First time I have ever been disappointed with flowers from The Flower Shop! I ordered a beautiful fall bouquet for Sunday church and provided a picture of what I wanted. What was delivered does not look even close to what I ordered. Much less colorful and smaller. These will be on full view to the entire congregation in the front of the church and I was so disappointed, I ordered another arrangement from a different florist which will be delivered to me on Saturday. I donated about 200 vases to these guys a year or so ago and thought I'd get an arrangement worthy of my kindness but very disappointed! read more

Great flower shop located in a small plaza. The florist is very helpful and they keep their flowers in a large fridge to keep them fresh! The little water capsules put on the ends of the flower stems help to keep bouquets fresh no matter how long they are out of water. The price is based on amount and type of flowers in your order and the florist will work with you to let you know the types of flowers they have available as well as their respective costs. Make sure to order your flowers EARLY! Their supply can get a bit low around "celebration seasons" such as graduations at the end of April and Greek probates at the end of March/beginning of April. When it comes to purchasing flowers, I stray from bright colored flowers and end up making bouquets of random greenery and the occasional odd flower. The Flower Shop often has an eclectic collection of available flowers and greenery which I'm able to rely on to make these types of bouquets. From time to time they will be wiped out of certain plants, but this tends to be when I visit too late in the day on Mother's Day. They generally have suppliers come by once or twice a day, so they can obtain an item (if in season) fairly quickly. The staff I've dealt with have always been very helpful and not too pushy. When I need some ideas or suggestions, they have always focused on what I need and have taken the time to make sure they offer the best recommendation possible. Usually if there's something special I need, they'll pull out the catalogs and go through a variety of selections until I find what I'm looking for. After frequently shopping here, my wife and I felt more than comfortable using them for our wedding arrangements. We consulted with their staff on three separate occasions (due to our indecisiveness), made our selections and were told when the flowers would be available for pick up. They also acquired some of the special order items, so we could preview our selections before committing to a larger order. The day before our wedding they had everything ready to go, all of the flowers were fresh and the center pieces looked exactly like we wanted them to. I ordered flowers for my sister my brother-in-law for a hospice facility. I asked for a long lasting happy arrangement with sunflowers. I arrived four days later and there was one sunflower and the arrangement was already dying. I was severely disappointed with this arrangement because I had a conversation about what I wanted, long lasting happy flowers including sunflowers. There was exactly one sunflower in the arrangement. Usually arrangements with sunflowers and mums last for a long time however sadly this arrangement is ready for the garbage after five days. read more

Not only are the folks super nice (and fun), but the flower arrangement was perfect and all at less than $50.00! I was looking for an arrangement of plants for someone with pollen allergies, and they had several beautiful ones already made up which they further spruced up at no extra charge. I even got a military discount - thank you SO much!!! After trying 2 other florists in Gainesville - one ("Gainesville Flower" on SW 34th - I don't mind throwing them under the bus) who unfortunately is the closest to my home. When my mom ordered flowers online to be delivered to me, she accidentally put my address as the one the receipt was to be emailed to (she's old and computers are not her thing). Where she had ordered a $120.00 bouquet of lilies and roses for my birthday, I received a flowers in the same color-scheme, but with one of those plain glass, $5.00 vases (not even remotely as pretty as the one ordered) and the type of chrysanthemums, carnations and greens I can get for $20.00 at Publix. The other florist I tried was closed even though the sign on their door said it was open, so I simply picked this one at random. I just found a terrific place to get flowers in Gainesville. The Flower Shop. Betty Ann and the others did a spectacular job of creating a gorgeous sunflower bouquet for my niece's wedding. The florist worked from an online photo we provided and the hand bouquet that resulted was exactly what the bride requested. Simple, bright, beautifully made! The sunflowers were locally grown, fresh, and perfect. And they remained so, despite the fact that the bouquet had to be made on a Friday, then transported to St. Augustine in 90 degree heat for a beach wedding the next morning. The florist packed our cooler with the bouquet in a vase of water, surrounded by ice to keep the flowers fresh for the journey. I waited until after the Mothers Day rush to even approach a florist about the bouquet. By the time I made up my mind about exactly what was needed, there was just one week left to special order local sunflowers and get all the other components for the bouquet. I was very lucky! The Flower Shop pulled it together for me with beautiful results, and they smiled all the while. That's a class act! read more

I ordered flowers for a co-workers husband, and since the funeral was out of town, the flower shop had to subcontract another flower shop to bring a 'comparable' arrangement. When the arrangement arrived, it was not comparable and I was very disappointed in the quality of what was delivered. I called the flower shop, and they apologized and told me I can have a free arrangement for the trouble. They fixed the mistake, even though it technically wasn't there mistake. Gorgeous flowers! We recently worked with The Flower Shop for our wedding flowers and this was the best decision. Terri was so helpful throughout the entire planning process, she answered all of our questions and had great ideas for flower arrangements. She really cares about your interests and taste and wants to make sure the flowers turn out exactly how you envisioned. She even created a sample bouquet several months before the wedding to make sure we were on the same page (and we definitely were). The Flower Shop delivered our bouquets and boutonnieres to our ceremony venue. They also decorated an arbor we setup for the ceremony; it was decorated with greenery and it came out perfect! They also brought flower arrangements for the dinner tables to our reception venue and decorated our cake stand. Terri then came back to our ceremony venue, took our arbor for us and stored it at The Flower Shop for us to pick up later in the week. This was a huge help because we had to remove everything from the ceremony venue that day! Terri made the experience go so smoothly and it was stress-free. The day of the wedding we were in awe of just how beautiful all the bouquets and flower arrangements turned out. The purple colors were just stunning and looked so beautiful in all of our photos. The colors worked so well with all the bridal party colors too. They came out exactly as we had hoped. We received so many compliments from our wedding guests. After the wedding, I didn't want to part with my beautiful bouquet so I preserved it with silica gel and have it in a vase in our house.
