Homefries should shine in a breakfast meal! Chili in the omelette tasted suspiciously like Hormel in a can. He did enjoy the biscuit and gravy, and that's hard to make happen. My daughter thought the sourdough was good. It was over $100.00 for our meal, the prices were a little steep, especially for what they were - average breakfast food, at best. I feel bad saying that, but there didn't seem to be a lot of pride in the food.

This place doesn't disappoint! We came here for brunch the other day and will definitely come back again. This place is notorious for long waits so it's best to add your name to the waitlist online beforehand and check-in when you arrive. Really love that you can do that! Our wait time was 60-80 mins. This gave us time to get ready and ride over. When we actually arrived and checked in, we were seated within 5 mins. There is a large outdoor space for dining and also a section designated for yard games. We didn't spend much time outside but it was a neat feature especially if you have a long wait and need something to do on a nice day. The wait staff was very attentive and took our drink orders right away and our food orders soon after. The hot and iced coffees were great. And they were quick to top off my hot coffee. There are so many great food options and vegan substitutions! We ordered the Hash Quiche and chicken & waffles. Definitely recommend both items! Looking forward to the next time ! read more

Between Boston and Portsmouth, this is the third friendly toast I've been to and they certainly did not disappoint! Though some are saying, "this isn't the toast that I know", you can't expect it to be identical to the others when it's a brand new establishment. As long as you use this app, you get a table while waiting at home or in the awesome turf patio with yard games right out front of the restaurant. As for food and drinks, the seasonal labocado toast is my favorite dish and it tasted exactly as I remembered it from the Portsmouth location. The caffeine machine (spiked coffee) was delicious as well! Our server Emily was nice and easy going, and our food was brought out in a timely fashion. Stopped into have brunch with some friends. Our server Will T was the best . Gave some great advice on different food choices. Was very attentive to our one super picky friends food requests ( Will, where ever you are you nailed it ! ) . The atmosphere was fun and relaxed . Place was packed but it didn't take long for our food everything was delicious and just right down to the extra crispy bacon. I particularly loved that we didn't feel rushed as our brunches are for catching up and we spent as much time laughing and talking as we did eating but Will stopped by to make sure we had everything g we needed and checked in to see what else he could get us. First thing - best blueberry pancake of my whole life. They put the fresh blueberries on top instead of inside the pancake. At first I thought this was a bad move but it was a total game changer. The blueberries were so fresh. The syrup they have from Ben's Sugar shack was also incredible - bottled just for friendly toast apparently. everything else was great, but the blueberry pancakes took the cake. Where service is concerned, it was great. Our waitress Cheyanne was on the spot with whatever we needed and very nice overall. 10/10 will come back next weekend. read more

Just tried it for the first time. We went on a gorgeous evening and being able to sit inside but enjoy the outside with the large screen was awesome. We heard mixed things, but we both loved our drinks and food. Will, our server, was really knowledgeable about both the menu and the various weekly specials and discounts. We haven't tried coming during the busy times, but knowing you can get on the waitlist through the Yelp app should make that easy. We have already decided we want to make 9-holes of golf followed by dinner here a Monday date-night regular. read more

Great place! Had about a 15 minute wait, which was fine with me. They have a nice outdoor area with games which is awesome for the kids - played yard size checkers with my daughter while waiting. I had the avocado toast which was amazing!! One side has a corn salsa, feta cheese, and sliced avocado and the other has arugula, sunny side up egg, with garlic aioli sauce (all on top of mashed avocado). And the garlic aioli was amazing!! My family and I went in for the first time on Wednesday (kids eat free on Wed!). We had a short wait, and an AMAZING server named Kristi. Everything was incredibly clean. Drinks were absolutely delicious and the food was to die for! The chicken and waffles will keep me coming back for sure. My son is 3yo with autism and normally we dread the restaurant experience. The food was quite a delicacy and atmosphere was sublime to say the least. The no straw and limited paper use was truly incredible for the consciousness of our environment. The one draw back from this extraordinarily unique experience, would be the noise level was quite a distraction. Wonderful bar service from Eliza *spelling might be wrong*, she was very attentive, knowledgeable, and funny! She gave us excellent drinks both times we sat at the bar, and also introduced us to a fun *and difficult* game we enjoyed playing before our food came out. We recommend the Churr The One that I want as an app- absolutely light, airy, and perfect sweet bites. Mimosa flight was fun and delish, and main courses of Meg's American Burrito and the Sklarmageddon Omelet will be ordered again. The Friendly Toast is excellent!! It was super easy to join the wait list using yelp, plus there was corn hole set up outside! In addition, all of the staff are great. When my food came out, my side was wrong. A nearby manager apologized (it was nice that they were circulating) and they quickly fixed the error by bringing out an additional side. All the food was delicious! I also got a mimosa flight, it was so fun to try all the flavors! It is a little on the pricey side but completely worth it! read more

My husband and I finally got a chance to visit this Friendly Toast and we were not disappointed! I have loved the location in Portsmouth, NH for years and was excited to bring my husband to this more convenient location. The food was excellent, as expected. First time here after having been to the one in Portsmouth years ago! Truly wonderful! Great atmosphere inside and out! HUGE menu and great selections for everyone! First time visiting but I heard a lot of people talking about it. Sat at the bar with a friend because the place was packed at 9:30am on a weekday! The food was good, the adult beverages were awesome, and the bartenders were incredible. Eliza and Alexa were on point. Thank goodness we ordered only the sandwich because we saw the Codfish plate and were floored by the size of the plate. The prices were excellent as was the service. They had a lady who had been there since the restaurant's inception. We will try them again. There were many tasty-looking offerings on their menu.
