Went here for the first time and wish I had visited sooner. It's way better than Chopt (comparable food) or Subway (right next door). They have lots of gluten free options, including a gluten-free wrap. The vegetables were very fresh and the store looked immaculately clean. The chicken was white meat. Well cooked and well seasoned. I definitely enjoyed my Tex-Mex wrap. The gentleman who helped me was very nice. The only thing keeping me from five stars is the price, which is in line with other fresh food, but always feels high to me. I think next time I'd get a whole bowl in order to get two meals out of it, which definitely looked doable. read more

This is my 2nd time here. I tried the wrap. I got chicken , lettuce and mozzarella cheese in it. It was huge to big and awkward to handle for me so I ended up pulling it apart and just eating the inside. Which was delicious. My daughter got the Cobb salad. She says was great and very enjoyable to eat. Next time I am in this area I will do another salad. Sorry the pictures of wrap before I tore it open won't come into this page. read more

Came here on a whim. It's a new restaurant that opened up in my neck of the woods, so had to give it a chance. That and they opened during Covid, so I got to give them kudos for doing that. The location is clean and inviting, the staff are nice and knowledgeable. The layout is a little weird, and I don't mean the whole divider walls. For a make-your-own place I usually expect the bins to be close to waist level. Least when you go to a subway or 1000 degree you can see what everything is and pick and choose from there. The displays feel like you have to lean over to get a good view of the ingredients they are using. They also have the first screen menu as you first walk in set to show their protein shakes, which I didn't even associate with their location till I saw the screen right there. Didn't actually see their salad menu till I was at the far back of the store. Nitpicks aside, I let the associate prep me a salad. Ended up with the "build me up, butternut" salad which had kale, quinoa, roasted butternut squash, pumpkin seeds, brussel sprouts, and a honey mustard sauce. Added some avocado and bacon to the half-salad, because why not? In terms of a meal - Well, it's a salad. The dressing was very tasty, they had good croutons, and the butternut squash added a lot of nice sweetness to counteract the bitter of the kale. They did go a bit heavy on the brussel sprouts, which were charred up and cooked nicely. The bacon and avocado didn't add to the dish, which is a shame cause I was hoping the saltiness of the bacon and the richness of the avocado would add some depth. Didn't though, so probably want to avoid that combo with that salad. Price-wise, it's not bad for just a salad. A half-salad with the extras set me back about 11 bucks which is expensive but about par for the area. Flavor-wise, it's pretty good for a salad. I didn't find any element of the salad that was not well done or made well. I admire that they put calorie and protein numbers next to the standard portions of dressing and meats. It's kind of pigeon-holed by being named "salad bar", but they do a good job with their namesake. One thing I would prefer to mention: They have a grilled cheese on the menu for 5 bucks, but no tomato soup. I think a good tomato soup would do well with a grilled cheese, but not everyone likes tomato soup. but that's literally me focusing on the one dish that traditionally isn't healthy in the salad place. They do a good job, and if you're in the mood for a salad they are not a bad option read more

Yum I yum! This location is just as tasty as the Rocky Hill one. I recently saw this when I was in town doing errands. I used to go to the Rocky Hill location a couple times a week but due to Covid I have been working from home. The produce is always fresh. You can pick one of their salads or make your own. They do offer wraps but I always go with a salad. Plus you have the ease of ordering online before you go so you can skip the line. The only complaint I have is that online it says they are always out of croutons and the cheesy garlic bread. And the times I've picked up my salad they have had croutons which they did give at my request on the side of course cuz my salad was already made. So if you're in the mood for a nice tasty salad with fresh ingredients freshly put together the Salad Bar is your place to go. read more

I kept trying. Used excuses like they are new. But four visits later, I have to face it. This place simply is not good. The idea great. The look and cleanliness decent. The ingredients great. The selection excellent. Service, well, they try. Execution abysmal! So here is the thing. First time here I ordered chef salad. Pretty good. Except they forgot the egg. Second time Cobb salad. No bacon. Third time (today) the Nihon. No avocado. Asked for light dressing...it was drenched. Folks, these are their "signature" salads... they should be able to get them right every time. After is done preparing, they line the food up at the register and you get to stare at you food waiting for someone by chance (as nobody seems assigned to it) wanders over and cashes folks out. For 12 minutes. No wonder my salad was soggy! The register adds a 15% tip so make sure you want to leave that...you have to remove it if you feel it unnecessary for mediocre to poor counter service. I left it there but with minor tippers remorse. Three tries are quite enough. Cuz it's one..two...three strikes you're out in the old salad game. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and healthy all of the ingredients were! Chipotle-style ordering which is great, easy to customize. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming! It was nice to be greeted pleasantly and served when ordering. Prices were also fair. Salads (especially with protein) can easily become overpriced. Will absolutely be coming back here. read more

I found out about this place 2 1/2 months ago I want to say I was so excited for it absolutely love that at the beginning. I would place an order online for it to be ready at 7:15 and my order would be done before seven. I'd order about 2-4 times a week. It was jam packed in the containers; absolutely amazing. And now it's slowly going downhill I don't know what's going on. I can order it for 7:15 again and it'll be done by 7:20, so I start ordering it for 7:00 and it's not done until 7:18. Lately they have been missing some parts of my order/ not fulfilling the whole order that I have ordered. Literally our favorite place for yummy salads, wraps, soups, and smoothies. Always the freshest ingredients. Love that they carry a variety of bevs too (like Kombucha or traditional/Mexica coke.) We discovered the Salad Bar a couple months ago and have probably done takeout from there close to 10 times by now. Always fresh, consistent, tasty salads ready fairly quickly. There have been an occasion or two where the order is missing an item but usually not a problem. Now whenever I crave a salad, I know where to go! Was looking for a sandwich place and happened to come across this place. AMAZING!! The food is fresh and customer service is great. Beautiful and clean inside but very slow business wise. I ordered a Cobb wrap and omg it was so big! Almost like a burrito. If you have a hearty appetite these will fill you right up.
