Stopped by this place on recommendation on a super busy Sunday during Brunch. I was traveling solo so I wanted to sit inside at the bar but the hostess said she was saving the seats for a party and all she had available was a table of 4 outside (in 90 degree weather). I said ok because I was hungry but also felt bad taking up such a large table just myself. I ended up ordering the Chicken Sliders with cayenne maple honey and absolutely would go back just for that honey! Just a tad spicy but not overwhelming where you can't enjoy your food and I don't do spicy. Be prepared for long seating waits and order as soon as you can because it took over an hour to get my meal but I'm happy to say it was absolutely worth the wait! read more

I'm not sure if I can post words of how good their food is... I can't spread the word fast enough. It's a small spot so I wouldn't suggest sending a large group more than 4 or 5 people, as they were completely full at 9pm on a Sunday for food. We tried the Brussels sprouts with Parmesan on top. These were absolutely Devine! They came out hot and fresh, so good for an appetizer. We then picked the Mac and cheese of the day, they added sausage. Holy moly, this was one of the best Macs I've ever had! Lots of cheesy sauce drowned the noodles and sausage. I couldn't stop until the dish was empty. We had the side of crispy fried onion rings. Chose this spot based on the reviews and chose the menu items because they were the items eaten and raved about by Guy Fieri from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I had the Duck Wings and Beef Wellington bites off of the appetizer menu for my meal. I guess I had high expectations because I was completely underwhelmed. The duck wings had a gamey tasted that overpowered the seasoning. The Beef Wellington bites used very tough cuts of meat. I had to chew and chew and chew... Tried on the recommendation of a friend. We were traveling with a 5 year old, and a 9 year old. Obviously, no children's menu. However, the staff were all VERY pleasant, made us feel welcome, went above and beyond to please the 2 little girls (they split a burger and fries), and my partner in dining and I split the Patty Melt and sweet potato fries. The food was delicious (it is BIG food), they didn't charge us for splitting, no complaints or faces when we drank water, and the girls tea. There are so many things on the menu I'd love to try, but I need a crew! Wilmington friends and family...y'all going have to go with us! First of all, ignore the review from "Ginger" on 04/10/22, or read it, just to get a chuckle on how bad her grammar is. Can't take her review seriously. BUT, let me tell you. This place is excellent. Like many reviewers have said, it is small, which is not a bad thing. I was able to get an open seat at the bar, while larger parties were waiting for a table. Like may places, I pretty much had an idea of what I was going to get, food wise. For a beverage, I opted for the Teaches Peaches, which is a local brew. A typical wheat beer, but it didnt have much peach flavor, which was disappointing. For food, I got the salmon club (no tomatoes) and the last of the mac & cheese. I saw the mac and cheese in the window. I didnt know it was a side option. The server asked if fries were ok, and I asked what my other options were, she mentioned the mac & cheese and I jumped on it. About 10 minutes later, the kitchen said they were out of mac & cheese. Sorry, not sorry for everyone else. Why? Cause it was great. Creamy, cheesy and hot. That salmon club was pretty good. Could have used more mayo. The salmon was cooked perfectly, but could have been seasoned more. As Im writing this review, im thinking about going back to get a burger for lunch. So, if you get a chance, GO! read more

Everything was a 5/5 stars, just the service was a little slow but it was a busy night so I doubt this is the norm. Once seated, our waitress was so kind in checking in on us and making conversation too. We sat outside and the waitress still changed the tv channel inside for us to watch a football game. I got the Hay Dios Mio with grilled chicken and it was a sufficient amount of spicy for someone who absolutely loves spicy food. This is seriously the BEST restaurant. The staff are so friendly. I came here because they offer a gluten free alternative bun for their burgers. And let me tell you it was the best gluten free bun I've ever tasted. I need the name of their supplier, or if they make it in house how do I order some? Seriously. Justin, not sure if owner or head chef, came out and gave me his information and told me if I give him notice he can make pretty much anything on the menu gluten free. I was shocked because normally with gluten allergies people are kind of rude like it's made up. We wanted to try this place while we were in Wilmington because of DDD. We went for Sunday brunch and stood outside until they opened. Place filled up quick. We got the Wellington bites that's made with fillet Mignon. The first one had silver skin that hubby couldn't get through. They were hot as sin for sure. Cherry port wine reduction was good. He got corn beef hash and I got chicken and waffles. The yolks on the CBH were too well done there was no yolk to coat the rest and they were rubbery. The onions and peppers should have been cooked more and cut up smaller and the meat was dry and stringy. The waffles were excellent but there was too much of everything. The chicken was dry. Why so much stuff? More is not better. Sausage gravy? Cheddar cheese and over cooked bacon, egg sandwiched between two waffles. Too much already then a whole side of fry's. I ate maybe a third. Hubby ate part of my fry's. I think restaurants should offer half size for those that just cannot eat that much, it's really not fair. The maple butter with cayenne was spot on. Why three stars? My group and I sat outside for our brunch meal :) Mike (our waiter) was exceptional! Attentive, informative, and on the ball. We started off with the Crispy Brussel Sprouts that were fresh Brussels sprouts fried till slightly crispy with duck fat, pancetta, topped with parmesan and lemon zest. This came with a green goddess dressing. I haven't tasted anything like this dressing, but it was so good and the perfect amount of creamy to balance out the fried Brussels sprouts. Mike was very informative letting our group know that the chicken and waffles was enough for two. I chose this order for my meal. It was crispy fried chicken with smoked cheddar, bacon, sausage gravy and a sunny side egg with maple-cayenne butter on fresh buttermilk pecan waffles. (15) The maple-cayenne butter definitely had a kick to it! And as you can see in the pictures one really is enough for two. Gosh, I really enjoy them, and I'm physically restraining myself from driving there now. Also, the atmosphere is quite nice, although it's a bit small place, but that's fine as long as you know ahead of time that, hey, Mr. "I'm in a rush but can you quickly seat my party of fifteen, m'kay?" You may not be seated immediately, if at all. Friendly, attentive service, with whom I've jovially chuckled and chatted as though we were being filmed for one of those feast scenes in a medieval movie where everyone is stuffed to the gills and happy as clams. The first time I went here was a few years ago and it was a great experience but upon returning this past weekend was quite disappointing. I went with my mom at about 4pm (wasn't busy) and sat at the bar but was not even acknowledged by any of the 6 workers behind the bar for awhile. It would have been nice to at least have gotten a water in the middle of summer. There was also someone's dirty water sitting next to me the entire time. What an amazing and great find here in Wilmington. Everything was absolutely amazing starting from the most beautiful and warm greeting, to the bar which Chris was absolutely hands down the best bartender/server/literally everything for us. We got the flirtini martini, green tea shots, the kolsch beer, the Kyle style burger (no mustard sub bacon jam) with Mac and cheese, and the big lew with poutine. Oh man, everything here was amazing. Best onion rings I've ever had, terrific mac and cheese, amazing fries, both plain and poutine laden, but the burgers...wow. The pimento burger with bacon jam? Sing it, sister. That's the real deal. There were two adequately spaced tables out front for Covid times and the staff were extremely conscientious and friendly. One of my favorite things about about coming here was the beautiful drive into down past one stunning house after another. It's a lovely area with lots of wonderful places for ice cream, fudge, cupcakes, and clearly, seriously world class burgers. Wilmington rocks, but particularly, so does fork n cork. read more

I've lost count of the times I've been to the downtown Fork N Cork establishment. Both with family and friends. It's got the BEST of everything. It's probably my favorite restaurant in Wilmington. Even when living in another city, when I'd come to visit in town, THIS is where i wanted to go. I won't lie, the place is small, and the wait list gets long... but it's worth it. I no longer eat meat so switching from the bacon jam on a burger was hard (wow, that bacon jam was amazing), but their impossible burger is impeccable. Their cheese appetizer is spectacular. Their fries and onion rings are 10/10. I very much enjoy the CJ smash mojito along with the other drinks on the menu. The music is usually classic rock which i find enjoyable, as does my mother who frequently goes "good song!". 100% recommend to anyone in town or visiting. Also check out their special boards. The servings are not small, so it's nice to split a meal sometimes and they are really great about that. read more

We decided on a nice day of Pokemon in downtown Wilmington. I was looking on yelp for a must try and this place did not disappoint. It was packed (obviously their food is good!). We ended up sitting at the bar which was a little tight. But it just allowed me and my husband to get nice a close. Haha We started with the scotch egg remind me of a egg covered with meat stuffing. The sauce was a nice touch! I got the hot chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese. The sandwich was huge and flavorful! It was really good but a little difficult to eat. I would recommend getting your sandwiches cut in half to devour it easier. The Mac and cheese is a must! It almost looks French onion soup on the top with all that delicious cooked cheese on the side of the bowl. It was cheese lava with bread crumbs and spiral noodles. Num! Maybe the best Mac and cheese I have ever had. My husband got a burger and enjoyed it. He was able to handle his sandwich a bit better and didn't have problems with it falling apart. The Fork n Cork looks very unassuming and small from the outside, but WOW! They have only a few tables, especially with the current Covid concerns, but it is so worth any wait, although to be honest we only waited 2-3 minutes. The menu may, at first glance, seem to be the same as other downtown joints. Do not make that assumption. The food is amazing. We started with the Crab Bread, which was amazing. Now crab is one of our very favorite foods on the planet, and we try crab dishes wherever we go. We have had some really great crab dishes around Wilmington, but this Crab Bread has taken the gold medal. It has just the right amount of cheese-to-crab ratio to excel in both categories. My wife order the Scwiss Burger, which from the description may lead you to believe it is just a regular old mushroom and Swiss burger. Believing that would be a tragic error. This is an amazing example of what other mushroom and Swiss sandwiches should strive to be. I order the Monte Christo sandwich. I'm not a little fella, and I was trying to be good and ordered the healthy ham, Swiss, and turkey that I know I should eat. While this sandwich is the ingredients that I was expecting, it was also so much more. Instead of the ingredients being "sandwiched" between pieces of bread or a bun, it is deep fried inside of giant beignets with a dusting of powdered sugar. Now if you are thinking that this combination doesn't sound good, smack yourself because it is amazing. It also comes with a side of raspberry dipping sauce which really puts it over the top. Wilmington has a lot of great places to eat, but the Fork'n'Cork is definitely at the top of the list. read more
