I was in the area and have been to the bakery before and since I wanted something sweet decided to make it a stop. I wanted one of their raspberry croissants but they were already out of them. They still had a selection to choose from so I got a regular croissant, a coffee meringue, a linzer torte, a black forest cookie and a chocolate man cookie. Oh my goodness!!! I was so excited to find this place when we first moved to Ormond Beach! Everything is absolutely amazing! The croissants (plain, almond, chocolate, and raspberry) are delicieuse! *chefskiss Such a delicious breakfast! The mango eclair is hubby's favorite; my favorite is the almond tart (although the lemon tart is also amazing!!). All of the cookies are great - we did tins of cookies last Christmas to take back to family & friends and everyone loved them. Sold..We headed in and found our server who was so friendly and glad to give us descriptions of all the flavors we would be experiencing in each bakery good. I think he said he was the owners son. Immediately we went down the rows of goodies and started filling a box to go. Everything so far is scrumptious. The coconut macaroons will have you regretting you didn't buy more so double or triple up on those. The lemon cookies were so HOME made fresh. Live the shaded cookies who look like little men! I think they sell sandwiches also which I. Sure are name just as fresh as the bakery items. Next time! This French bakery is so popular with the locals you have to get there in the morning because usually their popular items are sold out most of time before Noon. Their chocolate croissants followed by others are the go to baked goods everyone likes to get. Obviously their baked French bread is delicious and freshly made every day. Service is attentive and fast. There is no place to sit inside or out it's simple walk in bakery set up where you walk up to the counter and order what you like. Almost missed this bakery located next to the Winn Dixie as the sign was covered with a banner I thought was an ad for a lawyer without reading it. Funny enough it was to congratulate the owner's son Preston for graduating. Preston was behind the counter & gave us tips on which pastries were his & friend's favorites. We did enjoy everything we got. I had the chocolate raspberry bavarois. The raspberry added a tartness to the dark chocolate mousse textured treat and it was a perfect dessert for me. The other piece I think was called an amandine tart, had a cookie and cakey texture with of course had a refreshing almond flavor. My friend had the chocolate gateau and hazelnut eclair which she preferred over my choices . The hazelnut eclair was a welcome change to the usual chocolate eclairs I've had. We saved the buttery chocolate croissants for breakfast, would have also been a good mid afternoon snack. I will definitely come back to try the napoleon and coffee flavored desserts later this week or when Im back in Ormond beach. It was near closing when we went so they were out of a lot of their baked goods. Note to self: go early, take out to share with friends by the beach. read more

A hidden gem in Ormond Beach. Tucked in a corner of a shopping center, it would be easy to miss unless you were going to the grocery store in the middle. We chose four different things, all variations on cupcakes, every one of them delicious. Got there too late in the day to buy a bread - next time. We just happen to pass this little place when looking for a quick bite on the way to our camping site at Tamoka State Park. The staff was crazy friendly and happy to find out my hubby speaks a little French. They answered all of our questions and excited to tell us all about each delicious treat we were curious about. It's hard to find great pastries and baked goods. The croissants and baguettes are baked fresh daily and you can tell. The quality matches those of French bakeries we have experienced in Montreal. The quiche has a fantastic croissant crust and savory delicate filling. The baguettes have a crusty exterior and soft perfect center. Everything we had was a wonderful mouth vacation. Hard to find small bakery in Winn Dixie strip mall. The French baker has been in business over 30 years. Her pastries are both delicious and beautiful. Her Napoleon (or mille-feuille) was much firmer, more like cheesecake-filled than the custards I had experienced in the past (still delish). She had a dynamite chocolate rum petit cake, a fun giant meringue and many other treasurable tastes. Fair prices--and I liked small and large sizes so that I could try "tastes" of many things. She would be more popular with better advertising and a bigger sign, since her location is not on Atlantic Ave or in a downtown area. You can special order, otherwise you are at her liberty for choices of the week (but still a large variety) There are competitive Italian bakeries in Daytona Beach, it's nice that France has a showing here, too. read more
