The restaurant itself is so cool, beautiful atmosphere and such a good vibe. I can already tell the patio will be amazing once the weather cools down! The food was delicious. We had the deviled eggs and lump crab cakes to start, and both were SO good. Prices were great too. Our waitress, Staci (or Stacy), was AMAZING. Sweet, funny, great at banter, and incredibly attentive. Even when she was busy, she never made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. When she was at our table, we had her full attention, she checked on us the perfect amount, and we never had to ask for anything twice. She was on top of her game! My only complaint was a really awkward interaction at the end. I wanted to ask Staci two simple questions: whether they carried an olive gin I'd had in Europe (they didn't, but I haven't found it anywhere) and whether I could buy a roll of quarters because we were going to play pool. Somehow this turned into 5-6 staff members gathering around, plus this random blonde lady in a white T-shirt and jeans joining the conversation. Aside from Staci and the blonde lady, no one else even acknowledged me. They just stood there looking at me. It was weird. It felt like a lot of unnecessary attention over two simple questions and made me pretty uncomfortable. Having another customer involved was honestly the weirdest part. It was disappointing because we'd had such a great experience up until then. I went from thinking, "I need to bring my friends here!" to leaving feeling pretty unwelcome. Food: delicious. Came here to enjoy a dinner with the work team. We sat on the patio which was nice yet I believe we had a reservation inside and there was a mix up. Outdoor patio is nice and thankfully we had a breeze. We ordered some appetizers the hummus, Brussel sprouts, and Deviled eggs. Very flavorful the hummus was fresh and Deviled eggs smooth, creamy and nice hint of mustard. Staff accommodated our large party well. I ordered the Tikka skewers. Loved the first bite it was flavorful, nice smoke, and saffron rice and sauce were delicious . Unfortunately I couldn't finish my food. Seems the veggies on my skewers had the store stickers still on and cooked into the pepper. I spoke with the manager. Opted not to order anything else. I did try my friends risotto which was good. We live in the canyon creek neighborhood and have eaten here many times. We love the atmosphere. I've sit both outside and inside. The outside is so fun on a chilly night with all the fires going. Bestie and I stopped by to visit The Fifth on a Friday after work to enjoy happy hour. We started with the deviled eggs and brussel sprouts for an appetizer, which were both pretty good. Bestie ordered the pizza which was exceptionally flavorful, and I ordered the salmon tacos which were dry and had a strange taste. We decided to share the bread pudding and it was surprisingly delicious, as I don't typically enjoy bread pudding. As for the drinks, the blueberry lemon drop was a great option, it would have been better if they were a little heavier on the vodka. In town for the night and looking to try something new. After searching several reviews we settled on The Fifth. We found it to be trendy and fresh with a great outdoor seating option, perfect for the evening of our visit. They did have the swamp coolers going on the patio, but it would have been nice even without them. The menu is small, yet the offerings ample and with a variety of American dishes. For starters we had the hummus plate, which came with a beautiful and tasty hummus with a variety of vegetables and pita for eating, outstanding. For entrees, she settled on the fried chicken salad and I had the chicken fried chicken, which came over mashed and creamed corn. Both meals were delicious! The service was good, the sever pretty attentive, although it could have been better. I did order a second cocktail for my meal that never came. Not a huge deal but a little better attentiveness could have sent this meal over the top. All in all a great experience and someplace I'd visit again. read more

I ordered the French Dip sandwich and it was not what I was expecting, the onions were sweet and I removed them on the second half. The inside is wide open which was nice but very loud. We visited The Fifth Fireside Patio & Bar for Sunday brunch and had an enjoyable experience overall. I ordered the prime rib sandwich with poblano cheese grits as a side, and also tried a mimosa and a bloody Mary. The grits were the clear standou; creamy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The sandwich had fresh, soft bread and the au jus was tasty, but the beef was slightly overcooked and had an "older" taste that was a bit disappointing. On the sweeter side, the limon ricotta pancake was excellent; perfectly light, fluffy, and full of flavor. The service was perfect, attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere was upscale yet inviting. I recommend sitting in the upper-level booths if you can; they're cozy and offer some extra privacy. We're looking forward to returning to try more menu items and also their dinner service. With just a little more consistency on the food, this spot could easily become a regular favorite! read more

We've been here several times over the years. Wouldn't call ourselves "regulars" necessarily but we've been probably 4 times for what were supposed to be nice dinners. This trip did not meet the expectations that we've come to expect based on past experiences. Everything was just okay. Nothing to complain about necessarily but nothing to rave about either. We had an appetizer, one cocktail, two entrees and a dessert for about $100. Not even the most expensive items on the menu. Again, service was okay, food and all was okay, but that's just it. It was all okay. After this visit, we walked away thinking we may not feel the need to return. Which is too bad because this place used to be more "Amazing!". Hell, our first time here we waited a while for a table but tonight, Friday night around 6-7pm, there were plenty of open tables. Maybe that was a sign. We left feeling like there are better meals we've had for two for $100. Hell there are better meals we've had for our family of four for that much. New ownership? Something different in the kitchen? I had 4.5 hours in Dallas and needed to see two of my best friends and one of them worked by the University of Texas at Dallas, so I found this restaurant nearby. It did not disappoint. While I am on an eat healthier kick right now (or trying to be), I enjoyed the food. I got the chicken pesto Caesar salad with tomato basil soup. The tomato basil soup tasted amazing, especially on that really chilly day in Dallas. It wasn't as smooth as I thought it would be, but maybe tomato basil is thicker and I just didn't know it. The chicken pesto Caesar salad was light and had light dressing and it was tasty. I'd try both of these items again if I head back to this part of the DFW metro. My favorite item was the deviled eggs that we got for the table, and I loved the elote and pimento served with tortilla chips (GF). Since our experience was so good, we brought a group of 12 in the next day for brunch. Our server was great, and I was impressed that all of our food orders came out at the same time. I ordered the Huevos rancheros, which was flavorful and quite filling. Everyone enjoyed their food, and the background music was low enough that we could converse without raising our voices. Somewhere in the last year, I'm not sure if they changed chefs, but I have always had their short ribs and they have ALWAYS been amazing! I came here for the first time and got the chicken pesto salad and soup for lunch special for $17.00. I felt the service was awful. They did not value us as a customer. When I asked if the salmon tacos were any good, I got a lot of "I don't know" and the female server left me asking more questions than her trying to help solve them and find out. I honestly felt like I was a burden to her. We also ordered 2 burgers. They got the order wrong and brought out chips instead of fries. When we asked them to correct it, she said fries didn't come with it. We told her it was part of lunch special and then she realized a mistake and fixed it. Went here with my cousin for brunch and it was so good! The whole place had a classy and chic feel that also made you feel cozy and relaxed. There is also an upscale-ish, rustic, and modern vibe that lends itself to a romantic date or a casual outing with friends. There is plenty of seating inside or out on the cozy patios for small intimate outings or large groups. The service is amazing and staff were all friendly. The presentation of the food was extremely appealing and the taste was outstanding. I ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer and the brunch burger for myself, while my cousin ordered the prime rib French dip. My dish was so delicious I ate it all before I got a picture and my cousin said his was delicious as well. This is a great little place that has a nice bar area and awesome outdoor seating areas. Loved to see ramps into the restaurant which means it's wheelchair accessible. We started with drinks and it got the Fifth Spritz that is similar to an aperol spritz and very nice. We ordered the shepherd's pie fritters and they were so yummy. Highly recommend getting them. I had their burger with goat cheese and caramelized onions and truffle fries...delicious. The truffle aioli was so good. Service was good. A little slow but friendly. read more

So we had a small dinner planned, and didn't realize that our friends actually planned a wedding dinner for us on the patio. Everything from cake, vows, flowers and etc. It was such a lovely evening. For drinks - Smoked old fashion was perfect. I'm a big whiskey fan, and Love having a smoked drink. It was perfect. We had calamari for an appetizer. Really cannot go wrong there, and the sweet thai Chili was fantastic. As for food and dishes. I had the shrimp curry with was awesome. It wasn't like Samui Thai Yellow Curry but somewhere in the between from there and Sabaidee. My wife had the pan seared salmon which was delicious. The salmon was cooked well. The dessert menu looks amazing, but we had a vanilla bourbon whiskey cake brought in instead, which was unparallel. I loved having dinner here. The sauce was bland... almost like it came straight from a jar without any seasonings added. Lastly, how in the world do you make eggplant rubbery? Almost like leather... I had to chew and chew and chew before I could get it down. I couldn't cut the eggplant with a fork. I had to saw at it with a knife. I've never experienced anything like it before. I usually meet up with friends here as normally its relaxing and we can order apps, food, etc and enjoy the ambiance. Unfortunately Service from one particular waitress was rude to say the least. A friend and I showed up at 300pm had not seen each other in a year+ spent time catching up. I ask for a drink and menus, drink and menu brought back with warning at 8pm we would be asked to move for reservations. I'm like what I actually had a reservation set for 745pm so what was she talking about. Mind you we had already cashed out once and tipped, place was not busy, it was starting to pick up but we were going to order and she would have gotten tipped again and we would have been wrapped up before my reservation time came up so we would have been freeing up the table early. My friend refused to order anything else and immediately wanted to leave. If it would have been busy that would still not have been acceptable but they were not busy. My brother brought me to dinner here as a pre-wedding gift celebration. We are both foodies and enjoy discovering new places with great food. The meal overall was one of the best I've had in a long time! It was consistently good, and the service was excellent! The staff were very attentive, helpful and knowledgeable of menu options, and seemed to enjoy the workplace. It's not a huge place inside, but very comfortable. There's a large patio area that will be great in cooler months. I didn't get a picture of every item, but we had: crab cakes, Brussels sprouts, corn brûlée, short ribs and red fish. The pictures I did get were of the desserts, and crab cakes. I got a berry mock tail which was a great way to start the meal! You know how you find a place that is tucked away from the main drag where the food and service are both so on point that you want everyone to know about it - but then again you don't want to run the risk of not being able to get a table when you want it? That's The Fifth. I stumbled upon this neighborhood gem when I was on a search for great charcuterie boards in DFW; but when I looked at the menu, it was the Prime Rib French Dip sandwich that put this at the top of my "We've gotta try this!" list. We started off tonight with their calamari and it was one of the best calamari dishes either one of us have had. Crispy, full of fresh cherry peppers and crunchy bean sprouts and with that sweet chili glaze. We were fighting over that last bean sprouts on that plate. I was not disappointed with that French Dip, either. Serving it on focaccia bread was Segundo different, but nonetheless delicious! We'll be back! read more

Visiting from out of town for work and accidentally stumbled across this place while looking for a place to eat. Ambiance: outdoor patio covered and cool on a nice day. Offers indoor seating as well. Clean and appealing to the eyes. Staff: From the moment I walked in (dining for 1 at 6:30 pm. Was able to be sat immediately. I knew I was in for an elevated experience the moment my server John brought my water and a plate of both lemons and limes. I work in the medical field and anticipating the wants or needs of your customer is such a key indicator that signals someone who is good at what they do and loves what they do. It's all in the details. John was very attentive and an expert with the menu. I tried the dishes he recommended. (Crispy Brussels with bacon, wagyu double double and, I'm never one for desserts but the food here was without a doubt the best I have had in a long time, the bread pudding) By the way I should have led with I'm so impressed with this establishment I'm writing this review before I've even finished dining.
