that the room operated in a fairly linear pattern and that the puzzles were quite logical (as opposed to many rooms where puzzles are unnecessarily convoluted). We escaped with 6 or so minutes to spare!! We had a fantastic time at The Fifth Wall Escape Room and look forward to visiting again in the future once they open additional rooms! read more

From the start, the employees had a really great vibe, were accommodating, and you could tell they loved their job. The Wierder Things game was super complicated (in a good way) with lots of stuff going on. Audible clues were a little tough to decipher at times. But it was really unique concept gathering points. Our group of 8 had 4 adults and 4 kids (age 8-12). A fun time was had by all. Challenging for the adults but enough tasks so the kids were able to participate, too. This was my first escape, but my sister has been to a dozen different rooms and felt it was one of the better ones- beautiful room and quality craftsmanship. A fun way to support local businesses. I came here last night with 4 other friends and had a great time! Everything in the Escape Room was really well done and thought out and the staff was super helpful. Also, the staff have actually designed and built this room so they were definitely super passionate about their creation. Super friendly dog to pet! Wouldn't harm a fly! Cool Harry Houdini themed room teaches you about the history of Houdini in Detroit. Although my group and I didn't solve the puzzle the staff there gave us 10 extra minutes to solve some of the remaining puzzles, which we really appreciated. 80s horror room to come as well! read more

While I am certainly not an escape room expert - I can say I liked this escape room far more than the other I have done. We did the Houdini Room (the only one currently open - really looking forward to the other two opening). I think the best thing about it was the fact that the challenges could be worked on simultaneously, which was a huge time-saver as you could break up into smaller groups and have one figured out and then "unlock" the next challenge quicker. It is a smaller location and you can tell that they really care about making it a fun night for everyone. It is welcoming, fun and you can tell how much thought has gone into the room. We all enjoyed the night, the room and the staff. Plus, we lucked out and Carmen made a special appearance. She is a VERY good girl (she's a dog)!!! read more

We had a lot of fun. Booked the room for an event. The lobby is really cool and kicks off the theme before you start the actual room. Really friendly staff. The whole thing is executed nicely. They showed a quick video before you got in. The room had a lot of puzzles which was nice because with 9 people someone always had something to do. I had so much fun at this Escape Room! As a Escape Room junkie I've been to a lot and this was the cleanest and most theme-oriented one ever. I did the Houdini (60 minutes) first which had a wide range of levels of clues. There were a few locks but many of the puzzles had special effects to it which made this experience a lot more fun and engaging. There were some puzzles that were intuitive and some that required more thinking / reading. Overall this was a very excellent experience. I also had a chance to do the Purple Gang theme as well (25 minutes) which was easier. This one is a very good one for beginner Escape Room-ers. There's a special event right now that if you're one of the top three on the leaderboard you get a prize! The owner told me that this room is going away soon so I recommend everyone to try it here and move on to the Houdini room! With the Yelp discount this is the cheapest Escape Room in SE Michigan so nobody should hesitate to make a reservation! :) highly recommend!! read more

If I could leave no stars I would! My BF brought 2 tickets online, we booked the purple gang room. On the way to the escape room we got into a car accident! So about 20 minutes before the time we booked, my Bf called the fifth wall and told the guy at the front desk that we got into a car accident. The guy told him that he would send him a refund, days past he called to tell them he didn't get a refund and someone at the fifth wall told him they would give a credit for 2 ppl. So fast forward a couple months later he called to book for us and the rep at the front desk of the fifth wall told my bf that the owner would call him. So the owner called and was COMPLETELY out of line and just very rude. The owner of the fifth wall literally called us to tell us we wouldn't give a refund, the owner was getting so frustrated that he started cursing, yelling and literally hung up in my Bf face! Like wow, it's not that serious but also we're customers, like we wouldn't have even called if the first rep told us we would get a refund, the second rep said a credit! Like you're calling us cussing and yelling over like $85! Train your front desk correctly! This experience was just so terrible & proved that everyone should not own businesses that require customer service! Terrible experience! read more

There are a lot of hastily-thrown together, half-assed escape room places out there now, but Fifth Wall is really professional and really impressive. The facility is great and the theming is top-notch. The design of the place is creative and fun. We did the Houdini escape room (we got out), and it was awesome. Complex but not too complex and they do a great job linking Houdini to Detroit. We had an excellent time. read more

This was one of the best escape rooms I've ever been to. We had a great time and we escaped in the nick of time. There were only 3 people in our group and we still managed to escape and we enjoyed the puzzles even more. This would be a great escape room (Houdini room) for 3-6 people but any more than that and it might be too crowded. Seriously, amazing props, production values and puzzles. I did the Harry Houdini escape room with 4 friends recently and had a blast! I was really impressed with the attention to detail in the composition of the puzzles and the decoration of the room. Most the the puzzle elements are antiques from Houdini's era, which made the escape room a delightfully immersive experience. The challenges consisted of and eclectic mix of word / logic games, mechanical puzzles, and some basic math. Here's a hint for one of the more challenging brain teasers - bring someone along who has taken the LSAT :) read more
