Staying at the hotel, popped in for a beer and a bite a little bit before seven on a Sunday night. The restaurant was relatively quiet with most of the Window seats occupied. We asked for a table near the window, so we could look out and enjoy the view of the bay but it needed to be cleared. The waitress seamed irritated by this and told us to go sit in the lobby and wait until it was clear. A second waitress came to seat us was not as grumpy but still seamed a bit off. We ordered a burger and a salad, basic items. The burger was overcooked, we asked for a salad with mixed green garden lettuce, but it was served with just Romain lettuce, And finally, we found a hair in the salad. They took 20% off the bill but it was still gross. I heard the table behind us behind us complaining about their food as well and they got 20% knocked off their bill for something that went wrong. We were definitely disappointed with the high prices that this restaurant charges and the quality of food we were presented with With so many incredible restaurants within walking distance, being in this high-end neighborhood and associated with the Marriott hotels, this restaurant is way off brand. read more

Staying here for a week in December. Christmas vibes throughout the hotel which is refreshingly nice. The food here is well above par for the area, not to be disrespectful. Great space as well. They have a BBQ theme for the meats and this results in some of the best chicken wings I have ever had. And I am well travelled. The menu is reasonably priced which is a pleasant surprise. We stayed at the Delta and got room service every day from Anchor & Ore. Just delicious! We got: Peameal and Smoked Paprika Eggs Benny A & O Breakfast Sandwhich on a croissant (delicious!!!) Pain Perdu - life changing. You must try this. I'm obsessed. I still think about it a week later English breakfast - yummy but they didn't serve black pudding, we got two asparagus instead Steel cut oats - nothing to rave about but it was served with brown sugar, sliced almonds etc They serve Starbucks coffee here too! Decor and location are very nice but the brisket and the accompaniments were tasteless. I have never eaten a brisket that was so dry and tough. I was given a gravy to help out with the dryness and it was equally tasteless. read more

Excellent, excellent location! The views from the restaurant are gorgeous, showcasing Thunder Bay's marina and the Sleeping Giant. The service was perfect, our server very attentive and the chef came to our table to inquire about our meals, which were all delicious. I had the salmon - highly recommend, my aunt and cousin had the Pit Boss for two with 4 sides. Wow, what a plate full of delicious! My other aunt had the fish and chips and she enjoyed that as well. Super upset with my family's experience here. Had a reservation. Once we sat down no one acknowledged us the entire time we were sitting there. After 20 minutes of no one even saying hi we tried to get a waiters attention and none would even look at us. It was really weird and made us feel weird. We decided to drive across Canada to Ottawa to see our daughter this year and what a trip it was. We ended up going to Quebec City also, it was one of the highlights. Thunder Bay was a surprisingly interesting and nice place to stop on our way through Ontario. We stayed at the the Delta on the waterfront and it was great and we had a beautiful view. We enjoyed our meal at the Ankor & Ore In The hotel. Drove in to town about 7pm and was glad to see it was open when we got to the hotel as I did enough driving that I was hoping for something in the hotel or walking distance. Thought I'd have something fast and not big so just ordered wings, fries & a beer. Turned out to be a lot more food than expected. I always look for something local for a craft beer and the Firehouse English Nut Brown from Lake of the Woods Brewing caught my eye. Not from Thunder Bay but close in Kenora. It was to be one of the best beer choices I made on the entire trip. I ordered 12 bbq flavoured wings that were large and really tender. It was really filling, the crunchy crust was thicker than I usually like but these I really enjoyed. Have to say the fries were Awesome!! They were the thin cut style and deep fried to perfection! My faves are steak fries but these seriously surprised me and the order was big, doesn't really look it in the pic but i needed help finishing them off! My wife had a fish meal that she enjoyed & she ordered succotash, funny cause I remember hearing that on cartoons but had never had that before. It was a really good veggie dish. Our server was great, he was really moving to keep everyone happy and our order came out promptly and everything was prepared perfectly! The view of Lake Superior was really nice also. It's a great memory our short stop in Thunder Bay, I wouldn't have changed a thing about it!! read more

Went here with another couple and between the four of us spent $350. Our waitress was very courteous and the view is excellent but in all honestly the quality of food was horrible. I would've been happier spending $10 on a burger at burger barn. DO NOT ORDER THE CALAMARI!! It's grilled and tastes like rubber. The drinks were ridiculously priced at around $15 for a mixed drink that was sub par. I hate writing this review because I wanted this place to be great and it has so much potential but it's not worth it at all. read more
