Ripple Float is a beautiful relaxing spa haven located next to the Omni Hotel in downtown New Haven. My mother and I went there during the weekend of my sister's graduation from Yale's School of Management(Go Bulldogs!). We booked while we were in Philly for our layover and had trouble scheduling online so we called the office. Olivia immediately scheduled us for a full spa day on Sunday and then we decided to do a separate float on Friday before dinner. Olivia was so kind and happy to help us. When we arrived on Friday we were greeted by Jade to prepare for our float session to sign our waivers. We were taken to a beautiful room with cozy blankets, salt lamps and calming lighting to begin our journey. After watching the informational video for our float session, Jade walked us back to the our separate rooms. The space was so clean and welcoming. We each had our own individuals rooms with a shower, float bath, robe, slippers and toiletries. It was an expectational experience. When we came back on Sunday for our full spa day which included a 3 min cryotherapy session, 1 hour float, 1 hour massage with Jalisa and Stephen followed by an hour sauna session. The deep tissue massages by Stephen and Jalisa were otherworldly. I usually ask for a deep tissue massage but never felt that folks were able to get deep enough, this was not the case. Both my mother and myself felt that every knot we had in our bodies was released and cared for during our session. There were multiple times I felt that multiple hands were on me though it was Stephen and my mom felt the same way with Jalisa. All staff at Ripple Float ensured we were comfortable, hydrated with their many free selections of tea, water and kombucha (available for purchase). Wouldn't recommend too anyone need better policies and better massagers, also was demanding for a tip kept saying no and the front desk associates kept assisting even though I wasn't satisfied one bit. Also what I got was a gift certificate for Mother's Days to use and included was sauna which I informed them I couldn't use unfortunately due to medical reasons and was told by manager I can upgrade the package whenever I'm ready to book the session for a float instead. After my massage I went to the desk and asked about the float and the benefits of it she gave me details then goes on to say "you're going to have to pay for the upgrade now because it's a manager special and I have to do it while he is here to put it in the system" which is total bs but hey .... I ended up regifting the sauna to someone else cause I would never go here again. read more

I went there for for float session. The facility was immaculate. The staff were very friendly. I had to wait a bit for my friend to arrive and was offered water and to have a seat until she arrived. They have a decent selection of music and lighting to choose from for your float experience. They supply ear plugs, both the wax ones and the ones that go in your ear. They also supply body wash, shampoo & conditioner. After your float they have a room with hairdryers and other items you may need to get ready. The Float itself was so relaxing. They said it takes about 45 minutes for you to really relax and that is spot on. The total experience is 1 1/2 hours and such a great experience. To be able to just unplug and relax weightless in the warm epsom salt water is incredible. After the Float staff checks in on how your time was and offers you tea or water and a space to continue to relax. Loved it there, love the experience & I look forward to going back! On the one hand, I don't want to share my experience because I selfishly want to keep it to myself. On the other hand, everyone should know how amazing my experience was!! I desperately needed a massage, tailored to my needs. I was so pleased at the ease of booking and the check-in process. My masseuse Jalisa ensured my emotional and physical comfort, while using her extensive knowledge to intuitively attune to my body's needs. I was so pleased with my experience and became a member right after my massage. Jalisa legitimately gave me the best massage I've ever experienced. There was a perfect balance of checking in with me, applied pressure and stretches to loosen my muscles. I am so grateful to have found Jalisa. Did the deal where you try everything. I just made a day of it. Started with cryotherapy brrrr for about 3 long minutes, then moved to Float which I've been wanting to experience for a while, was relaxing and peaceful. Then I had some tea in my comfy robe and slippers. The spa was very clean and the staff was great, wanting you to have a good experience. Very Accomodating. My Infrared Sauna was moved up for me and that was a good sweat, while I watched Netflix . After Sauna My Masseuse was patiently waiting to begin my relaxing massage. Had a great experience trying floating for the first time. I had never heard of it until recently and after going through I can see why anyone would include it in their wellness practice. The staff at Ripple were very warm and welcoming. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment and was seated in a comfy waiting area. There are showers in each pod room and they provide body wash, shampoo, conditioner and everything needed to float comfortably and wash off afterward. I cannot swim and generally am not comfortable in water but luckily no swimming experience is needed and everyone floats due to the amount of epsom salt in the pool. It does take some getting used to and the session is 90 minutes. I got out early but I learned that's pretty common for first-timers until you get used to it. I was very sleepy and relaxed but I wouldn't let myself fall sleep which I'm sure changes the more you do this and get used to it. You do have to wash your hair afterward and I'm glad I was going right back up the hotel although hair dryers etc are provided if you do need to go back out into the elements after your session. read more

This was my first time at Ripple and I cannot wait to come back! I booked a Cryotherapy session, which I've never had done before and it was an overall fabulous experience. The woman who helped me was so patient, informative, and comforting. If you've never done this, this is the place to try it! They also offer a reasonably priced package plan if you plan on doing cyro often. I also asked for a tour which she kindly showed me around. The space is newly renovated, clean, and complied with Covid regulations. I will be returning soon, booking another session of cyro and I NEED to try out a massage with the message therapist Stephen! 10/10 experience. read more

I can not put into words how amazing my experience here was...divine! I purchased their Ultimate Valentine's Day Special; 2 float sessions (90 mins), 2 sauna sessions (45 min), 2 cryotherapy treatments and 2 massages (60 min). Firstly, the place is immaculately clean. Sara greeted us at the door, we took our shoes off and went to the floating tank. What an experience. If you've never floated I suggest that you try it. It was nice to have booked the floating suite so that my husband and I could be together. For my sistas, I had braids in; I used the shampoo provided, rinsed well and still had dried up espom salt at the knots of my braids by the time I got home...so plan accordingly ladies. While in the sauna I listened to some praise and worship, Maverick City to soothe my spirit. They have various apps such as Netflix, hulu, YouTube, etc. Stephen, my masseuse was the icing on the cake. He really catered to what I needed based on his assessment. I had some huge knots in my back and he really worked them out. Usually I'm clenching when the pressure is too much but I really do believe the float and the sauna prior to the massage loosened me up. I knew he was applying pressure but it felt so good. If I had to critique something it would be that in addition to the robes they should offer slippers. My socks got wet coming from the floating tank. Also, plus size robes. My robe literally just fit...but if you only book one service you won't need a robe as you will be getting dressed once you're done. read more

Perfection! I have been dying to find a great place for float therapy. My first experience was at a place in Bellingham, WA. The bar was set pretty high, surprisingly. I was not expecting a lot at that time. I just figured it was one of those things I could say I have tried. I was immediately converted. Since then I had been in search of a place in Connecticut to get the same effect. I had been to another place that was not quite there. The water was a bit too hot, so it was more like being in a sauna. I was not giving up though! Of course, I turned to Yelp again to help me out. I found Purest Float in New Haven. After perusing the reviews, I jumped on the website and booked an appointment. I was so excited. Fast forward 2 weeks later and I walk into the building and look around trying to figure out where it is on the floor. A woman at a shop on the floor saw me and asked what I was looking for. She had to unfortunately tell me it had been closed for over a year. However, she told me a place opened up near the Omni. Perhaps I had made a mistake? Super nervous, I went down to the Omni to see if there was perhaps a mistake. It was not a mistake. The place was indeed closed, but Ripple was a relatively new float center and they did have an open slot a little later. Whew! Fate was on my side apparently. I booked the appointment immediately and could not have been happier with this decision and really lucked out with this twist of fate. Stephen was the one who gave me the tour and told me about their site. I watched the short video and then I was ready to go. The room was clean and neat. The new thing part for me was that it was a chamber not a pod. The chamber was wonderful. It looks like you are stepping into a freezer, but it is spacious and kind of cool. Although it is spacious, the temperature is still maintained and perfect. The water was perfect and it did not take long for me to ease into relaxation. It had been so long since I have had any sort of relaxation treatment. This was way overdue and Ripple made it possible. I will definitely be back. I wanted to sign up for a membership, however, they were not set up with those yet. They assured me it would be relatively soon though. I cannot wait to come back!! read more

Terrible experience. The sauna was very small- not big enough to lie down as depicted on the website. Also- it was not hot enough- I had both heaters up to 100% the entire time and it did not go above 135 degrees. Lastly- I double checked the lock twice because it was difficult to tell if it was locked or not. Apparently not- because a male employee walked in on me unclothed in the sauna WITHOUT KNOCKING FIRST. Lastly- I wanted to shower after my sauna, and there were signs up trying to convince me NOT too (but all you have to do is google it- "should I shower after my infrared sauna"). Honestly, the vibe I got from the woman was the she didn't want to set up/clean the shower room if I used it so the goal was to get me to wait until I got home to shower. The staff ensured that all my needs were taken care of while being very personable and caring. All of the services that are provided are as good as promised. The best and most professional wellness center I have ever been to. I have tried every service that is offered (massage, floating, cryotherapy, and infrared sauna), and am so impressed with the quality and value of each service.
