Coming from NY, my sister and I wanted to try something new and we were definitely not disappointed. We found parking down the street and walked over, which could probably get tricky on busier days, but I'm here for the food anyway! The staff was friendly and everything seemed to move quickly and efficiently. Even when it was busy, the noise level was never too high. Prices were reasonable too, which I appreciated. I got the breakfast burrito with turkey bacon, a side of grits, and the stuffed french toast. My sister got chicken and waffles with french toast, eggs, and chicken sausage. Every single thing was SO good that we literally came back again the next day before our flight home. Those grits especially... probably the best grits I've had that weren't made by my grandmother. Smooth, flavorful, perfect texture. And the stuffed french toast!!!! Wow. Came in on a busy Sunday and only had to wait 15 mins to be seated at the bar. There was a bit of a wait on food, but I was easily distracted by the mimosa flights. Heavy handed on the champagne, I did not leave fully sober. The chicken biscuit benny was really good. Chicken was juicy and the gravy wasn't too salty, just right. My husband wanted to try something new and he was craving fresh in house made biscuits and was sadly disappointed as we were given biscuits that resembled and tasted exactly like Popeye's biscuits. Needless to say, that's not a compliment. We're selective in where we choose to dine because we don't care for processed foods and prefer fresh ingredients. A few weeks ago I visited a Flying Biscuit Café and thoroughly enjoyed it so I wanted to try another location. This one didn't disappoint! It gives off a cool city-brunch vibe that feels lively but relaxed. My food was delicious once again. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Scramble which is three eggs w/wood-smoked salmon and dill cream cheese. There wasn't quite enough cream cheese this time but it was still flavorful. As always, the apple butter on the biscuit was a highlight. I noticed my hollandaise was missing so I'm glad I asked. It pairs perfectly with their famous moon-dusted potatoes. My husband enjoyed the Egg-Stravaganza and I loved seeing peppermint tea on the menu at this location. I enjoyed it with my meal. My husband ordered the White Russian which he also enjoyed. Came in on a Sunday after church. Parking is very limited and you need to pay attention to street signs. There was a wait but trust me when I say it's worth it. Plus the wait wasn't that bad. We were told there was about a 30-40 min wait and we had a table after about 20mins. We sat at the bar, yes you have to be put on the wait list to sit at the bar on the weekends (I asked). Service was great and quick. Our waitress had a great bubbly personality. The mimosa flight was a great deal and well made! Fresh juice and heavy pours make great mimosas! Side note: when you sit at the bar, you may or may not get samples of other drinks as they are made for customers. With that being said, get the margarita at your own risk lol. The food was on point. Eggs made just as I ordered. Bacon was crispy just how I like it. This was my first time having chicken sausage and I was impressed. The grits stole the show for me. Saturday 10 am, we stopped in for breakfast before heading to Cidercade, and The Flying Biscuit was fantastic! Despite being a Saturday morning, it was not super crowded. There were a couple of groups there post 5K. We headed to the bar where there was plenty of seating! I had the biscuit, eggs, and gravy with grits. The grits were shockingly good (and I'm not a grit person AT ALL!!) The sausage is a chicken sausage but really good chopped up in the gravy. My husband ordered the Flying Biscuit breakfast, and those "moon dust" potatoes deserve their own spotlight. The rosemary-garlic-salt-pepper blend gives them an incredible flavor that sets them apart from your everyday breakfast potatoes. Even though it's a franchise, the food tastes fresh and homemade. They even have a section for vegetarians and vegans. After debating on whether to get the french toast or the veggie scramble, I went for the veggie scramble which was accompanied by well seasoned potatoes. The eggs were fine with the right ratio of veggies and cheese. What confused me halfway through that there was no bread or flying biscuit that accompanied my plate. I had to recheck the menu on my phone to confirm that it was supposed to come with my dish. By that point, I didn't want to ask for it since I was almost done with my eggs. Oh well. I drank 3 glasses of Arnold Palmers. I probably would have had to drink more with that biscuit. read more

It's located at the bottom of the Forth at Navigation apartments, and has limited parking on the side of the building and a few reserved spots. I ordered an orange juice, and my boyfriend got bottomless coffee. Both were good but nothing remarkable. For our entrees, I had the French toast, and my boyfriend went with the Piedmont omelet. Both dishes were delicious! The French toast was sweet without being overwhelming, and the omelet, despite the sausage bacon combo felt surprisingly light. Both meals came with a side and we both got potatoes. They were flavorful and soft although I personally prefer a crispier texture, but that's just a preference. Service was fast, which was great since we wanted to be in and out. Overall, I really enjoyed the meal, but not enough to come back. Another Sleeper from the weekend! I just learned about this place and it's so cute on the inside. I was instantly greeted and sat down. My server was attentive and knowledgeable. In summary: there's some training that needs to be done. Although the food is affordable, this experience ensured that I won't be back. I was excited to try this place but the experience was destroyed before we were even seated. We were told that our party of 7 (4 adults and 1 child) would be seated within 15min by the host but then 30min passed and he assured us that we were next on the list. Another 15min passed and I went inside again to see if there was an update. I observed several tables set for 6 were only occupied by 2 people. After 45min the host asked if we'd be ok sitting at separate tables and then proceeded to sit another party of 2 at a table set for 6 while there were 6 chairs available at the bar AND after telling us we were next on the list. At this point we'd been waiting 1hr and 25min. I told the host that we expected to be seated at that table since he told us we were next ace he said "but they were already on the list waiting first" I responded "but you said we were next and that's a table for 6" he responded "just be patient" and walked away Is waiting for 1hr and 25min after being told a 15min wait not being patient?? That was the final straw. We were finally seated at two tables across from each other and I addressed the young manager. I informed her the host needs to be trained on how to seat customers and customer service. Not only will he cost the owner money by not occupying tables properly but he will cost the servers money by not occupying tables correctly. Coming from management and the service industry this was awful. I also told her that it would've been nice to see a manager checking on her customers, questioning why there were groups of ppl standing in the middle of the floor and large tables only having two occupants, and acknowledging our wait. To at least offer some sort of compensation for our issues. She thanked me for my concern and said they're working on the host and then brought us complementary biscuits. Our server was Tosha. I have zero complaints about her. Her Service was fast, correct and efficient. She played with my child and checked out our tickets correctly. After reading the reviews I'm not sure where you guys ate that reviewed it so high or if it's rigged cause the food was beyond underwhelming. The moon dust potato's were cold and dry. My pancake was rubbery, not kidding it took some effort to cut it. Now let's get to the cheese & biscuit, the biscuit bottom was ok, the top was dry, the chicken patty was thin and i didn't realize i was getting a slice of cheese and not the melted cheese that was advertised. Our waiter was really nice and super patient. We had our toddler with us and the staff was really accommodating. The restaurant was really clean and orderly. The food was great. The grits were super creamy and worth their award winning title. My only complaint is that my pancake took a very long time to come out after all the other food. I also never received the biscuit I ordered. The restaurant wasn't busy at all so I'm not sure what the hold up was on the pancake. One of the best biscuits ever had, in the top 10. Also tried the donut holes with powdered sugar and crème anglaise. Not my fav, expected something more like a beignet but it's a cake donut.
