I had supper tonight at The Foundry. Though it promotes itself as an Irish gastropub, it was Jazzy Thursday Night featuring the Joe Petch Quartet ... and they were good! I ordered a meat lovers pizza ... it sounded interesting with the different kinds of meats. Paris, my server, gave me a head's up that it was thin crust pizza and I was okay with that. It was an okay pizza. The crust was crispy ... a bit too crispy. Nothing really stood out and it all tasted the same. Paris was friendly and took good care of me.

Great atmosphere, alright food. We went with two other couples on a Friday evening, so I expected a wait. Unfortunately it was a full hour from the time we ordered our food until it arrived at our table. I ordered the stuffed chicken, which came with the daily risotto, vegetables, and salad. The risotto was delicious, probably the best I have ever tasted. The chicken was dry, and not very tasty. The roasted vegetables were ok. I never did receive my salad. I will not be back to eat supper, but I will be back to drink and enjoy the live bands!

Just driving through looking to see a little of the local culture. Wandered upon the foundry to find a live jazz bad, huge selection of local beer and great food. A must see for the travelers

Food was late coming and was substantially overcooked. Will not come to this restaurant again.

Very noisy because it is such a large place. Food is nothing special. Great place to catch a band playing. Good for large groups.

Dissapointing. Came for the flights, which they don't do any more. Pickerel was over-cooked; rice was bland.

Continuing our motorhome trip to escape the Texas heat, we are in Kakabeka Falls at Happy Land RV…read morePark. We always ask locals and consult Yelp when looking for places to eat and have local/craft beer. We decided on Madhouse. It was a great experience. At first we weren't sure about eating there, so we sat at the bar to have a beer and look at the menu. The bartender was immediately cordial and welcoming. As we enjoyed a hazy IPA we struck up a conversation with her and looked at the menu. Another guy was at the bar and we struck up a conversation with him. The bartender and waitstaff seemed to know him well, so I asked if he worked there. He was the head chef. By the time we ate and left it was like we were old friends. Really enjoyed talking with them and getting some ideas for an early dinner. We decided to start with the beer cheese, nothing like I have ever experienced. It was very good and the pretzels were hot and fresh. An excellent appetizer. Then we split and order of tacos. Since the chicken tacos were a special of the day, we split an order of two and a side of fries. Does Canada celebrate Taco Tuesday? The tacos were excellent and a delicious twist on the ones we are accustomed to in Texas. We enjoyed the entire visit...food, beer, and conversation. I gave them each an American two dollar bill and they had never seen one. Win Win. I highly recommend this place. The bar became busy and cheerful, but not loud and boisterous. I'm glad we went there.

Our server was delightful and we loved the decor! Great pics on the walls! Dali, Heminway, Tom…read moreWaits, Hunter Thompson. The chicken tenders were the best I have ever eaten anywhere and i don't know what they cooked the wedge potatoes with but they were melt in your mouth. HH loved the sauted seafood pasta. A winner!
