That Somerville place now calls itself "Everfitness" and has already accumulated a similar slew of negative reviews since absolutely nothing has changed. Time will tell whether this location is using the same playbook...fingers crossed it isn't, because it would be nice to have a decent gym instead.

Michelle is someone who knows how to work with injuries. We started with TRX and strength training and later incorporated dynamic movements. She starts her class by asking about how the body is feeling and then add or subtracts challenges accordingly. Every set and every rep she's keenly observing, correcting form and posture, suggesting variations if there's any pain anywhere. I've seen trainers before but none who were so knowledgeable and helpful. Note: Michelle is also a very good boxing coach if anyone's interested in it.

The training facility is clean and well-maintained with high quality equipment. When I train it is usually just me and my trainer and one or two other pairs training. I called today with a simple question about their advertised 30-day trial. When I asked whether stopping by today for the 30-day trial would result in a charge, she snapped that it would be a $20 day pass if I'm going for just a day. Fine. I then asked a very basic, reasonable question: if I tried the gym during the 30-day trial and decided it wasn't a good fit, would I still be charged? Instead of answering, she replied, verbatim, "I mean, come on, we're trying to grow a business, honey." Her fixation on "growing the business" came across as aggressively cheap and wildly unprofessional. I kept my composure and kept it professional, unlike the miserable front desk speaker. I repeated my question and she finally confirmed that no, I would not be charged. By that point, the damage was done. I went to try out a different gym and signed up elsewhere! And not to mention the neon green and blue theme would've been a sensory nightmare to be in anyway. It takes real talent to turn a simple question into a reason to lose a customer, but she managed it effortlessly. Ridiculous! And by the way, there is absolutely no way to justify this experience, if the owner tries and responds. She knows exactly what she said, and she most definitely did NOT grow her business today!
