My wife, Janie and I have been going to Voo La Voo Cafe since our first time there Jan 25, 2025. This was our 11th date on the fairy tale romance that started on 12/31/24 and what's find for us, Voo La Voo was. Absolutely delighted to have found this place. We were visiting the area for my wife's birthday and we showed up about 15 minutes after they opened. They had a few other tables being seated along with us and were a little overwhelmed. The owner and chef, Sylvie came by and got our drink and food order while Daniel, our waiter was getting other tables taken care of. This is a neighborhood restaurant where everyone seemed to know the staff and they knew everyone. It was so comfortable and friendly. The food was fantastic. French onion soup that was lighter in flavor than some others, but still so delicious and enjoyable. I liked the wine that was in there. We both got filets. She had a butter herb sauce and I got the pepper sauce. Both were great. Had the potatoes au gratin and the flavor was so clean and silky. Just before we left a large group came in saying they had made a reservation (they certainly hadn't) and completely ruined the nice, calm and comfortable vibe. They were loud and acted like entitled jerks. Even those morons couldn't ruin a great dinner, but we just paid our bill and left. We happened upon this unique and delicious affordable French cafe looking for a new breakfast experience and Voo La Voo far exceeded our expectations. I felt like we were in a French country home and the chef/owner, Sylvie, welcomed us warmly and made us feel like, not just guests but, family friends. I loved the goat cheese and egg breakfast crepe with greens and Rafi loved the Gorgonzola and Brussel sprouts quiche. The country breakfast potatoes were deliciously seasoned. Although we ate inside, the outdoor dining area was also inviting. After my birthday dinner, I was craving something sweet, so we popped in for a treat and were pleasantly surprised. The ambiance when you walk in is calm and inviting. The restaurant smells amazing, and I loved the low-light setting. The seating was very comfortable as well. We would have loved to sit out on the beautiful patio, but unfortunately, it was raining. Our server, Dan (I believe), was excellent. He described each dish with such enthusiasm and genuine appreciation. He got our drinks and order in right away and made the experience even better. We ordered two separate tastings. My love chose the escargot, and from the moment it hit the table, it smelled absolutely incredible with the garlic and butter. It tasted just as amazing -- truly a treat. I was in the mood for something sweet, so I ordered a decaf cappuccino and a slice of Chocolate Salted Caramel Cake with a scoop of ice cream on the side. The decaf espresso was rich and flavorful -- you'd never guess it was decaf. As someone who's pregnant, I really appreciate a good decaf coffee! The cake was phenomenal -- moist and decadent with salted caramel layered through the center. The ice cream wasn't necessary, but it was definitely a delicious addition. Voo La Voo Cafe, New Smyrna! (you can actually sing that to "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi"). I don't think you'd find this place just driving around, but they served up some solid food (and liquid food) in a cozy atmosphere. The service was spectacular. Our party of 5 dined outside and there was plenty of space for all. As the afternoon went on, the sun started invading the space of bit, but that's what happens outside. Inside was available but it was so nice, so why not do outside? The French onion soup may be the reason I go back. The flavor in this soup was one of the best I ever had. I don't know what it was but it just tasted like a lot of love and care went into that soup. The other dishes were good as we were there for brunch. I had the Croque Monsieur which was served as 2 pieces open faced. It was delicious but with the cheesy soup, it was a bit much for me. That's more on me ordering 2 cheesy dishes thought. The others at the table all enjoyed their meals as well and it was just a wonderful afternoon with family! If you're in New Smyrna, look it up and plan a trip for good food and good vibes. read more

Un moment merveilleux! I so missed our beloved Voo La Voo Cafe in Wilton Manors, Florida that for a Christmas gift my partner suprised me and my Mother with a trip to the new location in New Smyrna Florida. A three and a half hour drive for my FAVORITE crepes ever! The experience was above and beyond as the service and food were just as I remembered, excellent! I had of course ordered my Garganzola crepes that has apples, bacon, walnuts and Garganzola cheese. The other crepes were ham, egg and cheese and a Chicken with Bechamel crepes. All so delicious! Of course we can't leave out the French Toast with fresh blueberries and real whipped cream that we shared. The restaurant is so nice compared to their previous spot that was adorable in Wilton Manors. Such a unique experience with cute decor. I'm by far not a photographer but I had to share the pictures I took. Oh, and on the weekends they have music in their large court yard. This was such a wonderful gift and I had to share with everyone that has wondered what Voo La Voo was. They even serve lunch and dinner now. We will for sure make the trip again to dine for dinner! Best omelette in FL, fluffy and moist with premium ingredients. The crepes are crispy and soft at same time, try the goat cheese with arugula and fried egg. Lovely outdoor patio seating (or inside). The food was good - The crepe we ordered was really tough to cut through and felt dry. It needed some type of sauce to help with the dryness, but the French Toast was very good. The place wasn't busy and the service was quite slow. The tables and floors were clean which I appreciated. We have been to the cafe many times, both for breakfast and dinner and we have never left disappointed. The buckwheat crepes are exactly like the crepes we had in Brittany; the buckwheat flour adds such a wonderful flavor and aroma. My favorites are the ratatouille and the Laprintaniere. My partner favors the smoked salmon in the lemon chive cream sauce. We always order a side of mushrooms; so delicious. If the limoncello cake is available, don't pass it up, it's outstanding! Thank you for responding. I understand that credit card processing fees exist and that banks charge businesses for them. My concern is not the existence of fees, but how they are communicated and the tone used when addressing customers about them. The surcharge appeared as a surprise at the end of the meal. If it is disclosed only in small print or on the payment keypad at checkout, that does not feel like meaningful transparency. Fees that affect the final bill should be clearly and prominently disclosed before ordering, not discovered after the fact. Additionally, your reply leaves a poor impression. It reads as though customers are being blamed for using credit cards or for earning points or cash back. Choosing a common and accepted payment method should not make a customer feel at fault for broader banking policies. We just had an outstanding brunch at Voo La Voo Cafe on Canal St in NSB! The place is charming and eclectic, with a cozy dining room and really nice patio seating outside. Chef Sylvie Le Nouail outdid herself! We had the chicken bechamel crepe and the goat cheese crepe, both outstanding. And we finished up with one of the best crème brûlée's I've ever had, made with lavender and honey - along with perfect cafe au lait. All fantastic. It was my birthday. I just wanted a nice dinner out. Came across some reviews of this restaurant that convinced me we should give it a try. We made the reservation on OpenTable and made a special note we were celebrating a birthday. Arriving at the restaurant while it was already dark, we were confused that there was no lighting on what was apparently their signage. The parking was not well laid out, and all the doors to the restaurant were open, leading us to wonder if we were entering the wrong way. We were seated inside. Only two other tables were seated. I immediately noticed that the decor was "off-beat." It didn't remind us of any restaurant we'd ever been to in France or Canada. The seating was straight out of the 1940's. No tablecloths. The lampshade on the lone lamp was very obviously askew. The overhead lighting was harsh and unromantic. David, our waiter, was our night's bright spot. He was very accommodating, attentive, and charming. I had Escargot de Bourgogne, a rubbery, tasteless choice. Thank God for the piece of grilled bread that came with it. My husband chose a Caprese salad and enjoyed it very much. We both ordered the Filet Mignon; mine medium rare, his medium. Once served, we cut into the beef and immediately switched places. But my medium rare was too close to medium and his medium was also over-cooked. The Au Poivre sauce came in handy here. We ordered a couple of sides: potato and carrot puree, which was tasty, and Dauphinois potatoes. The slices of potatoes were quite undercooked and crunchy. The additional order of bread we placed was delicious. And my sauvignon blanc was quite good. The berry crepe we ordered for dessert was lovely. We were disappointed in our visit to Voo la Voo but even more let down that we were able to leave without anyone wishing me a happy birthday! Madam Sylvie: the devil is in the details. read more
