I'm not great at leaving reviews, but I had such a great experience ordering from them via Door Dash--and since I couldn't tip the store staff--it's the least I can do. I live in CA and wanted to send sthg thoughtful last-minute to my sibling on their bday (we are very ADHD and don't typically send bday gifts to each other). When searching "gifts," in DD, I was happy to see this shop pop up with some great and affordable selections, especially at 6pm. I did check their site to see if they did their own deliveries bc I know DD takes a high cut, but their same day cutoff was noon (very understandable), so I was glad to have the option. They have a quality section of cards and offer to write in them for you if you ask in the Special Instructions box. Because my sib is an alcohol rep, I chose a whiskey themed card about aging well which inspired me to write a punny note. I also had ordered a potted plant which was pictured in a white ceramic pot, and requested in the instructions that if there were different pots to pick from, to choose a darker toned one because my sib's apt has a "dark academia" vibe to it. They had some well priced little gifts, so I added a cute plant marker pack and a large tube of bath salts. I received a call shortly after placing the order from Sara(h) at the shop. She said unfortunately that the whiskey card was out of stock and let me know of some other options, one of which she described as dark academia adjacent, with ravens on black and gold. We decided it was funny to keep the whiskey themed note and she agreed to add in a little sketch of a whiskey rocks glass. When I saw the photo later, I saw that she'd also used the card envelope to write the original text from the front of the whiskey card; a perfect touch. She also said that there was a potted plant in a metallic pot that sounded perfect and way more fitting than what was pictured. Not only was my sibling very happy to receive the gifts, but was excited to have a plant instead of flowers, and said it looks so good in their home (before I'd said anything). They thought the card story was funny too and said Sara did a great job with it as well as the packaging of everything else. Great experience! Will def be my go-to spot for celebratory, sympathy and all other occasions for my handful of Seattle friends when I can be there in-person. read more

My friend sent me flowers from this company. She picked the florists choice hand wrapped bunch (not 100% sure of the name). The bouquet itself is beautiful as far as the composition and chosen flower types, but the quality is really bad. My friend ordered through DoorDash, so maybe flowers through the app aren't given the same attention as orders from another source. Mainly my issue is a lot of the flowers are "on the edge" and this bouquet (which I got just yesterday) is probably going to have to be thrown out today. My friend added Peonies and the two that were included are literally rotting and have mold. The fern leaves are dropping their spores all over the table. I am not asking for perfection, but I think most people expect a bouquet to get delivered and it should have mixed blooms that will continue to open over a few days. All of these flowers are fully bloomed and close to shedding/wilting. Since this was a "hand wrapped" bouquet, I'm disappointed that the flourist who made it chose to include such poor quality flowers. I'm sure it's related to the DoorDash order as that probably takes a cut of the profits rather than direct ordering but maybe they shouldn't offer that delivery option if they are just going to send trash. The second star really is just for the look of the bouquet as I have no issue with that. I'm Just glad that didn't pay for it myself. Be cautious if you are ordering in any form online without seeing it yourself. read more

I've probably received more than a dozen flowers from The Flower Lady throughout the years (purchased by my husband) and have bought at least a few of my own. EVERY time, the flowers have been great. They also last forever. I was just noticing today that the roses I received on my anniversary four days ago, still look fantastic. I wish I would have taken a photo of the bundle because they were arranged perfectly before I set them in water. You can at least see the quality. My thoughtful friend recently sent me flowers because my mother passed away. Unfortunately, I was unavailable when they tried to contact me because the address was wrong. When I called them with the correct address, I was told that a delivery attempt had already been made and that I would need to come and pick up the flowers. They said I was so far away, but the distance was only 3 miles. Or they would need to call the original service they were ordered from to cover the costs. The wrong address was not their fault, and while I empathize with a business trying to cover their expenses, the whole experience was about the transaction and their needs. This company needs to remember about service, the why behind sending flowers, and the experience someone is trying to give when sending them. Their profit is more important than your gesture. My goal here is not to get anyone fired or in trouble, but to encourage the owner and operator of this business to remember why people send flowers and the importance of customer experience. I don't think the person helping me was rude or negative, and I don't blame them because it felt like there was poor training or underlying pressures impacting this experience -- the right operational principles and company culture could have prevented this. read more

I started buying flower arrangements from Vivian in the Fall of 2000 when I first started dating my wife who worked on Eastlake. It was purely just proximity that led to the first purchase, but it was the artistry of Vivian that kept me coming back. I was buying an arrangement every month to be delivered on the day I met my wife. This went on for about a year and a half and then it was repeated a bit less frequently until my wife's business moved. Forward 22 years later and it is our 19th Wedding anniversary. Just a matter of nostalgia and curiosity drove me to look up "The Flower Lady". Yep, she is still going strong!! I ordered a nice arrangement with a vase and delivery. I asked the young lady who took the order to just do that "Flower Lady thing". Their arrangements are uniquely beautiful. My only small complaint is that I called early in the morning and the gentleman who answered the phone was a bit short and dismissive. Do not order flowers from here! I ordered from them for Mother's Day and was sorely disappointed with what they delivered to my mom. I paid them $100 for a "deluxe" bouquet and a box of chocolates (ridiculous $21 delivery fee included in that amount). When my mom sent me pictures of the bouquet she received, I wanted to cry because I spent so much money and put so much effort into choosing the right bouquet and it was NOTHING like what I ordered. I felt so terrible for sending my mom such a horrible Mother's Day gift. I paid extra for the "deluxe" rather than "standard" bouquet because I thought it would include a more full bouquet but I was wrong. To top it off, they failed to deliver the box of chocolates so that was a wasted $10. When I wrote to them to give them a chance to rectify this, Vicky was very understanding and offered to give me a refund. However, I needed to call to provide my credit card number. I tried calling numerous times but Vicky was never available to speak to me. I did manage to talk to Vivian, who was not helpful at all. She told me that I was wrong and that the bouquet looked fine. If that is how they treat customers and if that is the accepted quality of bouquets, then I definitely will not be ordering anything from this store again. In the end, it looks like they refunded my credit card for $30. It's not nothing but refunding me for 1/3 of the bouquet and ignoring the box of chocolates that I never got does not seem sufficient to me. Do not make the same mistake I made. read more

As I entered with my paid invoice open and visible on my phone, a friendly gentlemen started to search for my arrangement after I shared with him the image and order details. The Flower Lady emerged from behind the counter asking me to leave the shop into POURING RAIN, citing COVID and it being 'crowded' in the shop. I was the only customer inside at the time. And I am completely empathetic of the added stress to businesses during the pandemic. But when I opened the door the lady just snipped at me in the rudest tone "could you wait outside?!" No please. I ordered flowers for my friend's baby shower and it was an easy process online. I liked their wide selection and that they offered more than the FTD type standards. I upgraded my bouquet to the deluxe, but I think the outcome ended up looking more like the standard version, hence my 3 star review. I wish it had looked a bit bigger/nicer for the occasion. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. 1. The flowers delivered were hideous compared to the flowers on the website. I could have picked the flowers out from a free flower patch down the street. 2. When I called the shop to discuss the order, the man on the phone had zero interest in providing a resolution. 3. I then drove to the flower shop to present what I received and they agreed the flowers looked nothing like what was ordered. 4. They offered a refund for the flowers but not a full refund which included a $12.99 delivery fee. When I requested a refund on the delivery fee for the level of inconvenience caused to me as a customer for having to come in to resolve the issue the man LITERALLY yelled at me saying it wasn't his problem. "Oh well", "Not my problem", Get out of my shop" were his exact words. I have never experienced such horrible quality of product or customer service from any company before. Not acceptable. I strive to support small and local business. But this business left a sour taste. I'm in SF and wanted to order flowers to be delivered to a friend in Seattle. On the order form, I noted it was a business, if you knew Seattle then the address will tell you it's an office building in BUSY downtown Seattle. Most businesses won't allow just anyone into their building. A DELIVERY driver and business would know this. Yes, i inputed her phone number wrong but he was able to contact the company. The driver was told my friend would be on the way down. Tracy said "the deliver guy waited more than 5 minutes and left." Pretty sure it takes longer than 5 minutes to go in and out of any building to deliver flowers. WTF?! So basically your driver is LAZY. So i ordered from another site. read more

support these guys. I placed an order for flowers to be delivered with a full weeks notice. By no means was the bouquet cheap. There were 3 selections for sizes. Standard, Deluxe, and Premium. I opted for the biggest bouquet, Premium. What I received looked nothing like the photo and was just sad. I immediately called the store and spoke with Vivian? Whom I think is the owner. At first she offered to have the driver pick them up and offered a full refund. To which I didn't at first want to do, I had hoped for some sort of compensation as I didn't want the recipient to be empty handed. Talk about embarrassing. Which is when she then offered a $20 refund and for MYSELF to return the flowers to the shop in Seattle. For real?! Who does that?! I then asked why she was offering this as "compensation". To which she said, "well we have been talking for 15minutes and the delivery guy is too far away now." W.T.F. I at this point checked the call and it had only been 10 minutes.....After correcting her, she asked me to count the stems of each flower type to ensure quality control......... Yes the counts were correct, but, can you honestly look at the photos and tell me this is right? No, you can't. After a few more minutes of arguing with me, she went back to her original offer of refunding the flowers but not the delivery fee. My office has ordered one other time from her and had no issues, so I am very disappointed that my expectations were not met for quality and customer service.
