My wife and I really enjoy going to French Press, it's become our Sunday coffee spot. The vibe is great, the atmosphere is cozy, and when it's running smoothly it's a really nice place to relax. However, during winter season when the snowbirds arrive, things get very hectic. The wait times become extremely long. You can easily wait quite a while just for coffee, and if you order food, expect an additional 20-30 minutes. By the time the sandwich comes out, your coffee is already finished, which kind of defeats the experience of enjoying both together. There is also a young girl frequently working the register who seems overwhelmed and inattentive. Orders often have to be repeated multiple times, even when clearly stated, which slows things down even more. It gives the impression that the front counter could use better training or stronger management during peak hours. We truly enjoy the vibe and want to keep supporting the place, but today's $12 panini was unfortunately not worth the price. Between the long wait and the quality not matching the cost, it made the experience disappointing. We hope they can improve organization and staffing during busy season, because it really is a nice spot with potential. read more

Had high hopes but this was just okay. They have a steady crowd but that could be based on the location in the marina and having a captive audience. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of bathrooms, tables and the dirty dishes piled up by the garbage can left a lot to be desired. Service was friendly but I was unable to get the baristas attention to confirm whether my drink had been made as requested, since it didn't taste as I had ordered. I didn't care for my bagel and egg sandwich. The bagel seemed stale, it was toasted but dry (no butter) and my requested sesame bagel was served poppy seed instead :(. As we were heading to the airport and it had taken a long time to get to us in the first place, there was no time to request a new one. read more

French Press is such an adorable little spot tucked away in a shopping district on the water. They have indoor seating and a covered patio. There are ramps if you have strollers/wheelchairs. We visited this spot in the evening for gelato, then came back for a really good breakfast. The Norwegian crepe has a lemon sauce on top that was the star of the show. read more

Total disappointment after I told hubby that this place is one that I've always wanted to go bec of the ads. Like someone mentioned the outside area overlooks the mariner but the inside was a little dirty with the chairs and tables just spread out almost. Upon entering there was a lady making the crepes just told me how to order .. she wasn't friendly and sounded irritated . I found that the rest of the staff were missing the friendliness and courtesy like most places as well. The gal who took our order was the only one who seemed pleasant and knowledgeable bec I asked if they had quiche which the website mentioned but apparently none of them even knew . I walked to the bakery section when the crepe lady was and saw a bunch of mini spinach quiches . I told them I wanted one although they didn't tell even know that it was a mini quiche . We ordered a vegetable crepe and the hubby went with the Norwegian crepe. Hubby's crepe was exactly how it should and it was delicious but mine was missing flavor , there was no salt and the it actually came out cold but I wouldn't have minded if it tasted good , the cheese inside was not melted and it just looked and tasted bad . Then after asking the quiche we ordered which the one of the gals didn't know what it was so I had to show . It came cold and hard .. wow.. what an experience , hope the owner reads this because it certainly didn't meet the ads for sure . Maybe it was a bad day for them where they were all just unhappy and unfriendly but either way I will not go there again. The 'icing' on the cake was when we were walking back to the car the hubby said 'oh by the way' I found a strand of hair in his crepe and he thought it could be bec no one there was wearing hair nets. read more

This is a cool coffee spot. They serve much more than coffee! They offer crepes, different pastries, sweet treats and gelato! They have indoor and outdoor dining. We visited on a Friday and there was a band playing live music outside. I really didn't see a specific coffee I wanted. I mentioned to one of the baristas that I like a specific drink at Starbucks. She said she had it before and could make something similar. It is an iced cinnamon caramel espresso oat milk! Wow, she did a great job and it was delicous!! Not precisely easy to find but when facing the marina, it is to the right of the traffic circle. Inside, free wifi and power outlets so if you're looking to laptop then this is a good spot to do so. I haven't been to the French Press in a very long time. I used to come there often with the Cape Coral Coffee Lover's Club. Today we decided to meet our friends in a safe but lovely setting, where we could enjoy breakfast together. Nestled in the shops of Cape Harbour, the store overlooks the beautiful Marina. We got there around 11:00 and there was only one other couple outside with us. The store itself is a charming little place and the staff was masked and very friendly. I ordered half dark roast and pumpkin flavored coffee. Dave ordered the "French Press Coffee", where the Press was brought outside with a coffee cup. Very good! He ordered the turkey club panini and I had the whole white tortilla with eggs, cheese and sausage. The food was pretty decent, but I always like my eggs freshly scrambled instead of what I call a block of egg. If I wasn't watching my carbs (and my weight) I probably would have opted for a freshly made crepe instead! The soup was broccoli cheddar and it sounded delish! Our friends came and joined us on this beautiful, glorious day! Makes me happy to be alive and lifted my spirits by actually enjoying myself with friends and good food. Coffee was tasty and priced right. Also got a little truffle that was super tasty. They were out of bagels so I went for the caprese sandwich; I would skip on the paninis. They were $8-9 and not worth it in my opinion. They drizzled sauce on top of the sandwhich instead of in it which made it tricky to eat. That was some good chai. Now, I didn't eat anything and I sat outside. I didn't have the brunch or any fancy treat. I can only imagine my review would be 5 or above because of how great it all looked. This was a working coffee stop and they had WiFi and a great patio seating area. I have 0 issues with this place so far. I also have 0 issues considering this place for my brunch needs in the future. They had a ton of dogs sitting outside too which for me is a great sign of fantastic business owners. PS that coffee wooden backdrop is genius. read more

Just stopped in to the French Press for one of their Norman Love desserts. We had the Carmel Tower which has a chocolate mousse surrounding a cake ball rounded by a Carmel sauce, over a chocolate covered cookie glazed with a rich dark chocolate. It was over the top fantastic. It was big enough to share. It was as delicious to taste, and it was visually stunning. We were able to enjoy it outside with no one else around so social distancing was not an issue. We arrived at around 2:00 and basically had the place to ourselves- both inside and out. All of the desserts are gorgeous. They have beautiful mini desserts that you can take to go. They are bite size but pack a punch of flavor. They are perfect for a guest gift or a small dessert platter that allows everyone to pick a flavor ranging from tiramisu to key lime pie to coconut chocolate to... use your imagination. The French press also serves food, but we haven't tried that yet because the desserts always suck us in. read more
