This place is such a disappointment, if I could give it zero stars I would. I live in the Hills and in the last month I have been in this store a number of times and either the meat counter is completely empty or the cold cut counter is completely empty. Just this Monday I went in and the meat counter was empty, the butcher dept in the back was closed and completely black, and the freezer section was empty. Every time the excuse is "we lost power", how does one place lose power this often. Shelves are empty of basic grocery items. The only thing that there is plenty of is the large expensive candy section. I bought a gallon of milk last week, expiration date was this week and yet when I got the milk home is was disgusting. The employees are constantly changing there. They are never happy or nice. The older guy in the meat dept is the most miserable person I have ever encountered in customer service. He acts as though it is the biggest inconvenience to wait on customers. Living in the area, I really wish some other store would move into this location. read more

Sadly I can only give this place 2 stars. I did find the place clean and well stocked. But the employees I dealt with were very impolite and abrupt. One employee in particular was more interested in talking to a coworker or buddy of his then he was in taking my order. I ordered one thing and did not even get asked if I wanted anything else. Just got a very terse "Here" when he was done. If you can get friendlier employees here then I will gladly reccomend you. But surly employees can really break a deal. read more

I waited at the deli counter for a while - no one to help. The sushi makers apparently don't do anything else so the area was unmanned. After a while, I went to the grab go section and got potato salad and left with that and some ground beef. When I got home , the potato salad was really foul - it made a sfitz noise when opened it like a soda can and I tasted a little and it was actually 'fermented' and really bad. The only way it could be that bad is if it sat unrefrigerated for a very long time, or it was much older than the pack date. I will have to take it back in the morning - but I've been burned before on their prepared foods. The Kings around the corner is much better - it is a bit pricey but have never had an issue. read more

We love FM and this is such a big store with so many wonderful options. They have an amazing selection of flowers, ornamental plants, and herb plants. They offer a wide variety of prepared foods including pizzas, bbq and sides, sandwiches, and sushi. This is my go to spot for lunch because is to close to one of my offices. Their meat and seafood selections are vast. Stone crab, fish, crab cakes, lobster and more. They have dry aged beef, and every cut of meat you can imagine.  We are fans of their bacon. You can make your own nut butter, grab lunch or dinner, a fresh coffee or smoothie,  and stock your pantry and fridge. They also have plenty of meal deals. The weekly deal now  is a stir fry meal for four all for $25. The staff is friendly and amazing especially Heidi, the assistant manager. Love this store! read more

I would give this place a better rating if it were for my experience this am. I wanted to get a rotisserie chicken for lunch so I was ok at work today. I asked the guy if the chicken was ready so maybe I could grab one. He said no. I had just saw him turn it off because they were done. He could have said give me a few mins to let it cool so I can package it for you but he just said no. Customer service is everything. I'm very disappointed. It was my first visit her to pick up a turkey and ham that I ordered online for thanksgiving and I will say it was a very pleasant experience. I sort of screw up my ordered I meant to order a fully cooked turkey but ordered a fresh frozen turkey . I said oh man is there any way you have an extra cooked turkey I could have instead and thankfully they did because I was not trying to cook one this year. I don't understand the low scores. Food is fresh and less expensive than most grocery stores, and the staff treats you like family.

Thei inventory is poor - sale items out of stock almost immediately. I have never come away from there with everything I went to get. Have turned to Wegmans as a better alternative as well as Kings. read more

Loved the coffee beans I bought. Winter mix is awesome. Had it right there at the mart all hot and tasty loved it bought it. It is a very clean and well stock place. Prices are reasonable in my opinion and the staff super friendly. Also had the croissant multigrain and it was delicious. Wish I was closer. Location does not have tons of brand of each item which I love. Mid size place with everything you need. read more

This is a really nice market. It is quite pricey, and it kind of reminds me of Whole Foods in a way. The store is very clean, and well stocked. Lots of staff around to help what you're looking for. This is more of a store though, if you really do need something specific. Everything is pretty well organized, and it does have certain things that could be hard to find at a regular supermarket. However, keep in mind, you will be paying a lot more than what you would usually buy at other grocery stores. They do have a great kosher section, and that was probably the only aisle that was well priced. Everything else, though is mostly expensive. Yay, i am a fan. I have my issues with the place but there are just way too many reasons to come here, than to not. They have amazing, great value items with their label. I love that i can get Intelligentsia coffee here, and more times than not, they have it on sale for about $12 for 12 ounces. But what i discovered here was there own brand coffee - Borough Brew in a possibly 24 ounce size package for a bargain, and here's the kick - it is delicious! i have gone in there twice in the past 15 days and it has been sold out. So, there's that. Love the butcher shop, great looking meats, and always something that is on sale that is a great deal. Picked up wild caught shrimp today for $10 a pound. They have the best selection of Noosa yogurt of any retail outlet around but i am usually disappointed in finding them a little to close to expiration date. Wanted to get the quart size today but both vanilla and honey had a EXP date of um - yesterday. With the exception of these little issues, i love coming in here and always find something other than what i came in for. read more

I am simply not a fan of large-scale "premium" supermarket chains like Fresh Market, Whole Foods, or Kings. They offer the same old packaged, frozen and canned goods as ShopRite but with a 33% markup. Their deli counter and prepared foods are really just the same mechanized and pre-assembled stuff you'd find in a regular supermarket, just offensively priced. The produce has fun little signs that say "organic" or "farm raised", but the FDA could probably admit that retailers can legally use those terms on the same junk you get from the big, bad supermarket. These markets PRETEND to be a gourmet mom n pop shop, one where here the blind italian grandma is in the back making the meatballs, recently paroled cousin Vito is doing security/calling the line, Momma Maria has bakers flour all over her forehead and its mixing with sweat and dripping into the ciabatta bread, Poppa stuffing a whole hog's mouth with pickled peppers and apples, L'il Antonio is pressing an italian roast out of beans percolated from a capuchin monkey's duodenal cavity authentically brewed in Parma. Went there 2 times to buy salad in a bag. First time I got home and the salad was slimy. Second time the salad was fine but looked on the date of expiration and found out that the salad had one day left. Not so fresh if you tell me. read more

Annoyed - went to the butcher station and asked for three burgers. I didn't watch but was jipped with a small burger. They are a flat fee so you don't pay by the pound so when you get a small one that's about 20% smaller that's the other 2. It's things like this why I hardly shop there and when I give them a chance this is what you get. Overpriced....also pay attention last time I went there they overcharged me for grapes - I had to go to show the sticker. I'm a loyal wegmans shopper and a pricing issue has only happened once and when I found it they apologized and gave me a $2 and a thank you for bringing this to our attention. Several items have visible mold on them. Went to get a panini from the deli and asked how long ago the paninis were made and was told 4 days ago. That's disgusting! They looked very old and unappetizing. Salads in the cases are old and crusty. Chickens dried out. I wonder how long they have been sitting there. The meat department had visibly brown ground beef. Not very fresh. Very disappointed and pray I don't get sick. read more

The store has a good feel when you go inside. It is super nice to see something replace the A&P which lasted well beyond its useful life span. The great is what is in the store seems all good. The bad is what is not in the store at all. The selections are limited and you will need to go somewhere else in addition to fill all of your grocery needs. Here is the latest on what I found out about the Meal Deal. You may think that you get a deal on the ingredients but they are amped up in price. The boston butt, for the pulled pork special, was priced at $6.99 per pound! Seriously? Try $1.59 per pound tops! This store is what it is! It has a limited selection of products, some choices that are not common to other local markets, but nothing to make a special trip for. Their real Achilles heel, however, is their staff. I have rarely been in a market with such unpleasant, unresponsive and rude employees. Frankly, it's quite strange! Their counters go unattended for extensive periods. When you finally get someone, there's no apology, no polite, friendly chat, just a scowl. If you want a store that employs people who have absolutely no sense of customer service or common courtesy, here's your spot. Today was my absolutely last visit to this store. With a Wegmans, Kings, Whole Foods and plenty of other grocery stores within a short distance, there's no reason to be treated like you're a nuisance. read more

It is fun the first few times you go but then you start to realize how limited the selection is. Fresh Market tries to push their brand and one other choice in several areas. Butcher is short staffed and often lines form. Checkout may have 2 cashiers but no matter how many they have most are clueless or talk too much causing more delays. Store staff also lacks knowledge of what products they have. If you bring kids be prepared for the giant bulk candy section prominently displayed. Specials lead to normal pricing while most items rival that of Kings or even higher. Go for the samples and newness but then don't fret when the novelty wears off. Guess if you live near this side of the Hills it beats going around to Kings. read more

Ventured to the Fresh Market the other day, as I search our new neighborhood for a viable grocery option. This. Is. Not. It. Initially I thought it was really cute, but the organic produce selection is hit or miss in terms of variety. What WAS there was three-quarters of the way to rotten. Someone recommended we try the store breads with the pesto I was making from my garden, but even the basic loaves of bread here had massive numbers of unnecessary and artificial ingredients. Who needs a baguette with soybean oil and natural flavor added to it? What would they even call that in France? And I'd love for someone to explain the GIANT candy shop front and center before you reach the cash registers. Mostly trashy candy that you can buy at any grocery, CVS, or even the neighborhood 7-11. Seems like a waste of perfectly good real estate in a store with otherwise limited varieties. I realize I'm starting to sound like a food snob (I guess I am), so I'll just say this: the worst offense of all are the prices. I've been a committed Whole Foods shopper for the better part of 5 years, and prices at this shop are a good $1.50 to $2.00 more per item. That's just insane. I guess I'll keep looking for a better option than driving 30-40 minutes to Whole Foods. read more

Fresh Market is a welcome addition to Bedminster, New Jersey. The store is immaculate and the produce is fresh and presented beautifully. Specials on Tuesday and weekends are very good buys. We purchased two chickens for $12 and they were delicious. The breads are very good as well and my husband is a sucker for the cookies. The employees are very cheerful and helpful and will go out of their way to help find things when you are new to the store. The deli is excellent. Have had their portobello mushrooms stuffed with crab and shrimp for dinner more than once. It is not meant to be a "super" market. It is a specialty store and the prices are a bit high (hence the 4 stars) so don't expect 100 varieties of paper products, laundry detergent, or cereal. As mentioned elsewhere there is a large candy aisle and even I get tempted walking through. Wegman's has that same wall of candy but for some reason this one is more inviting. I am glad this store came to town and I go there often for really tasty food. read more

Their grass fed beef ribeye was the worst I have ever purchased! I bought 4 nice sized steaks, seasoned them as always, prepped the grill properly and as I do often, cooked these 4 steaks....every single one of them was barely edible. 2 I literally saw tossed in to the garbage disposal, inedible. Gritty, tough, gristle, unchewable, uncuttable with superb steak knife - - bad! Out of the 4 steaks, it is not exaggerating that only 2/3 of 1 steak combined, were edible. I will never buy meat here again, ever. You get what you pay for and Kings is better as is Shop Rite (barely) but Wegmans and Costco certainly are. read more

Great place to shop. Perfect neighborhood grocery and fresh market store. It is very neat and well stocked. Aisle are well laid out and the produce section is not as cluttered as some other stores. Great choice in products and good selection of Organic and allergy conscious food choices. Over all a great store with market competitive price points. I enjoyed the cooked food section which has quite some quality chioces. But overall the store is in serious decline in all other department. The most noticeable issues are within some of the latest hires, who obviously did not get enough training on how to treat customers and how to not "STEREOTYPING" customers based on their appearances. I am not sure why this can happen. At the checkout, I was simply pointing out that the tiny pinpad did not show the full list of groceries that I purchased and the numbers did not add up. This ridiculous young female cashier at the counter starts to explode as if I cannot afford all these. I am just trying to confirm that I am not being wrongly-charged. Just show the list with patience not attitude. I was not even given a receipt since the lady squeezed the receipt into a trash ball. Three things 1. Do not profile people. 2. Great selections here. They have some obscure items that are cool, including off season fruits. My only gripe with this place is the prices. Basically everything is a bit over priced but most of the things are high quality I would say. I'm also a huge fan of bottled beverages and they have a great selection of drinks that are so refreshing. I always get a few sencha green tea shots (they come in a little can and pack a punch like a cup of coffee). So yeah I come here once every two weeks or so but mostly just to get some very niche over priced snacks and drinks that I like. I save all of my basic grocery shopping for Trader Joes. read more

I wanted to like this place especially since it's 2 minutes from my farm but.........about 20% of the time the produce I buy is rotted on the inside. I take it back and return it but who has the time.....Today was the last straw. I went in and bought some tomatoes, and onion, pepper, apple, and a few other things to make a fresh salad. Despite the produce looking good on the outside, the apple, onion, and pepper had to be tossed......... I also loved dried cranberries. Be aware if you buy their fresh dried fruit, it will be rolled in sugar....why? I threw that out.
