To make a long story short, we wasted an entire day tying to resolve a pick-up issue. Time is money, and in this case, our fabricator was sent to pick up at the warehouse and could see the product but it wasn't properly tagged for pick up so they couldn't release it to him. Until we encountered this issue, we had 100% confidence in The Floor Store, but someone dropped the ball here and now it is costing us money. read more

Came in here looking for a couple small carpet samples for a project my dad and I are working on. Our dog has some bad arthritis and we're building a small wooden staircase to help her get up on the bed and we wanted to carpet the plywood. Mike offered to go in the back and look for some carpet scraps to show us, he came back with two carpet pieces that were the perfect size and gave them to us for free as he was discontinuing the line. A few months ago, I finally decided to replace the floors in my Sunroom, small Laundry room and Bathrooms. This was a project long overdue. Mike at The Floor Store was awesome in showing us the available (waterproof) products, letting us take samples home, and guiding us through the process. There was no pressure - e.g., to make decisions before sales were over or to get a reasonable installation time. Once we decided on the products and it was time to schedule the job, Damian was equally incredible. When I had to reschedule the job (granddaughter arrived day before scheduled installation), Mike and Damian were super supportive and understanding. When the day of installation arrived, Manuel and Alex arrived on time and were very talented and diligent in completing the job. The floors look great! This was the first store we started looking for our hardwood flooring needs. Steve patiently walked us through all types of floorings. Over the next few months, we made several trips to this store. On each visit Steve was always available patiently addressing all our concerns and questions. We had also checked out many other hardwood stores too. We purchased our new carpet from The Floor Store in Sunnyvale on February 3, 2018. We were told by the salesperson (Steve) that the carpet would be installed on February 8th or 9th, 2018. We were then told that the carpet was on backorder. When our carpet was received some of the carpet was damaged so we had to wait for more carpet to come in. There were many times we were to receive a phone call regarding an issue and no one would call us. This installation and dealing with The Floor Store has become a nightmare for us. We would not recommend anyone to The Floor Store. read more

I am writing this as I seethe in frustration and I wish I can give them negative rating. We should have known better - we made an appointment for 12 pm on 8/3, when we showed up, Steve was with another client, so we patiently waited. After a 30 mins, we decided to feed our son and ourselves. That should have been our first sign to find another company. But pressed for time to get this project completed before school got into full swing, we placed a deposit for our tile floor and installation on 8/3. Steve came out to measure on 8/6. We were told we'd get confirmation of when the order was place - no such call came, until I texted for update. From 8/3 onward only communications I received were in response to my texts asking for updates. On 8/18, after asking for another update, I was told installation dept will call me on 8/20. I waited, and waited - after 6 pm still no call, so I texted again - no response. I texted the next afternoon - no calls until 8/22 to schedule for 8/27 install. We were excited, even though it was our son's birthday - made arrangements to have kiddos stay elsewhere as, we only have 1 bathroom. On call with the install manager, I was told it was a one day job and that we'd be happy with the work (2nd reassurance of this). Fast forward to 8/28 morning - we noticed that tiles are uneven, edges either dip of stick up catching our feet - texted Steve. "I'll set up" was the response I got. 9/4 & 9/5 - after days of no response, I texted again - Only to be told install dept will call on 9/6...surprise, surprise, NO CALL on 9/6. Again I texted, to finally receive a call on 9/7 to schedule the install manager to come verify on 9/13. Since I had to work, I spent an hour marking every edge that was uneven and every spot where grout was missing or uneven. Install manager told my husband that he'd call me to tell me the plan - again, surprise, NO CALL! I called and left a message for said install manager on 9/17 - NO RETURN CALL. So, I texted the sales person again (9/19) - only to be told he was instructed to turn over to install dept but he'd follow up - guess what, NO CALLS or TEXTS until 9/24, when I text Steve for update! We are promised a call on 9/25 - they did call 10 minutes before they were leaving for the day giving us no time to coordinate scheduling. 9/26 - all morning I leave messages for install dept, taking time from my work day - finally getting a through scheduling now for 2 day job 9/28 to 9/29. 9/28, installers come and tells us the wrong setting material was used first time and it should have never been scheduled as a 1 day job! They finish Saturday afternoon, but re-connected our washer incorrectly, so next day when we run a load - we had a flood on top of spots with too much or not enough grout and the color of the grout was uneven! Instead of dealing with install manager and Steve & waiting another month, we texted the installers, as they were kind enough to leave their info for issues. They come back 10/1 (yes, you read that right nearly 2 months after the contract was signed!) and re-grouted, only to have the grout crack again and the color is still uneven! During this time I am constantly texting Steve with updates and trying to figure out final costs - as they didn't do some things (minor things) and did others incorrectly and thought we were nearing the end of this NIGHTMARE. Our last communication was on 10/4 - surprise, a text I sent him. No response until today 10/16 (yes, nearly 2.5 months since this started) - I get a letter from the corp office threatening us for not paying!! I called the corp number listed - first call, transferred to someone who didn't pick up. Called back several times over course of 1 hour - no ANSWER!! Call Steve and he first blames my husband for the flooding (who was not home at time they finished on 9/29) then is upset at me for being frustrated and angry!! Our 77 sqft bathroom floor installation has become a neverending nightmare!!!! We had hoped we found our go to place for flooring and counter work we had planned out, but never again!!! read more

I had heard great things about The Floor Store, specifically the service from Kyle A. at the Sunnyvale location and went to check it out a few weeks ago. My family has been interested in pulling up their aged carpet for some time now and he gave me some fantastic options based on their needs and budget. long story short we were told our flooring could be installed by a certain date and then that didn't happen, whether that was due to miscommunication or someone dropping the ball its hard to say. BUT, when i was very upset and called the store to "talk to a manager" i was immediately put into contact with Cambria who assisted me until my floors were 100% complete. they offered to provide an alternate flooring to help accommodate my schedule or offered to expedite the original flooring. I ended up staying with the original flooring I picked out and they were able to improve the finish date (tho still after what we were originally hoping for). Cambria (unprovoked) offered me a hefty discount for my troubles. The whole process was frustrating at times (which i understand things happen that no one can control), but i can really say the management at the floor store went way out of there way to do everything they could do remedy the issues that came up. I felt like another store would have just given up and written me off as an unhappy customer but the floor store and Cambria specifically, stuck with me to make sure i was as happy as i could be. that counts for me. So, i knocked one star off since it was not a super smooth install but they did everything they could to keep me happy. I would recommend the floor store, but would say to make sure you are clear on your needs and if anything comes up dont hesitate to reach out to them. Thanks again Cambria! read more

The Floor Store provides such great service that I ended up using them for 3 jobs. I never want to deal with the uncertainty of any other store again. I have tried Carpeteria, Lowes, and S&G in the past. Kyle Allison and his team go out of their way to make sure everything is set and you can call or visit with any question and it never seems to bother them even though I have scared away other sales people in the past with my questions. I did a whole house wood floor (including stairs) and took months to pick the color but Kyle was helpful and let me try different samples and was very patient. That went so well I ended up doing carpet in my rental unit and then got a custom rug done for the living room over the wood. The rug price was so competitive that I will probably always go custom in the future. 10 x 12 sounds like a normal size but it was harder than I thought to find, even on Amazon. For less than $1,000 I got a custom rug with a beautiful pattern and quality. Overall their selection, customer service, and price cannot be beat. Thanks Kyle! read more

Very excited and happy about new Floor Store location in Sunnyvale! I'm a designer/project manager and this makes service and product very convenient for my Silicon Valley Clients and me. Great! The showroom is Client friendly - spacious (not chaotic) and well laid out. Most recently we focused on hardwood - the samples were large enough to be helpful to my Clients, as were the example hardwood layouts/design on the floor. In particular, Steve Boardman's help was fantastic: professional, timely responses (a must), knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and calm. I will be continuing to use the Sunnyvale Floor Store as designer and customer in the near future. I'm sure designers and customers alike will appreciate Steve's supportive and problem solving approach to "All Things Flooring and more..."
