Flash Flood Warning. August 30, 2025.
    J. J.

Thoroughly disappointed. It's been years since my wife and I last floated. We used to go often in Austin, and we've been searching for a good spot closer to McKinney. The closest option seemed to be The Float Spot in Frisco. After months of talking about it, my wife surprised me with a booking for both of us this weekend for my birthday. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans. Our area was under a WeatherCall NextGen alert instructing residents to seek higher ground. The street in front of our house had water flowing like an actual river. I called to explain the situation and see if we could move our appointment. The woman I spoke with, Crystal (who identified herself as the manager), seemed to take satisfaction in telling me we'd still be billed for half the booking. She said other customers were coming in without problems, as though we should risk our safety to do the same. When I asked about escalating to another manager, she repeated that she was the manager and even encouraged me to leave a review, pointing me to the other ones. So here I am. I haven't left a Yelp review in over five years, but this interaction pushed me to do so. We wish there were other float options in the area, because after this experience we'll never use this facility. Not because of the floats themselves, but because of how the staff handled the situation. Expecting people to put their lives at risk during literal flooding is unacceptable.

Do not buy gift certificates here. Although the website where they are offered indicates these can be used for services or merchandise it fails to indicate they refuse to refund if unable to use it. We paid $200 and were unable to use it due to unforeseen circumstances. When requested the company said they would not refund and they had been paid so it would do no good to dispute. Asked further if it was good faith to keep payment for no services rendered the response was that we could give it away. No apology nor any specific basis for non refund though they confirmed being paid. Here's a screenshot of the online page. If it's not refundable they should italicize that as they have the other stipulation for the card. No benefit to gift card and if you do give one, know you've given away your money. Don't expect a polite or helpful person to address customer concerns either.

I love love love The Float Spot and recommend it to anyone that's interested in trying it out. The people at the front are absolute gems and they've been really kind every single time I've come. They walk you through the process -- explain how the showers work, remind you about how to turn on and off the pod, and they always remind me (and I always forget) about putting in the earbuds hahaha The Float Spot is clean, meditative, and perfect for introspective floating. Defs recommend!

No respect for the customer's time. My Appt was for 10:30a, wasn't seen until 10:43. I called yesterday - front desk women was rude answering the phone I asked her what do you guys offer and she gave me some sarcastic answer. Is that how you reply to a potential customer. No customer service skills. I still tried this place today because it looks great. I should have taken the warning and not tried. I get there today at 10:21 for my 1030 appointment. I was done filling out paper work at 10:29. The water massage was still going, because the couple before me were late. my appt is at 10:30. They come out at 10:34. She's wrapping up with them. She's about to take them back for a tour. I said politely excuse me my appt is at 10:30, i have to be at work at 12. She's says I'll get to you. She takes them on a tour anyway. Now it's 10:40. Like is she serious. I go back there and said excuse me I made an appt at 10:30, it's 10:40, you can finish them after. She ended up saying you cant dictate to me how to do my job and when to see you. It feels very bad to be so disrespected as a customer. I cried and asked her why she's treating me like this. She just kept saying you're in your buffer time. Buffer time? it's 10:45 and my appt is for an hour and I have to be at work. I'm so confused 10:30 is my appt. if the prior couple is late - shorten THEIR TIME not mine. That's not fair to the person on time. I really wanted to try this place and it's disappointing how they treat ppl It's not okay to be late to someone on time for their appt. what's the point of making an appointment if they're going to be late seeing you. I've never experienced such poor customer service. This women is a rude bitch with no customer service skills. And she calls the owner up and s/he is taking her side You guys could have had my business as a frequent customer with referrals. I guess you guys don't care. I literally did nothing to you but show you on time for my appt just to be treated with no respect

The water being used is it filtered or city water?

The water is filtered on an initial fill in each pod and water lines tested for sediment. Once filled, the solution (300 gallons of water with 1150 lbs of USP grade epsom salt), gets filtered every 90 minutes (24/7) when not in use and filtered…

I have noticed with any type of spa experience the best time to go is during the week and in the morning. There was a ton of staff really taking care of the entire place and everything was being cleaned throughout the day. As stated, I really enjoyed going to a lot of the new rooms and to pool outside. I remember it being a fine establishment for the price (10+ years ago). So seeing that they've recently renovated here I was curious and decided to go have a relaxing day. This place is not Korean and obviously not meant to be on par - it's a Chinese alternative and unfortunately cuts corners and costs wherever they can and it shows in how the reno was done. For 2 people it was close to $200 without any additional purchases. Issues 1) You put your shoes away in a small locker before proceeding to the main locker room. Typically in spas where you're forced to take off your shoes - the staff also do not where their personal outside shoes indoors. This was the first red flag. Everyone walks around in their normal shoes. You're basically walking behind them and stepping in all the filth from outside while being barefoot. I'm Asian, this is u acceptable. 2) A few pools indoors and out were inoperable because the caulk/sealant they used were coming off and floating around in abundance. I can't imagine what the pools with jets look like without the bubbles. You can see that the renovation was done hastily and someone even posted a picture of no permit work done. Concerning 3) In the men's area, the sauna was not hot. The steam room had a pungent paint/construction scent. Not something you'd want to breathe in for extended periods. 4) Saunas on the main floor had no identity to them. If you are used to going to other Korean spas, you will be familiar with each room actually having a unique healing property. How? You saw the bags of herb, you smelled it, the light sources were legit. Here each room is the same. The rooms with light therapy were cheap aliexpress strip led lights that didn't work in some cases. This place isn't worth the money. You can tell from an hour or two that no one really cares about the experience. It's a money grab.

Will NEVER come back. TL;DR BELOW v v…read more This was our second time. First time was decent-ish but this time, it was 90 minutes of not a great couples massage for my hub's birthday. Our massages were so vastly different but what they had in common was that NEITHER of our therapists could go from softer to deeper pressure to back to soft, which in a 90 minute massage gives some time for that. There were NO sighs of relief from our room the ENTIRE time, just yawns from our therapists. They mainly used their arms to massage. So there wasn't very much work being done on our muscles alone, which would need hands. Mine somehow maintained KITTEN MITTEN PRESSURE on me like for 90% of the massage WITH FOREARMS. There were some spots she got that felt great but it more felt like luck than intentional. I was wondering if maybe I'm imagining that the pressure was light so many times, I couldn't enjoy the massage. I couldn't tell if it was out of fatigue, because I'm a lady (maybe thinking I don't need as much pressure) or if she was distracted because there would be like a slow gentle jostling that would kind of trail off, almost pause, then the pace would pick up but still not very much pressure. It doesn't take too much to make me jump out of my seat when getting my feet massaged but it felt like a baby was poking me this time. I had asked for more pressure in the beginning, which improved it a little but the pressure fell off back to almost nothing quickly. I got the sense that my therapist was tired so I spent most of the massage waiting for it to be over while I was gently jostled, pinched (gently) and thumbed with just slight fingernail sometimes. My husband, on the other hand, got ALL THE pressure for both of us within the first ten minutes- it was all elbows / arms for him with zero buildup to deeper pressure. At points, she would put full pressure on BONE. After that, barely any pressure for him ESPECIALLY on common pain points. She maybe spent 30 seconds on each of his arms. His therapist used the hot stones like they were straight out of the oven, they had no time to cool. From the oven to the skin. His legs were hyperextended when face up and his therapist put DIRECT pressure on his knees. He'd been dealing with a knot / pain at the right Lat/ QL point for a couple weeks and he left in MORE PAIN than when we walked in. The massage left us MORE annoyed, sore(in my husbands case) and less relaxed. The most boring, annoying, nothing massage I've ever gotten. For him is was just all pain that wasn't therapeutic. They were both considerably older and it was a 3pm appt so it could have played a role in what seemed like a massage that both therapists were tired in. Despite all that, NONE of it is what's making me leave a review. I was going to just pay for the service and MOVE ON. No tip, which sounds bad but honestly for a 90 minute with CBD oil, they were getting plenty from us considering we paid service when we barely got a massage. (Now I'm wondering if the CBD oil is even legit.) What's making me leave a review? THE TIP. I paid for the service and gone to the restroom but then the girl at the front asks if I want to leave a tip as I'm leaving, and points out our therapists are RIGHT BEHIND ME- REALLY putting that pressure out there to tip. The therapists behind me spoke in another language & the tone told me enough that they weren't happy they weren't being tipped. I've never had a place do this ever, really? Coerce your customers to tip? 1. The therapists must not be getting adequate breaks so afternoon appointments get a tired therapist. That or maybe you need to come in earlier or just be really lucky with whoever you get. 2. When you don't want to pay a tip /additional gratuity (to show GRATITUDE), they will then HARASS you as you're leaving to leave a tip for the massage your therapist barely executed. (I have no problem tipping. Dude, me & hubs been trained in massage. We have had some light or too painful massages that still did SOMETHING. This is probably the WORST massage we've ever had AND then the tipping thing was just the cherry on top) I gave them both $5 each, which was met with a shocked look on both of their faces as if they both just did super great jobs and I should be giving them my firstborn child. {I get it if they're literally fatigued, but it shouldn't be surprising when I don't tip.} That alone was almost worth the experience but now we're going to look for a massage place that will ACTUALLY give some decent pressure and some actual effluerage and pettrisage instead of whatever tf this wasted experience was. TL;DR don't come here if you want a low tier massage and to be gaslit that you should pay more of your hard earned money, the service fee is not enough. Which is understandable, if the massage was actually decent. Might have a chance if you get there early so that your therapist is as fresh as possible but otherwise, don't waste your money.
