Absolutely amazing experience! My fiance surprised me with a trip for both of us here. The staff was extremely friendly and explained the whole process, showing up where we would change, pointing out the directions on how to use the Pod, what to do when we were done and wear to store our stuff. Once you're in the pod...I imagine its one of those things that is different for everyone, similar to meditating. My fiance said he was able to fall asleep in the pod, while I had wildly coloful thoughts flowing through my mind the whole time. The feeling of being weightless was pretty awesome. It felt like how I imagined clouds to feel when I was a kid. Like being held up by a strong presence but not really feeling anything. I actually found myself to be a little sore afterwards, like having a deep tissue massage but the staff said this was a typical feeling. The only thing I wish is that there was a giant pod so you could do a couple's float but that doesn't lessen the experience. I was greeted buy a very pleasant owner Ray. He was very comfortable and informed me on what to do from start to finish. The place smelled so good. Like clean rain. The pod seemed intimidating at first but within 20 minutes I was in and out of sleep and my body was very heavy and relaxed. I got out and showered, then when to the back room where they provide deodorant, and hair products including blow dryers to use. Unfortunately I am from out of town but will recommend it to anyone who lives in the area. I would advise the membership. My skin feels so rejuvenated and soft. I am glad I picked The Float Spot to float for my first time. Now some tips for first timers which I wished I knew: Do not go if you have cuts like even a hang nail. Loved it! It took all the pressure off my lower spine, well all of my body. I loved being alone and completely disconnected for the hour. It was nice with the pod closed and light off, but I preferred to open the pod and use the various color light rotation function. My imagination ran wild. I had some truly hilarious thoughts. I don't normally review places on Yelp unless I find it 5 star worthy. Let me first say that floating is something that everyone should try once, but it may not be for everyone. While I believe massages are for the body, a float is more for the mind. The float spot is incredibly clean and the staff are extremely friendly. I went in for my first float and they helped me throughout the whole process. You have a choice to have music play throughout your float or to have the light on or off. Once you are inside, it is like being on a cloud. I won't go into to much detail about my floating experience, but since it was my first time it took about 15 minutes to adjust to floating comfortably. Afterwards, I was able to lean my neck back and push my chin forward, I was able to think clearly and relax. In your life, you are always being engaged in some activity. Your brain is constantly thinking and never gets time to take a break. Do yourself a favor and give yourself an hour to re-energize. You'll feel rejuvenated. TL;DR- clean environment, friendly staff. The fact that you are reading reviews on Yelp is telling me you are interested. Just go ahead and do it. read more

The customer service here is fabulous... keep it up! Facility was very clean. Overall floating experience: Like everyone else, my nerves got the better part of the first 10 mins of my first-timer float session. I started to relax but then my earplugs kept floating out of my ears & then my ears would fill with a rush of salt water. Then every once in awhile I would randomly get salt in my eye which was unfortunate... However- for the pockets of time where I got to just lie there and float and not feel anything, it really was a unique experience. I'm not a fidgety person but I did find myself fidgeting a bit, almost like I was getting bored. Best part: after my float session I went home and slept the deepest sleep I've ever slept in my life. It was incredible! They tell you that you'll sleep hard afterward and they're right! I do recommend everyone try this at least once. Clean and nice. I didn't find the experience relaxing at all. It felt exactly like being in a non-chlorinated pool. But inside and in the dark. Interesting experience, I didn't feel like an all sensory depravation feeling at all. I don't think I'll give it a second chance based on the price ($50). But I love trying new things and this was experience. Things I loved and would have been good to know: you'll get your hair wet. (Duh) but what I didn't know. They have clean showers in your "room" and outside of your room an area to dry your hair. They give you shampoo, condition, body wash, leave in conditioner, hair spray and spray deodorant. Also, they say they accept walk-ins. Make an appointment. We walked-in at 11:57am (they opened at noon) and they were booked until 2pm. read more

Does wonders for my health!! Can't live without The Float Spot. Oh yeah, great customer service from Ray , Zach Jared. They treat me like a customer and not a number. I do the monthly membership since it is a good value. I'm in there about 2 times a week now. For people on the go .... that need to decompress (business travel, workout, crazy house, stressful life), do the float. For me it provides a peaceful and restful feeling for several days. Almost like you got back from a long vacation. However, you only floated for 45 minutes. The float helped reduce the aches in my back when I workout too often. Which allows me to have a better quality workout and get back in the gym faster. However, my favorite is the hyrdro-massage (which is different than floating). Just a preference thing. I like the pounding water on my shoulders and legs. You can control where the pressure is on your body and how long it stays there. Also you can set the "strength" of the water massaging you. They have headphones with ambient music to let you just zone out and enjoy the experience. I've fallen asleep a few times. Summary: This benefits my personal health. Physically, my body recovers faster from life's wear-and-tear....and mentally, I feel renewed. read more

Coolest place ever!! So what's not amazing about a futuristic detox pod that charges your body with energy but makes your relaxed and mentally clear? This is something everyone needs to try, the place is so clean and well kept. A mid day snooze or evening appointment to wind down is great, I did my session in the morning and spent the rest of my day in a great mood and not feeling tired despite getting minimal sleep the night before. I travel a lot so this is going to be my go to stop to cure my jet lag and travel fatigue so I can stay mentally focused. I can only imagine how effective a floating treatment is after any massage (try the hydro massage they offer) I always received a similar treatment at the chiropractors but the one here is really amazing. I came here for a girl's day with 4 other girls this past Saturday and the girls and I absolutely loved it! My husband arranged everything with Ray ahead of time as a surprise for us and we were definitively surprised! Ray (the owner) and his staff are extremely helpful and very nice in explaining how everything worked. Everything is extremely clean and well maintained, lights were dimmed, had a very relaxed feel to the space right when we walked in. I was hesitant at first about floating as it's very hard for me to relax and drift off... 10 minutes in and I was out and woke up an hour later. Best. Sleep. Ever. I recommend taking your contacts out before floating as it will burn if you get it in your eyes but it doesn't last long. They have showers for you in each room as well when you're done and also provide earplugs for you when you float. You can still hear the music they play through the water, yes, through the water, it was such a neat experience! The girls all loved it, one had a hydro massage (there's only 4 float tanks) and she is definitely planning on coming back as are the rest of us! You have to check this place out! read more

I cannot begin to say enough about The Float Spot. We visited the Frisco location this past weekend where I took my 15 year old son to float, in hopes of some relaxation that would lead to him being able to gain better sleep. We were fortunate to meet the owner who took a little time to better understand the reasons behind our visit, and from there we began the float experience. The education provided by everyone in the shop on how the floating process works, as well as the effects that we might see upon the body/senses was perfect. At no point was anything promised or over sold, just a simple explanation of overall potential benefits. I am ecstatic to say that my son was able to gain sleep without medicine and pain which he was experiencing from a concussion had subsided a bit. We have already booked our second float and I can't stop recommending the float spot to our friends and family. read more

Horrible experience on the phone with the front desk girl. She was very rude and had terrible customer service. I would think a place offering tranquility and relaxation would choose their employees who are the face of their company a bit better. Or train them with better customer service. My husband and I were supposed to go together, but that morning we had a child wake up sick. I needed to stay home with him. As soon as the store opened, I called to figure out what to do or if my husband could take my float time as well or reschedule due to the circumstances. It was less than 3 hours because they don't open more than 3 hours before our appointment time. I did not leave a message as she mentioned because no where does it say that is an option. She just repeated herself and had nothing to offer to make the situation better. And on this call we find out their aqua machine was down. Otherwise we would have showed up and found that out last minute. Needless to say, The Float Spot has lost 2 customers and more since we will not be recommending this place to any family or friends. :( read more

Do a test on a white towel or a paper towel if you don't own white towels for the hair color bleed test. I made an appointment and pre paid for what would've been my first float, but I did not test my hair because I have not had it colored in about 2 months. It does not bleed any color when I wash it because it is so faded, however, when I arrived, the girl working gave me the rundown and asked when I colored my hair last. Out of paranoia about the expensive pod cleaning fees if my hair bled, I rinsed it without any color coming out, but scrubbed it dry. Much to my dismay, I saw a slight almost unnoticeable hint of reddish brown on their white towel. I did not want to float, but I did lose the money that I pre paid. The whole point of this review is to make sure you test your hair before you buy a float and then lose your money if you don't end up floating. I'm extremely disappointed. It is not the fault of the Float Spot, but it still sucks!!! read more

So I went per a suggestion of a colleague. It sounded weird but I thought try anything once. So first off as many have pointed out the staff are very friendly and explained the whole process. Since I was still a little skeptical I chose the 30 minute float instead of the 60. I was not pressured to buy any longer which I thought was pretty upstanding a lot of spa places will up sell the hell out of you. So I went in the back room and as everyone has mentioned you shower and go in pod naked and just relax and float. I thought they said it would be 5 minutes before going dark which made me anxious when it didn't happen but after I noticed it was 10 anyway once it went dark it is hard to describe you just go in your own place and it is so relaxing it was dark 15 minutes before light and sound slowly started again but it seemed like it had only been 2 minutes once it was dark. So definitely next time I am floating 60 minutes. One after effect your skin feels great afterwards so I know a lot of the women will like that. There memberships are a no brainer and like others said I was not pressured to buy anything. I think it has a lot to do with the product is so good they don't need to. I've been a fan of floating for a few years when I lived in Chicago and was excited to find this place. I decided to give it a try and say I was impressed. I was a little nervous about the pod style as I had not experienced that before but I had no issues adjusting. Super easy and the thunderstorm sounds at the beginning and end was perfect. The customer service was top notch and I felt a total reset. I have a hard time falling asleep during the floats, this time I did not. My wife and I had gone to another Float place in Dallas and hated our experience but coming here it was amazing! I've been training for a half marathon and up upped my mileage so I've been really sore lately and after doing an hour in the tank I feel really good and not sore at all anymore. My sweet hubby surprised me with a date to the float spot - something I'd always been interested to try, but something I would've never guessed HE'D be down for! The staff here is excellent; friendly and walk you through everything so you know exactly what to do. Laying in the water was definitely a unique experience; Its pretty neat to float with absolutely no effort at all! Personally, I liked having the light on the whole time, as it was just a bit TOO dark for me lights off. Also, they play beachy music at the beginning and end, but if they'd allow it, I'd like to hear that the whole time because that's much more relaxing to me than total silence. I went for a 60 min. session at The Float Spot today and it was pretty cool. I didn't think much of it when I left other than it was a nice place to relax and do something different. What is AMAZING is my neck and shoulders, which remain rocks 24/7 are completely soft and released!!!! I'm a noodle!!! I cannot believe it! No one would have convinced me until I tried it!!! I had about 1 1/2 hours to kill before meeting some friends for dinner...found the Float Spot on Yelp and made an appointment for an Aqua Massage. It was fantastic! The website said to wear thin clothing for best results (you stay fully dressed)...I had on leggings and a tshirt - Perfect! I was completely relaxed yet energized afterwards. Can't wait to do it again! And also try an actual Float when I have more time and can get my hair wet. :) read more

The float was cool the first time, but quickly became boring. I've been really stressed and overworked lately so my husband bought me the membership hoping it would calm my autoimmune flare triggered by stress. Don't let them con you into a membership because it's not worth it. After 3 floats I found it very hard to enjoy due to how basic and boring it is. Might as well just go float in a pool or hot tub for free. Not to mention there were always long hairs in the pool and I was always getting salt in my eyes (the water bottle they provide doesn't help much) I tried the aqua massage to use up some of my minutes and it was like being in a washing machine. It was so loud and unsettling. It felt just "ok" don't waste your time in there, you can go to 24 hr Fitness for $20 a month and use their aqua massage endlessly.- Rachael Goff read more

OMG! I can't believe the nonsense that went on at this place of business today. So about a month ago, I booked an appointment for today at 11. We had inclement weather on the day before and the establishment was closed. I wanted to reschedule my appointment for a later time. I tried to contact them the day before but no answer because they were closed. I didn't leave a message on their voicemail for I felt I would just contact them early the next day. I called them at 10 right when they opened and no one answered. I turned around and called back and left a message. No one still called back. So I called them back around back around 10:30 and I was informed that I would have to pay a cancellation fee if I wanted to come in later on the same day. The lady who answers the phone is rude and very unprofessional. She argued with me like I was a person on the street. I just couldn't believe how unprofessional she was to a customer. I asked to speak to a manger and she stated: why , you want to get me fired? I informed her that I would come at my regular time but I wanted to speak to the owner when I arrived. In the meantime, she called the owner and said I don't know what about me. I arrived at the business and asked to speak to the owner. She stated that the owner was not available and the owner trusts her to handle the situation. We both continued to argue with each other. I got so frustrated with her that I threw the clipboard and walked out. I then went outside and called the police because I felt that the whole situation was no handled correctly. The police were no help for they took her side. She was laughing at me and thought the whole incident was funny. I am still in disbelief. Long story short, I was looking forward to getting services at this establishment and I was disappointed. It was my birthday , so I was really disappointed. The owner and the lady in the front are horrible. I would no recommend this place. I am certain that their float massage services are great but their customer service is horrible beyond means. They are quick to mention the cancellation policy after you decide to cancel. Prior to that they never mention it. I ended up going to a massage place down the street and they took great care of me. I've been a floater for several years but only recently discovered Float Spot. I'm a massage therapist and recommend floating as an additional method of stress and pain relief. It works, I promise! I've floated after a grueling weekend of nonstop massages, and left feeling like a million bucks! I have been to other Float spas where the tank is like an oversized bathtub, so I was worried I'd feel claustrophobic since it's a pod. But there's plenty of room in there and I felt very comfortable closing the lid. However, you do have the option of keeping it open if you choose. I highly recommend this place! read more
