My AC unit went out on a Monday last week and that Tuesday morning at 8:00 am there was a crew at my house installing a complete AC unit with furnace. They also sprayed in insulation in my attic and installed a solar fan in the attic in one day. The (4) techs and mechanics he had on the job knew exactly what needed to be done and worked together in getting me AC that night. But lately we have been getting halfassed maintenance work, an annual service we pay a hefty fee to have. They tend to show up late and do only some of what they are supposed to do (we have caught them not doing various checks and services several times). After one such service, my husband went in the attic to check what they had done and found that the reservoir tray under the unit was completely full of water... Something a good technician would have seen and addressed while there. To make matters worse, the techs get an attitude if you mention anything. Such a shame. It made me think of the situation where parents have been running a company for decades then have to retire and leave the biz to the kids who kind of... don't run it quite so well.

He should not be in business. I forgot to mention some things. The insulation Mark brought in smelled of weed. A couple of nights later I saw the "furnace" with the free $100 cleaning job. He said he would clean vent covers or put new ones on free if vents were cleaned. I asked how long air would be off. He said about 2 hours. He was not here long before he said he would have to charge more because it was going to take longer than expected, the new registers I bought did not have insulation which he would have to charge for and vents were dirty. I asked how much and he said a couple of hundred. I did not see much choice except to agree but I let him know I was not happy. He seemed extremely nice before he got here so I offered to put the insulation on to help him leave faster. He and his helper were here 1.5 hours. less than the expected 2. I had told him before he came that I had some black mold but he had to leave for a short while to get vent cleaner. I asked for a breakdown for the extra $200. $100 for the insulation I put on and $100 for vents. He said he cleaned my furnace a $100 job for free. That was not my furnace. It was an old wall heater that did not work 50 years ago. I am an old disabled woman on oxygen. When he was leaving I had to ask him to take out some old registers and to put a couple of heavy things back in place. This morning I got a nasty voice mail containing lies he said he told to Angi. He said I had 10 cats (have 5) and he had to clean his machine. My neighbor said the guy did not even clean the ducts right, only one trip up ducts with brush. Neighbor also witnessed much of the job. I would never recommend DustBusters.

So I hired another professional air conditioning service who went into my attic and took pictures of what was torn ductwork from where they had use the equipment to clean. Now I'm having to repay someone to repair my damages ductwork. When I called and told them about what happened and ask for a refund they told me that I waited past the 10 day refund period And all they could do was send someone out to reclean. I don't think they knew what they were doing when they were actually cleaning my ductwork and therefore damaged my ducts. I had them come on March 30, today is April 30.
