I was there this weekend--Saturday to be exact. I and my family have been coming to The Fillmore Pub since it opened and up to about the past few months, we've really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Until recently, it has been a great place. So it is with much pain I write this because of the horrid service I received this weekend and my family have received on several previous occassions. The waitress was rude. I asked for the Oktoberfest beer steins that were advertised on the pub's email circular and was told that they were all out. Oktoberfest at The Fillmore started on Friday and this was the next day. When I was searching for the waitress for the bill, she was eating at the bar and it took several minutes to get her attention. Finally, my folks went up to the pub a few hours after I had left and were told there were plenty of beer steins. On previous occassions, my parents have told me they've gone in--six people in the whole place--and the wait staff will congregate at the end of the bar. On this occassion, the wait staff even looked at my parents and then continued on doing what they were doing. For fifteen minutes my parents sat there without being waited on. They left and have been back so infrequently compared to how often they used to go up there that Oktoberfest was the only incentive to get them to go there this weekend. I'm appalled at the depth of quality of the service. It makes it all the more painful because this is a really great place to go (or at least it was until the service went south). On the aggregate, the waitresses have driven this place into the ground--if I wanted to be insulted and ignored I would go to Dick's Last Resort. What a shame--they desparately need to train their wait staff on temperament, decorum, and customer service. read more

Went bar crawling in downtown Plano for my birthday last year. Place smelled like vomit. TERRIBLE. Said something to the bar keep and he just played it off, said it was a drain. We didn't even finish beers and we left. Guess we should have listened to my co workers. read more

First visit to Filmore, had seen it several times from the DART train. A couple of issues will make me hesitant to return. 1st wife spilt full glass of wine. Most places replace at no charge. Filmore's solution, a glass of water. Thanks! Next table asst was annoying in clearing table the instant he thought we were done with any utensil. He then proceeded to stretch across the small table to prepare the table for the next customers. Likely won't be us. read more

I came in on a Friday wanting to grab a quick 45 minute lunch and I thought since the place only had one other customer I could get in and out. The bad thing is I was dead wrong but the good news is that it was a pretty decent burger. I sat at the bar and the bartender/waitress/possibly cook (she would disappear in the back for like 10-15 minutes at a time so I assume she was cooking lol.) was very friendly. I got the cheeseburger with fries and 30 minutes later I had a big juicy burger. Of course I was in such a hurry I only ate half of it, but the part I had was pretty good! So if you're not in a rush, go check this place out! read more

Day after Thanksgiving; it is time for College Football and Beer! After ditching the rest of work to go watch some football, I arrived at the Fillmore. It is close to home and usually a good bet. BUT NOT THIS TIME! First thing to mention; in the restroom there are the usual signs that state; "All employees must wash their hands before returning to work." Well that is a little hard since there were not soap or paper towels to wash or dry your hands!! Second, we order some nachos. The plates came to the table already "pre-lubed" with dried cheese. Yum! There is nothing like dirty plates to make the $10 nachos taste even more appealing. I wonder if they charge extra for that? Lastly - Does College Football (or any sports that is) really need sound to enjoy? Well we asked the waitress if we could have the sound turned up on the TV. She told us she would "ask", but there may be a problem with the contract music that was playing in the background. WTH?? She goes over to the bar, and asks the "too cool" bartender. He shakes his head. She comes back and tells us, no they cannot turn the sound on the game.. Let me rant here - we came to watch some College Football and have a chill afternoon. There were only a few other people in the place, and the same old Tom Petty song was playing in the background. Really how hard would it be to turn down the bar music and turn up the game??? No attitude, no "contract about the music", etc... So we paid the $18 bucks for 2 beers, 1 order of nachos and left. A final thought, as we walked out there was a sign that said "come join us to watch the Dallas Cowboys"... So they will turn the sound up for so we can watch the Dallas Cowgirls loose yet another game, but not College Football! read more

Terrible service and food. We went for brunch and if there is a more powerful word than awful then insert here. Had the chicken fried steak and biscuit and gravy. It was like a frozen cfs and flavorless Harvey with rubbery biscuits. Seems like it was old meal reheated. When we finally got out waiter who hadn't checked back with us at all he defended the food and said that's the way it is. Avoid this place! Rude with Bad Food! read more

Went here last night to grab a burger because my friend told me they had a good review. I ordered the veggie burger and the rest of the company had other burgers. It was alright for me not too good because I had better burgers at restaurants. The best part of this place is they open til 2am of course bc its a pub. I felt kinda stupid because we just stood at the front waiting to be seated. You have to sit yourself which I didn't knew. I wouldn't recommend here for burgers. read more

I checked this place out with my wife last night. It was pretty cool. We knocked back a couple of pints and enjoyed ourselves. Our waitress was outstanding and I really thought about giving this pub four stars. We'll probably come here again cause it's not too far from home. Final thought: they need a patio. read more

Cool little pub in downtown Plano. They have a small selection of beer on taps and many more in bottles/cans. Seating can be an issue when it's busy but the bar tenders are pretty attentive, they won't leave you standing there waiting. Overall, a fun place to go have a drink. read more

I love the Fillmore! They always have a great beer selection and the food is great! I definitely suggest the pork rinds and the cream cheese jalapeno burger! The best part though has to be the fast and friendly staff! read more

An English pub with an excellent selection of craft beers, whiskey and ryes, scotches, and probably whatever other libation your picky ass wants. Served in a dark and lively setting by a knowledgable and friendly staff. Cool place. read more

This place is nice, our waitress was awesome. Bf had beers, his were fine. Snake bites? I believe. I had 1 long island tea and 1 firefly tea...both seemed to have no liquor in them what so ever. And trust me I'm a light weight, so just so you know they both tasted like mix. I'm ticked we wasted money on them. read more

We have come here several times to give this place a real try...this will be the final visit!! First off...it's a BAR, not a pub. Second, if you have a DANGEROUS food allergy like I do, don't expect them to deal with it. My husband grew up in London and I've been over many times so we are familiar with real pubs which have good drinks, food and atmosphere! This place is lacking in all three. The food is routinely greasy and dishes that are supposed to be English/Irish are not even close to the real thing. In the spirt of giving them a fair shot, I have tried a different dish each time including a burger n fries, bangers n eggs, fish n chips, veggie burger and so on with each dish being as oily as the next...right down to the wheat toast at brunch! As for the food allergy issue, on three separate occasions while ordering drinks off the menu, I made it clear that I'm allergic to HOPS so NO BEER for me!!! Despite having the same waitress all three times there has been an issue with understanding the problem (HUGE DANGER & LIABILITY for those playing the home game!!!) with this. First time I was offered a BEER to substitute ( it was a drink with beer mixed in) that she thought MIGHT be GLUTEN FREE!!?? Really??? I explained the difference to her nicely in hopes she would be a better waitress in the future. Second time, I wanted a hard cider and once again was offered a possibly GLUTEN FREE BEER if I was interested, at which time I once again nicely explained why that wouldn't work!! Third time, I ordered a Bloody Mary to go with brunch. I noticed as she walked away that they put beer in their Bloody Marys so I quickly told her and the bartender I'm allergic to the beer so please leave it out. What I got was horrible, it was tomato juice n tobacco with vodka...NO Horseradish or Worcestershire at all and worst part was they garnished it with GUINNESS CHEDDAR!!!!! At this point, we will be happy to take our Hard Earned Money and Generous tips ELSEWHERE, rather than be served sub par food and be put in Danger!! Oh, and shame on the manager who knew there was a problem but was too busy on his cell phone with his feet up on a bar stool and munching on his Girl Scout cookies to address the situation!! read more

Fillmore Pub is great. I grew up in East Plano and am thrilled they've actually been able to create a nightlife in the area. Fillmore Pub is located in the old pharmacy so it has nice charm in addition to a good beer and wine selection, and a fully stocked bar. Every item on the menu is worth eating. My favorites are the Guinness cheeseburger, cheese plate and nachos. My hubby really loves the fish and chips. I give Fillmore four stars for the overall experience. You can get better food elsewhere, but this place is about hanging out and having a good time not about fine dining. read more

My husband and I were wandering Old Town Plano because it was a beautiful Sat. afternoon. We wanted lunch, so we went in to The Fillmore Pub to try it out. What a disappointment. My husband had to ask for another glass of soda because his first glass came with something floating in it that wasn't ice. His fish and chips were bland and very greasy and the tarter sauce was terrible. My well done burger was burned so bad, all I could taste was char and my handful of fries tasted like old grease. When the waitress asked us how our food was, my husband responded, "Bland and disappointing." The waitress smiled and walked away. When we saw our waitress again, my husband asked for the check. She said, "Okay," and then walked off and started cleaning another table. We paid $26.00 for 2 sodas and two barely eaten meals. Terrible waitress, terrible food.... read more

Had a terrible experience - with an employee that actually stole from me!! Twice!! Bought a patron a shot, that suddenly had to leave - the bar guy re-claimed it & dumped it! - right in front of me! When I called him on it- said 'sir you are dishonest' then tabbed out, with no tip - He grabbed my beer too, & dumped it! -then told me to leave! I was shocked! And out $13 bucks! read more

USED TO BE MY FAVORITE PLACE FOR FISH AND CHIPS! Now I am a bit of a fish and chips snob and have always appreciated how fresh, hot and crispy the fish and chips are here. This used to be my spot to get perfect order. Well I have been there twice recently during lunch and ordered the fish and chips as usual. Both times the fish was deep fried (as if re-fried) and soggy and the same thing with the steak fries. You must also know that I am one of those people that specifically mentions how much I like the fish and chips to the waitress and makes coy suggestions about how important it is to me that they come out just that way. Well this last time I did that again. They had only one waitress during the lunch hour, our order took about 30 minutes to come out and like I said, as soon as I saw it, I could tell that it was not up to par. Needless to say I wrote them off as this was not the second time in a row that the food was the same. My mom who is visiting from california, who loves fish and chips, mentioned it to the waitress who just replied "I am sorry about that". My family ordered the lunch portion, but I ordered the full order, as I usually love them, but they brought me the lunch order. In Summary, this place has really gone down and I am very sad that I will have to find another place to get my fish and chips. Goodbye Fillmore! read more

Tried this place for a Sunday brunch. Unfortunately, this is not their forte. Food came out missing major items. When pointing out the issue, wait staff was unapologetic and slow to respond. Quality was adequate, but nothing special. This place is a much better bar than restaurant. read more

The worst service I can remember at any bar or restaurant in quite some time. I was at a table with six others last night about 10:45 PM. There were no menus on the table, so after sitting for a while I grabbed some off a nearby table. When the server arrived to take drink orders, I hadn't finished looking through the drink selection, and when I couldn't give my drink order within five seconds, the server said she'd come back, so as she started to leave I asked for water in the meantime. When those drinks arrived, I was ready. She took food orders from everyone, and when I was ready to order, she said she had to get their food orders in by 11:00 PM, before the menu switches to Late Night. But what about MY food order? As she walked away, I said I still didn't have a drink, and she called back that my drink was coming. She didn't return until she brought my friends' food orders. When I tried to order yet again, she cut me off and said she'd be right back. At that point, I no longer wanted to give the Fillmore Pub my money. She never bothered to take any drink or food order from me (the only one at my table to be left out!), and I never bothered to try to flag her down again. For those of us unfortunately living north of the Plano line, there's not much open past midnight; especially places where you can drink AND eat. The late night menu is small but sufficient (the chicken burrito is reminiscent of a late night snack one might find in the Mission neighborhood in San Francisco). But hey, it's the only place I've found that serves decent food till 1 a.m. outside of Dallas (I obviously don't frequent drive-thrus). Having the incredible advantage of feeding the night owls of the world, the music selection is always good and the beer selection is great. It is bottled, though; the number of beers on draft is limited. Although you're more than likely to get a matching glass with your beer, if that kinda thing turns you on, you should probably pay The Fillmore a visit. read more

My girlfriends and I meet here every Thursday. The food is fantastic (get the tomato basil soup!!!) and the staff is great. But really, it's the atmosphere and ambiance that keep us coming back...and ok, also the cheese fries. Those are pretty damn amazing. read more

We normally don't veer off to far north of 635 but we have friends in Allen so we met up with them here for a few beers. Wow I was really impressed- good beer selection and warm and cozy pub atmosphere- and yes similar to old monk. Kudos to the Fillmore- we'll be back if we are out that way again! read more

Awesome old school bar, especially for whiskey drinks. They consistently make outstanding Old Fashioneds, and have several dozen whiskeys to choose from (even the impossible to find ones). Food is pretty good, and the service has always been prompt and friendly for me. Dark and traditional inside - it's one of my favorite bars in Plano. read more

A small group of us came to eat here and have a few drinks before going downtown for New Years Eve. Our waitress was funny and really good. I had the Pressed Ham & Cheese with Chips and an Arnold Palmer. Everything was made fresh and was really good, surprisingly good. I'll definitely be going back. read more

Being from Seattle, it's nearly impossible to get good fish and chips in Dallas, and this place is like most others here. Not so good. We didn't try anything else though, this review is just for the fish and chips. The fish may as well been catfish, absolutely no flavor. My three long 1/2 thick fish sticks came with some horrible unchewable stuff in it. We couldn't figure out what was in there. Bummer. read more

The Fillmore is a neat bar in downtown Plano with a great selection of beers. I am only giving it 3 stars because the booths and seating are horrible. Looks like the furniture hasn't been replaced in 30 years. They allow smoking as well which was a huge negative for me. read more

As a regular of The Fillmore Pub, I can't say enough good things about this neighborhood bar. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, no matter what time of day. That being said, one of the main draws was hearing a "bartender-cultivated playlist" each night. The playlist was cultivated to the mood of the bar, which is amazing. Need a pick-me-up, say no more. The bartender could select a song with a point and a click and send the bar's mood into a state of enjoyment. Upon speaking to one of our favorite bartenders about the abysmal playlist we were currently (not) enjoying, he assured us that the owner has instated a new playlist that is guaranteed to please every crowd. Right. The owner can feel the mood of the bar miles away and select the best song, based off his preselected playlist. I hope our owner can improve the vibe of our favorite DT Plano bar, which we love and adore. read more
