I ended up going with pb banana and fluff which really hit the spot! I felt great afterwards, and since it had protein in it, it helped to keep me feeling satisfied for my drive home. I was in CT and looking for something different to eat and I found this place. Their niche is protein infusion w/iced coffee and the one I tried was like drinking an ice cream sundae made of caramel and happiness. It didn't make me feel bloated or sluggish either. I tried the antioxidant berry and was pleasantly surprised. I would like to go back to try some additional flavors. Staff was friendly, asked if I had any questions on the menu. Seating areas were pretty cute. I liked how these protein shakes were made with fresh (frozen) fruit. First time visiting The Fresh Monkee, cool to see it is a local chain! THE FOOD -they serve protein shakes -extensive menu but also possible to create your own -great for peanut butter lovers but also TON of options for those who aren't fans -I ordered the blueberry pie and it was really tasty! I was expecting more of a smoothie consistency but it was much lighter/thinner consistency as it's a protein shake. I'm not a huge fan of toppings on my drinks so I would get it without the crumbled graham cracker next time -a bit pricey but there are a lot of ingredients and it's a nice size for what you pay in my opinion! I used mine as lunch! THE SERVICE -staff was extremely nice. Told the cashier it was my first time visiting and she asked my likes/dislikes to give me some recommendations! I really appreciated the help -quick check out and making of the shakes THE ATMOSPHERE -really cute theme, very green/jungle-y -variety of seating options including tables and more lounge like seating. There was also a table outside -I was able to hop on a meeting quick while I waited to go to an appointment locally. Overall happy with this place. I personally think this is the best The Fresh Monkee location. It is clean and very welcoming. Not to also mention I received amazing customer service as soon as they opened. I ordered the Blueberry Pie and it was amazing. No complaints nor nothing that could have been fixed for next time. Another girl made the shake, but no hand washing or gloves in sight. Then, I ordered and the cashier made my shake- no handwashing or gloves after handling cash with the customer before me. Maybe the amount of Ultimate Green smoothie receipts there are in my email means something good is going on here. When I'm looking for a treat that is healthy and satisfies what I need to have after a workout, my brain is Pavlov'ed to want Fresh Monkee now. I like the ultimate green smoothie because of all the healthy ingredients, no sugar added, and I get to pick it I want lemon, lime, or orange as my citrus. Some days I'll add vegan protein. I typically avoid it because it has a weird after taste. But the vegan protein Fresh Monkee puts in has no after taste to me. I guess I've become that person who really likes protein. Definitely worth the snack and meal sized options they have to keep me on track with my health and fitness goals. I'll earn my free smoothie through their rewards program soon enough! I was looking forward to getting a shake at fresh monkey and I was a little disappointed I must say. They had one person making shakes and one person hand washing all of the blenders. I mean it's a Saturday morning it's probably going to busy. I totally understand that someone has to wash the items but the person taking orders was also the one making all of the shakes. With that said she cashed me out used my card and then went on to make the shakes with her hands touching the banana after touching my card and the computer screen that everyone has touched. I finally got my shake it was so milky and had little flavor. I was pretty disappointed. For a quick and light post workout snack I love going to the Fresh Monkee. There are so many shake options- enough to suit whatever your taste is. Some days I am a chocolate and protein packed girl; other days I want a refreshing, but not too sweet, green drink, and once in a while I want something fruity and sweet! The Chunkee Monkee is one of my go tos when I want a chocolate peanut butter blend. And as someone who was once suspicious of green drinks, I really enjoyed the Ultimate Green. One day I will go back for one of the more decadent options, like the Cinnamon Toast Crunch or the Hazelnut S'mores. I've been to this location twice now, it's very clean, brightly lit, employees are welcoming, lots of choices. Sounds great, but, perhaps this is just me, I get flustered with all the choices/options as I am vegan and don't know what to choose, how to order, and then I get overwhelmed. I've ordered the chocolate peanut butter combo both times, can't fully recall the name of the drink at the moment. Albeit overall it is tasty, it is TOO much peanut butter overload. Almost to the point I cannot finish it all. But for the hefty price on these, I drink it down. Perhaps I need to just pause and ask a lot of questions to ensure I am getting the perfect smoothie for me, but for now, I will pass. read more

I recently read a write up about the Fresh Monkee, and drove 30 minutes to try one of their shakes. The vibe was not friendly at all. It was not very busy either. A young man waited on me, no greeting, no smile, nothing. I ordered a Nutella shake, which came to over $11.00 for a large. For that price, I would expect something sensational. It was supposed to consist of Nutella, chocolate, protein, milk, and a banana. And what I tasted was chocolate protein powder, a little milk, and ice. There was no Nutella in it, no banana in it. It was totally devoid of taste and texture. It was extremely disappointing, and not a good experience at all. I would not recommend this place for a smoothie or a shake. It was extremely overpriced for what I received. What an overhype! read more
