This weekend I was tasked with picking up a Dominican cake for my niece, however the cake shop closed early and I didn't have a chance to pick it up. So I had to think fast and I thought to myself, where can I get a delicious cake and cupcakes for a party? EASY decision my friends.....The French Workshop. This is by far my favorite bakery in the area! We've been coming here for years and everytime we are invited to parties, our delicious treats from the FW are the hits. So this weekend, I ended up with a blue berry mouse cake, red velvet cake, assorted cupcakes and a color palette of macaroons. To be honest, we basically Mexified it, but I'll justify that with the diluted French in my blood hehehe. Over the years, I usually have my favorite staff that recognize us and always go above and beyond, but I appreciate how everyone plays their part to assist handling those busy lines. Went there on Mother's Day. Bought a Oreo Cheese cake. Back home and found out my son bought 6 pieces of desserts. They all looks fancy. We enjoyed the deserts after dinner buy found out they tasted little different than before. Today, I cut the 1st piece of the Oreo Cheese cake and it is supper sweet and tastes no cheese but frosted cream. I'm so disappointed and I used to love their cakes so much. Never a disappointment! At this point I have tried majority of their desert! As well as get my cake from them for any celebrations I have in the family. Only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars is they need to hire or train their staff on how to write on the chocolate piece they put on the cakes. Really great spot if you're in the mood for some dessert and coffee. Have been here multiple times and love the big space and cleanliness of the place. The desserts are not only tasty, they look great as well. Prices aren't cheap though. A tart and coffee, for example, can come to about $10 so this may not be a frequent stop for many. It's worth the occasional indulgence for me though. I've had the chocolate tart the last 2 times and really enjoyed it. But I'm a bit of a chocoholic and prefer dark chocolate so take that for what it's worth. Staff are very professional and friendly. Selection is pretty good IMO. You can often see them making/assembling the food right out in the open so you can see the care and expertise that goes into it. If you opt to dine in, they will put your order on a silver platter and nice plating and give you silverware should it be required. Metered parking is available but it may be tight during peak hours so expect to either hunt & wait or take the 1st spot you find in the area and hike on over. This was my first time here and I felt so boujee eating here. The place looked really clean and pretty with marble tables and gave off an overall luxurious feel. I ordered three things: lemon tart with marshmallow topping (~$5), creme brûlée ($7), and the crunchy, which is a chocolate hazelnut cake (~$5). Overall I spent close to $20 for three desserts. The lemon tart was probably my favorite. It was sweet with a nice tang. The crunchy isn't bad it was like a Ferraro rocher. The creme brûlée isn't bad either and comes with a ramekin that you get to keep. They also sell prepackaged things in the front and fragrant mints and truffles. read more

Aside from the elegance, professionalism of staff and presentation, the dessert quality and prices make this bakery worthwhile to travel to. I will start with the melody Cake - holy crunchy stuff. The layers of chocolate, creme brulee and some crisp wafer had our guests all fighting to take the leftover cake home. I have to thank the employee who recommended this cake as his favorite. A large cake that could easily serve 10-12 people cost $33. Small versions - they have mini versions of all their delights which is great if you like variety. We also got a smaller creme brulee ($9), mini lava cake and tiramisu. We also got two chocolate cupcakes. Overall the melody cake was outstanding. I know they don't need another raving review as it's a pretty popular spot, but it's not often that places really live up to the hype! My only regret is that I was so full before visiting that I didn't get to try more desserts. Next time I would want to come with a group of people so I can try a variety of things! We had the crunch, a variety of macaroons, pistachio gateau, cheese pastry, and the oreo cookie. Everything was really amazing and we ended up not being able to save any of it for later like we planned to... The only thing that is difficult is that people are lined up along the showcases so that it is hard to see what you want to order in advance while you are in line! If you know what you already want, that probably won't be a problem, but it was my first time and I definitely felt rushed to pick things that caught my eye! This bakery in Wantagh has the best carrot cake around it rivals Lloyd's in NYC. They have great croissants both plain and chocolate also stuffed with all kinds of cheese and meats. A large variety of baked goods. The bomb and brioche very tasty. Very strong cinnamon taste but not to the point it burns. Too much will give the burning sensation in the mouth. The Le Mure was too sweet for me but the cake was moist. The bomb has a hard chocolate shell and moist cake. Nice Oreo taste. Will go back to try others. read more

Every time I come into French workshop, the ladies and gentleman working there are always super welcoming and friendly. They are always making sure I'm being taken care of and when I ask about ingredients due to allergies, they make sure to break it down for me. I love their Nutella latte and Nutella cookies. The varieties are endless. I attempt to try a different dessert every time I come but it's endless. They're all delicious! Ps. Parking can be a bit difficult depending on the time of day. Because it's on Bell Blvd, parking around here can be a hit or miss and really depends on when you go. But it's metered parking unfortunately and the Bayside traffic cops are very present, so be sure to not let your parking meter expire. Absolutely amazing. This is my new favorite dessert/pastry shop. Heard my friends raving about this place and finally had a chance to come see for the hype myself. Dessert & Presentation: 5/5. Upon entering, the depth of the store blew me away. The pastries and dessert stretched all the way to the end of the store. Starting from the cashier, there were pastries (croissants, French toast, all different sizes of cookies) followed by tons of dessert （tarts, cheesecakes, cakes, crepe brûlée), ending with macaroons. I got the pistachio cake, tiramisu, and mille-feuille. First bite of the pistachio cake was good, it was very pistachio-y, so for all the pistachio lovers, you are definitely in for a treat. You can fondly taste the pistachio as well as the pistachio flavored cream in the center of the cake, followed by a nice crust. However, the pistachio cake was slightly too sweet for my taste. The tiramisu blew my mind. First, I bought the tiramisu to go, and was pleasantly surprised when I found the tiramisu I bought was in an actual glass container (with no mention of returning the container). The tiramisu was perfect. The taste of rum was on par but not overly strong, the blend of cream and lady finger melted in my mouth, and the overall taste wasn't overly sweet. Definitely something I would get again. I would recommend tiramisu as the go-to dessert. Similarly, the Mille-feuille was fantastic. I believe this is one of their signature dessert, you can see and taste the vanilla creme in between the layers of crust. The layers of crust were crunchy as expected and coated with sugar powder on top. It had a nice hint of overall sweetness. This is definitely a store that exceeded my expectations. I vow to come back and try all their desserts one by one (given their wide variety of selection, it might take a while but who knows? I came here the other day and bought my usual 10 mini chocolate chip cookies and when I got home, noticed that they were not the same square-shape. I love walking into French Workshop because the display cases are immaculate. They offer a wide variety of desserts, breads, savory pastries, cookies and macarons too. The desserts don't just look good they also taste superb. My favorite dessert is always the crème brûlée because the top layer of sugar is not too thick and overwhelming and the cream layer is airy and light with a hint of vanilla. Love this French Bakery. This is my fifth visit (two nights in a row just this weekend alone)! The pastries are fresh and very delicious. I've been trying something new each visit. Between last night and tonight's visit, we've ordered all our favorites times two. The must try's: mille feuille, creme brulee and macarons. The macarons are moist, pillowy, and super decadent. My suggestions are: the salted caramel, chocolate, strawberry, coffee and creme brulee flavors. The mille feuille is my favorite dessert in this joint. I come here each time just to buy this. And they have a cake version ... Drool worthy. My second favorite is their creme brulee. Very creamy, and love the crystalized caramel top. Torched perfectly. Crunchy and sweet. I came here last night and had a taste of a bunch of the dessert delicacies here. While I had ordered the creme brulee, my friends decided to go with the profiterole, the crunchy, the lemon tart, and the raspberry tart. Of these, the profiterole is my favorite. It's similar to an eclair, but prettier and dresses with less chocolate. The most surprising, but pleasantly surprising thing that happened while we were there was that about an hour before close we were offered an entire Nutella bread on the house! How nice is that!? Omg it is beautiful inside and the pastries cookies and mini pies are so delicious. We went to the one on 7th street in Garden City. It is so nice with seating inside and out. The coffee was very good as well. We had a raspberry custard tart with a chocolate crust. A raspberry Madeleine cookie to die for, so delicious and a mini linzer tart. I can't wait to go again. The Bayside location is a local favorite that offers indoor & outdoor seating. They are always crowded so something good must be happening here. Unfortunately, I haven't tried much stuff here since I am Gluten free & dairy free. I am happy to say that they carry oat milk which foams just like milk and makes for a creamy & tasty cappuccino. I love their oat cappuccinos , oat lattes and iced mint tea. They do carry a few GF & vegan options. There Gluten-free & vegan pumpkin loaf is so yummy, I love their banana loaf version too but pumpkin is my favorite. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it here in over a month. read more

I don't believe they exist on any delivery apps and the parking is very poor, as one would expect from its Bell location. That said, this is the best establishment of its kind that I have frequented. There is indoor as well as outdoor seating. The drinks are created with competence and care. But the deserts and savories are what makes this shoppe stand apart from the others, and will have you returning. The master bakers are doing their work right in front of you! What a nice touch. Today a dear friend surprised me with three tarts/pastries and I was not disappointed by the least. My apologies in the lousy "after" nosh eat picture but I guess the "proof" is in the pic. Be careful using your debit credit card at The French Workshop. I went to check my debit card account this morning and saw a charge made to my card on 2/3/2022, from The French Workshop. Guess what? I did not leave my house yesterday. I called the store manager in bayside and they said I would have to call my bank. Where is the corporate office to complain about this issue. If there is ever a next time, I will use cash only. "Don't use a card". Update: I did my own investigation yesterday and spoke to two Bank representatives. My bank said that your statement below is not true and it's illegal to charge anyones debit card on a purchase made two months ago. "That's even if the purchase was made two months ago". If this was the case, you should have reached out to the bank and the customer, that you were going to charge the customer's debit card two months later. I'm going to report your company to the BBB because you can not just decide when your company makes a mistake to charge a customer's account anytime you want. Especially, if they are not in the store on the day of purchase. My mom checked her account on 2/5/2022 and saw a transaction made by your company on 2/3/2022. A very classy dessert place; the decorations and interior designs wants you feel fancy when you walk in. There were so many delicious options to choose from but my uncle suggested their creme brûlée. My aunt doesn't get creme brûlée from anywhere else but here because apparently they are the only place around this area that uses that particular black metal tin to make the dessert which gives it an unique taste.
