Food was hot and fresh. I ordered the fish fillet meal-Whitefish and crab Rangoon. Customer service was good. Kind, considerate and quick. However fish and breading was tasteless. No seasoning on the breading. Hush puppies were fine. French fries hot and fresh. Better than average crab Rangoon - filling tasty.

We saw there was a Grub Hub option for delivery. I know the prices are higher going through an online order app but WOW!! Well the Grub Hub guy put the food on someone's porch but it wasn't ours. So I called GH and they credited the order. I called Seafood Express and reordered. I didn't explain what happened - it's a Friday night and they are probably busy and what did it matter right? Well the cook recognized the order was something he just made within the past 30 minutes and didn't drop the ticket. We arrived and they apologized, verified that I was not charged by Grubhub and I waited 20 minutes for the food. So for $32 LESS, I got the same food, just had to pick it up. Now for the food: Pork Egg Rolls were great. As close to Detroit style we've found. No bean sprouts but the outside was crispy and bubbly. Crab Rangoon were huge and tasty. We got Chicken Lo Mein, Bang Bang Shrimp and Chicken, and Hibachi Shrimp and Chicken. We have a ton of leftovers for lunch today. I think I'd get the Bang Bang next time over the Hibachi style. People were ordering Carfish and Flounder like crazy while I waited. I'll definitely try the seafood next. We ordered from a Japanese Express in Erwin but the phone number is always busy and I like the service and food at Seafood Express better.

I quickly scanned their hefty bloody mary menu and ordered the Lobstrocity, featuring veggies, shrimp, a grilled cheese sandwich and a fresh lobster tail atop a sizeable glass of the main concoction. This was definitely a meal in a glass! It was all quite delicious and filling, and I was glad I'd opted out of any of the optional add-ons like filet mignon, crab claws, or frog legs. Of course, I still had to order half a dozen raw oysters for dessert. And no, I won't be eating for the rest of the day! What made this a 5 star experience was our phenomenal server, Trevor. He was fast, friendly, and always nearby to clear empty plates or offer drink refills.

You can tell this place is popular by the amount of people who were on the wait list for a table. The bar area has a ton of local draft beer options and very friendly wait staff. The food options vary from sushi nachos to more traditional sandwiches. I thought my fish sandwich was a bit bland but it was still an overall great experience. Prices are what I would expect for seafood in Holly Springs.

We made a rookie mistake: no reservation. Day before Christmas Eve. The only table available was by the door, which, for us, is a hard no. It was already chilly outside, and sitting by the door means constant drafts, tense shoulders, and food cooling faster with every opening. Not ideal, especially when you're settling in for a proper steak dinner. To their credit, the hostess tried everything--even showing us the reservation layout for the evening. The owner came over personally, and in the end, our options were simple: take the door table or come back at 7:30 pm when more tables would open. We were hungry, but we chose comfort over impatience. My dad left his number just in case a table opened sooner. We went home, had light snacks, and--surprise--got a call at 6:55 pm. Not only was a table available, it was a booth. That alone told me everything I needed to know about how they run this place. Stellar Client Care. When we returned, the owner John Linderman, met us at the door--warm, apologetic, and genuinely appreciative that we came back. The entire staff operates like a well-oiled team, with hospitality that feels intentional rather than performative. It's been a good while since I experienced an owner manager stop by every table to check in. A gesture from better dining times. Now, the food. We ordered: * Stuffed Shrimp with crab meat * Sausage bombs * Prime rib * A tomahawk ribeye to split I don't know if Harvey John's is officially farm-to-table, but the steak tasted incredibly clean--like actual beef. As a native New Yorker living in Los Angeles, I've eaten at many top-tier steakhouses--BOA, Ruth's Chris, Musso & Frank, Nick & Stef's, Steak 48--and I can confidently say this tomahawk was more flavorful and tasted fresher than all of them. Who knew a small-town North Carolina steakhouse would deliver a truly high-end experience? I'm no chef, but I do have a refined palate, and this meal was memorable. Honestly? If Michelin ever looks this way, they should take note. It's comforting to know you can leave one of the biggest food cities in the world and still find a steakhouse worthy of becoming a new regular favorite. Pro tip: Make a reservation--just to be safe. Cheers to Harvey John's.
