We had a great experience with Steve - he's an outstanding salesman and was never too rushed to answer any questions. A great buying experience. However, the installation was and is an entire different story. What good is a product, if the installation team can't do their part? Installation department returned none of our calls. Customer Service returned none of our calls. Installers attempted to take every short cut possible - including laying down LVT in bathroom directly on top of existing water damaged subfloor. Installed LVT in entry way and somehow managed to completely botch the job - subfloor 100% level - but installed an underlayment that was way off of level and had to be ripped out and started over. Along the way they lost parts, damaged our home, asked us to go to home depot for them to replace lost parts, materials have disappeared and never found. Original installers were rude and lazy. We eve had to argue with them and tape off the entry way for demo ourselves as they refused. They didn't bring out basic things like levels, mitre saw, vacuum, toilet wax ring, needed to do the work. Steve at first continued to be an advocate - but we are several weeks out - once again waiting for them to come out and correct/complete the job - they were a no show today to complete the work, costing us more time off of work/dollars out of pocket - with no phone calls back. I've done work with S&G and others - never a problem. They may have some good crews - and perhaps they can do the carpet satisfactorily - but despite Steve and Kyle's great knowledge and customer care, the rest of the process is just intolerable:( read more

We needed new kitchen and bathroom floors and an ad brought us into the showroom. Charlie Tran was great in helping us to choose our flooring, place our orders and then coming to our house to assess the installation work to be done. The ordering and sales processes went very well. Installation was a bit of a challenge. The kitchen flooring was done in a little over a day and turned out beautifully. However the bathroom (it is a small bathroom) took 3 weeks because they were short one tile. The lead time for delivery of the one tile was 2 weeks. In the meantime I had to email and call repeatedly after the floor was laid to get the installers back to grout it before the plumbers could step on the floors to work on the bathroom sink and toilet. The grout was not available when the floor was initially laid. I would like to commend the lead installer, Oscar for the many trips that he had to make to complete the job. He and his team were professional and did good work but were held up by the unavailability of materials. Charlie came through and rushed the grout then later the last tile over. Thank you Charlie and Steve ( installation manager). If not for the delays in materials resulting in installation glitches this would have been a 5 star review. We are very happy with our new kitchen and bathroom floors! They are both gorgeous. read more

I've never written a Yelp review before. I've never had service so bad that I've felt the need to write one, and like most people I never think to when I have great service. That all changes today. The Floor Store in Sunnyvale has provided me with the single worst customer experience I've ever had in my life. I was given an estimated delivery date of one week from my initial purchase date. That's been revised 3 times now, and I STILL don't have my flooring. We're quickly approaching TWO MONTHs after my order date. And this isn't even for a big/complicated order. It's for one piece of sheet vinyl, 12 ft x 6 ft. On top of that, I've had to hound these people for information. I've been told no less than 7 times I'd get a call back from a sales associate on a future date with information. I've gotten one. They've attempted to make things better by offering me 35% back on my order. That's a fine gesture, but it doesn't do me any good if I don't have my flooring... My recommendation would be to never deal with this store unless you have absolutely no time constraints on your project. And absolutely do not believe whatever estimate they give you on when your order will arrive. read more

Walked into the store and spent like 10-15 mins and we knew what we wanted. Gave all our info to Carol to let us know what would the discounted price be and the timelines for delivery. She messaged us the next day and after all the research and the numerous quotes that we took, we got a fantastic deal with a dealer from the state of IN with $3 discount per sqft + free shipping + no state tax. Told carol that we are going with someone else and thank you, she asked us for the quote wherein the floor store would match. Sent her our quote and told her that we would be happy if they would match to what ever deal I have received (she initiated this and we were happy to give it a shot - had no gain rather will be paying $150 extra to our contractor to pick up the material from their store whereas the IN store was sending the material to my place for no cost).I told her that I would pay exactly on what my initial quote stated and not a penny more which she agreed to. Carol leaves a message saying they can adjust and get us an invoice with the exact number that I was quoted from IN. We called her back and sent messages to sign off on it and guess what, she doesn't respond. I called up the store landline and Charlie picked up and was awesome (4.5 stars to Charlie, -0.5 stars as he didn't close our deal because carol initiated the discussion), he sent us the invoice, we signed it online and emailed it back and gave our credit card details and he helped us with this after store closing time. We did asked him for extra transition mouldings which were like $60 each but our initial quote that these guys said that will match was $36 each. Charlie said they can't do any further matching. So we decided to stick to the initial order which is just the flooring and not the mouldings. He said carol will contact us the next day and will keep us posted on the timelines of the delivery and will send us a receipt. Surprise! Carol wastes 2 days of our time and the next day evening, tells us that they can't place the order and can't match the quote. When asked to email us the void invoice signed, she just denies to do it rather sends me a text saying we deleted the credit card details. Hello! You initiated the deal, we were being polite and said that we had a better deal, didn't mention anything else, she initiated the match and wasted 2 days of our time just because we said that we want the moldings quote to be matched as well. When she denied to match for moldings we wanted her to go ahead with the flooring only and she denies to match that too after the invoice was signed and card details were given. I wish Charlie was our point of contact over Carol. Don't I have the right to buy who ever gives me the best quote. But she had no right to waste my time for nothing. I received a 40% discount plus from efloors.com with no shipping, no taxes, delivered and place in the garage from my initial store and it's all been done and looks absolutely gorgeous. I had the task of selecting new flooring and carpet for a condo in Marin County. I had four weeks to get the place ready for renters. I chose the Sunnyvale store because I live close by and could go back and forth and check out samples. Chris met me up at the condo, took measurements and gave me a fair bid for the floor and carpet. I told him my deadline and he said they could have it installed in two weeks. Chris was also helpful with confirming that the underlay of the floor met the specs required by the HOA. The materials came in a week later and the North bay installers were quick to notify me when they received the materials to set up an installation appointment. They were so fast, I wasn't ready for them and I actually had to push the installation out to make sure the place was cleared out and ready for them. This has been a long journey with The Floor Store as our house remodel turned house rebuild has taken over 1.5 years to complete. I believe my littlest one was just a few weeks old when we first looked for flooring in the Sunnyvale / Cupertino area. We looked at S&G carpet as well and after some comparison, we settled on The Floor Store for their more diverse collections, friendly staff and pricing. We met Steve, Charlie, Mike and a few others over the course of this time. We mostly worked with Charlie (Steve was great too!), but Charlie was the person who handled our account. We got our Mannington wood floors, our Karastan carpets, fire place tiles and kitchen tiles all through The Floor Store and Charlie helped us through every step of the way. Charlie is quick to respond with quotes, quote adjustments, special requests for samples; he worked hard to make sure the customer saw all their options before making their final decision. When I couldn't leave the house (life with baby and a toddler) to see certain items, he would send me photos. Charlie is sharp, quick to understand what you want and is a great listener. We had an incident with our carpet installation and it was during a really bad time as we were about to move back into the house. Charlie stayed on top of the case and made sure to get our new carpets installed as soon as possible to prevent further delay (our lease was ending and our movers were booked!). Now, this is a great simplification of the carpet issue that occurred, there were many details and stress that would cause anyone to lose sleep and have their hair fall out. Fortunately, Charlie (and Steve) kept things calm, were very honest with the process and timeline and allowed for what eventually became some pretty great carpet installed into our home. They do their best to keep their customers happy. After installation was complete, Charlie visited to make sure things were done right and there were no further concerns.
