Flies for local waters. "Fishpond" fly carrier.

Staff had great knowledge and recommendations of flies for local waters. Friendly and helpful.

Spent two days with Mary Ann Dozier on both the Crooked Creek and the Fall River. Mary Ann taught us how to Euro-nymph several years ago and we are hooked. Caught quite a few fish the first day, but mainly learned a lot of new techniques which we appreciated so much. Second day at the Fall River, we did some dry fly fishing and realized the fish were smarter than we were. But still was really fun. Went to the Hatchery in the afternoon, no one was around. Caught some beautiful Rainbows. We had a blast. What a great day with a terrific Guide. I had my line in every tree, bush and stump you could find and at one point caught Mary Ann. Thank you for a fabulous 2 days. We will be back.

What an amazing day of fishing. And, The Fly Fisher's Place never disappoints. This was our 4th trip and 3rd guide. Today we were lucky to have Griffin for a walk and wade on the Fall River. Do not be fooled by his young age; he worked so hard to put us on fish and has a lovely natural style of instructing. It is truly a gift. We would request him again in a heartbeat.

We are from out of town and went in looking for fishing line for our popcorn and cranberry chain for our Christmas tree and were happy to find what we were looking for! Very kind service! Thanks!

The Sportsman's Warehouse (SW) in Bend, OR sells Columbia PFD Rambler shorts with an attached $50…read moreprice tag. An internet search revealed that many other stores currently list them at half off that price, clearly closing them out for the end of summer. SW online lists these shorts as a clearance item and offers them on sale from $31.77 - $45.00. I purchased them and another item at the store only because I had a $50 gift card from a previous promotion, and I was passing through Bend. Until the next day, I failed to notice that I was charged $85 for the $50 shorts that other stores are closing out for $22-$32 and SW online is closing out for a $31.77-$45. I then called while 30 miles from Bend, with no plans to ever return there. The answering clerk stated that PFG had raised their price. This is a questionable claim, because Columbia manufactures these shorts and offers them for $50 on their website, and SW online and other retailers are offering them at clearance prices. The clerk then informed me I could only receive a refund for their having overcharged me 70% by coming in. That would cost me far more in time and driving expenses than the $35 that SW stole from me. I escalated to a manager who claimed company policy would not allow a refund over the phone due to "risk". He could not articulate what this mysterious "risk" was despite online and phone credit transactions being a worldwide routine business practice. I claimed that SW must find it more acceptable to cheat a customer by overcharging them than to possibly expose the company to this mysterious "risk". Presumably for lack of a reasonable reply, that mid-level manager claimed there was nothing he could do. I requested to talk to someone who could make decisions. After about a minute, the manager returned to our call and stated that members of upper management weren't available, but "they would tell me the same thing." He offered me a $40 gift card and stated that is all he could do. Clearly, that solution ensures any refund I receive of the money SW stole from me be spent on heavily marked up merchandise at SW. Apparently, cheating a fixed income senior citizen (and perhaps many other customers) by overcharging, knowing that a high percentage of customers cannot economically return to the Bend, Oregon store, is acceptable business practice by SW, a corporation worth $43.7 million. Representatives of the Bend, OR SW store ensured that a "risk" does exist, but it is the customer that incurs that risk. I will ensure that my future purchases are made elsewhere. Being short of options for restitution, I will spend the $40 gift card and not a dime more, I will post negative reviews on every possible site such as here and Google and Yelp, and will be filing a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division of the Oregon Department of Justice. Please help me to ensure that SW's unacceptable business practices cost them far more than the $35 they stole from me.

Here is my review of clear lake for row boat use!…read more We got here at 930 am. Found the pay box at the entrance $9, no cash. There is an option to pay at the bottom which we should have done because they take the national park passes there (see picture). We were able to find parking in the main lot and there were a few people there. We weren't sure how the process of renting the boats or availability of life jackets. There is a shop that sells food, snacks, drinks, ice cream , and desserts. They also have a selection of fishing items, shirts, jackets. We paid for the boat - $60 for the large boat all day. The life jackets were plentiful and available. My husband rowed most of the time because I am not a good rower. We made it from the dock to the start of the river that you can't go past which is good since you could hear the rapids. The way to the left was a lot calmer and clear. We had a blast out on the lake. You could see down near the shallows but not in the middle of the lake. Make sure to bring sunscreen because there isn't much shade. The facilities are great!! Two bathrooms in the shop. Large tables to sit and enjoy a hot cooked meal or ice cream. I am so glad we were able to make a morning on the lake super easy and stress free! Next time I'm thinking of renting a kayak or a stand up paddle board. That would be fun! If you are in the area make sure to stop by early. As we were leaving, the parking lot was filled up so make sure to get there early! I hope my review and pictures help you plan for a successful visit to Clear Lake!

They are all beautiful, but Deschutes is special. It spans the area between the McKenzie River area to the high desert in eastern Oregon. You start in the warm(er) area and by the time you hit the summit there's snow on the ground. And as you're reaching higher elevation, you find yourself passing through the lava beds. One of the volcanos in the forest was used by the Apollo astronauts in the 60s. It's a really peaceful drive, and a breathtaking one. Suttle Lake is near Sisters, and it's really beautiful.
