I'm a regular at this establishment and consistently have well-prepared and delicious foods, friendly staff, and a clean and well organized atmosphere. Their dedication to showcasing local selections and hard-to-find products makes shopping there a fun experience of discovery. For meats, their butcher is particularly helpful and friendly, offering great recommendations based on personal preferences. This review is for Jayden, specifically and the store overall generally. I love shopping the Fresh Market. I usually come in when looking for something specific or the Little Big Meal. Today they were out of one of the items, or at least it wasn't readily available for me to grab without bothering anyone. Jayden took the time and care to not only locate it, offer to make a substitution (which I wasn't overly concerned about; I would still have made my purchase). When the substitution wasn't available he walked to another area, worked with another employee, and got me what I needed (wanted). It wasn't even that serious but he took getting it all right very seriously. I am appreciative of his kindness, professionalism, and customer service. The world could use a lot more Jayden's. I can't say enough about this store and especially their manager, Latoya. I called last minute to arrange catering for my husband's funeral service, and she was so kind and understanding. Latoya went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and the food was fresh and beautifully prepared. In such a difficult moment, her compassion and care meant so much. I love the fresh market! We normally come here for the rotisserie chicken, fruit and desserts. The rotisserie chicken is so good for a quick family dinner but make sure you get there before rush hour or they will be out of them. We love the quality and freshness of the fruit when they are in season. Also if you are in need of dessert for parties or potlucks get them here!. The store is very well set up and clean. Hola! I'm visiting family here in Colombia S.C. for the first time and found this store on my route back to the house, and couldn't be more happy with this place. I swear this place gets all my money! Closest grocery store to my house so they easily see me 3 times a week or more. So really clean friendly grocery store. They were actually one of the firsts to require masks to enter within the area and they still do require this. Tends to be more on the expensive side, it is more of a health type grocery store. Probably not the best place for serious grocery shopping, but I can pick up many things easily during the week. They don't tend to carry a lot of variety of certain products. They have excellent produce section, great meat and seafood department(really fresh). Deli/hot bar section that includes really good food! Bakery is amazing! I have NEVER had a bad desert from here. They have cakes, pies, pastries, muffins...u name it! I enjoy shopping here for quality and of course the convenience. read more

I've come here more than enough times to make a review. This location is very close to my home and I never really go in here. On Saturday and Sunday, I made trips to grab a few items. They have some of the freshest fruit you would want from a store. I love all of the little items that you could find in here. The staff isn't very talkative, but that doesn't bother me any. I come in, grab what I need and I am out the door! They offer a variety of fresh salads and fresh olives. I'm not an olive fan so I get the seafood salad they offer. I tried the smoked salmon salad and it was delicious. A little on the salty side but good none the less. read more

We shop here for special items. On Tuesdays they have a great special on boneless skinless chicken breast and ground chuck, for rewards members. We make a point to get our chicken and Chuck every Tuesday. They also have good crab cakes. Their beef tenderloins are expensive, but I will buy it when they occasionally drop their prices. For the past three years, we've enjoyed getting their Valentine's Day special. You can get two fillets, or two lobsters, or two crabcakes along with mashed potatoes, asparagus and chocolate covered strawberries. We really enjoyed it the past two years I have a couple of neighbors that also have gotten it. You can also mix the special with a fillet and crab or a fillet and a lobster. This year they included a dozen roses and the price went up $10. We really enjoyed the meal this year but we found that are chocolate covered. Strawberries were a little soggy and wet. Our neighbors also said theirs were the same this year. Maybe the strawberries were made a couple of days too early or something. Other than that it was a very enjoyable Valentines meal. read more

That's what I like to see management not afraid to interact with their customers and get their hands dirty. This was an okay experience. If you need some basic healthy and organic foods for the house, this just might be your place. The closest comparison to this store is something like a Whole Foods... except it doesn't have half of what they provide. The name Fresh Market means fresh food that you can take home immediately and get to work on m. When they say it, they mean it. If you have any meats that you want to put straight on the stove or grill, this is the place. Also, if you prefer coffee ready to go, these are your teammates to select. The reason I think they're a good comparison to Whole Foods is because they have the food service line, fresh foods, baked goods, healthy alternatives, but they're stuff is a little CHEAPER in price. For me, that always means that I'm winning. Not to mention, if you live in the Summit, no need to drive all the way by Fort Jackson just to go buy food that you're 100% confident is vegan friendly or organic. That's all I've got. I first started shopping at Fresh Market 20 years ago in Knoxville, TN. Since then I always expected and received fresh meat, deli items and cheeses. When we moved to Columbia last year I was so excited to see that the new location was opening right next to our house. When the store first opened it was everything I was used to! Not so much anymore. They no longer do rotisserie chicken breast which is a disappointment because I was buying them 2-3 times per week. The deli case is half empty and looks like some of the items are several days old. I stopped in before the Memorial Day weekend to buy our favorite brioche hamburger bums and was told they had changed vendors and didn't have the ones I was looking for anymore. I know the store manager use to manage WalMart's grocery section and I am afraid that this is what this Fresh Market is turning into...but much more expensive. read more

The customer service is usually cheerful and helpful, which you'd want with the higher prices. The selection is great! Good sushi, interesting odds and ends. Can't get everything I need, but a lot I like. Just opened the cheese I bought yesterday for a charcuterie board and was hit by the stench of rot. Turns out, it expired 6 weeks ago. Called to suggest they check their inventory and no-one answered. Get meat here. Definitely get coffee. Just be sure you check the dates on what you buy. 6 weeks is a long time to let something rot in your case. One last note, at least I can giggle at the irony of buying spoiled food at The Fresh Market. read more

We saw two people walking out of the door today with no face masks on. Too bad one of our favorite stores only suggests face masks and doesn't require them. Their right to do so and to run their business the way they feel is correct for them, it's my right not to patronize the store until it's safer. Back to being a customer again. Looks like all that a store can do is being done by their management to keep their employees safe and by asking their customers to be respectful of other customers. With the curbside pickup we can now feel safe to order on line and pickup. We were really starting to miss their exceptional meats, produce, and seafood. This used to be a really nice store to shop with friendly staff, but lately it's hard to get anyone to help you at the deli counter or acknowledge that you are an actual customer. We stood at the counter for about 10 minutes. Several employees looked toward us but kept on doing something else. Visited the this location while running errands, as I live on the west side. I absolutely love this store, everything was nice and neat, the staff was helpful and I managed to get the items I needed and stay within my budget. I purchased the Asiago cheese bread and could not wait to get home and heat it up for dinner, it is delicious. I was able to get fresh strawberries and raspberries 2/$6, that is such a good deal because a lot of times in the grocery stores they will have only 1 option at that price. I have been a customer of TFM for years. The location of Forest Drive (Columbia, SC) is outstanding. However, the recent addition on Two Notch Road needs serious attention. Twice I have been at this location recently, and the staff at the meat counter handle RAW meat with their bare hands. This is extremely unsanitary. Also, the staff needs customer service training/reconditioning because clearly MOST of them would rather be anywhere other than work! read more

Purchased a full pound of bruschetta topping from the "fresh prep deli area" - we sampled some first and it was delicious. Took it straight home with our other groceries, had no additional stops. Put in immediately in the fridge. Went out for the rest of the day to run errands. Came home, made dinner & went to prep the bruschetta but it had already fermented! WOW! It was literally bubbling in the container and made our tongues tingle. Husband called to complain, we were told to bring it in for an exchange. Next day, we exchanged it & my husband spoke to the GM and asked what was the date on the current batch. He said he didn't know.. so he asked him to check on the bottom of the tray. Manager said "we don't do that anymore, we have a log book". If this were true, why did he ask the employee to look for the date? Wouldn't they both already known it wouldn't be there? -- So.. okay, things might have changed since my husband worked at the other location of TFM but this "new way" doesn't make sense. You mean to tell me employees have no easy access to the dates and have to go hunt down a log book if a customer wants to know? Frankly, I call BS but who knows without calling corporate and asking them to confirm. Either way, it's really crappy.. A customer should be able to have access to the "made on" dates. Oh and the replacement bruschetta was good but didn't last more than 1 day. By day two, it also had begun to ferment. My advice, don't buy it unless you'll eat it the same day. read more

I have been shopping at this Fresh Market since they have opened. Since they are the only specialty grocer in the area I have really tried to like them. First, let's start with out of stocks. I have never seen a store so constantly be out of items. Prices can be a pure rip off. I get specialty items can cost more. But I find the same items at Publix for as much as half of Fresh Mark ups price. Please know who else stocks the same items! Their bakery is not as good as Whole Foods or Publix. The cheese counter is VERY, VERY limited. It's great if you want the same Gruyere cheese that's not moved for 6 months. Fresh Market branded products are poor quality. Overall, I avoid anything with a Fresh Market label. They are just poor quality. Finally, too many items appear once then disappear. Please get a Whole Foods to the Sandhills area and put this store out if it's misery read more

I used to love the Fresh Market. It was my go to for holiday meals and treats. However this will now be my last time ordering anything from them. My colonial apple pie for Christmas was raw. I mean bottom not cooked at all and the sides were way underdone. Looked beautiful, but I was worried to serve it fear of food poisoning. It was that raw! I don't know if they were in a rush, but I wouod think they would make sure that they cooked the food thoroughly. This is the second time I've had raw baked goods from them. The food is much fresher from the prepared foods area at lunch. I saw some food that my co-workers had and decided to go after work. I just went and the chicken wings looked like they had been prepared at lunch. They only had two kinds of wings ready and when I asked the guy at the counter if they were going to put out any Savory Wings he stated no because he wasn't going to make anything else before they close.
