Came to Jams @ 209 as a simple low-key birthday dinner for the SO. Our meal was good, but something…read moreregarding the bill irked me and left a bad taste in my mouth. Located off Geer and Tuolomne, Jams @ 209 is a cute little sports bar that also serves an extensive menu including wings, burgers, pizza, and tacos. Every wall (and even right outside the establishment) is lined with TVs all playing different sports and music videos with a huge focus on 80's music (perfect for the Gen X-ers who seem to frequent here). Upon entering, we seated ourselves at a corner booth and a few minutes later did a nice lady provide us with menus. The SO had ran to the restroom and the nice lady asked me at the table if we wanted to order drinks. She upsold a rum and coke (the SO's favorite) not because she had asked the SO on his way to the restroom like I had thought, but because they have a happy hour special on them and a few other drinks. What a coincidence! The special was $5 for certain drinks between 2-7PM. The nice lady also tried upselling me to get a drink for myself. I feel like after saying no the first time, she shouldn't have pushed with an "are you sure?" two times after. We ended up ordering: Onion rings - great fry and crisp batter. One of the reasons I chose to come here. Mac and Smash burger with side salad - uses Kraft mac-n-cheese type noodles that were a little bland. But with everything put together (pepper jack, fried onion strings, and chipotle sauce), the burger was delicious. SO was impressed with the side salad lol It wasn't a basic garden-type, but more spinach, cucumber, cheese, croutons, etc. PB&J Protein Power burger with sidewinder fries - double patty made this reaaaal meaty. There was a subtle pb&j flavor which was nice, but wish it had more. Sidewinder fries were like the jojo's version of curly fries - thick and potato-y. All portions were big and I thought proportional to the price (esp in this economy). What soured our meal was when we received the bill. There were two line items for +$0.75 for cheddar cheese. I spoke with our nice lady server and she said that it was because we got cheese on our burgers... *question marks??* 1. The item description for both our burgers already include cheese 2. We didn't ask to sub any type of, or add more cheese 3. If we were going to be charged for cheese, we weren't prompted about it beforehand. We didn't get the charges taken off until after these 3 statements were made. I get it, $1.50 isn't much but it's the principle of sneaking in $1-2 for something we didn't ask for. It makes me think they do this often at the expense of patrons under the influence. Just a warning for future customers, double check your bill!!

Their Mai Tais were the best I've ever had ! Place is more like a sports bar that serves great food and it was busy with soccer fans the night we came. I would come back again as I liked this place! It reminds me of Hart of Dixie's, Rammer Jammer Restaurant, where all the locals go to have their beer fix with a meal or two with other locals! Except, its for 21 year olds and up patrons only. We came for their Wednesday night Karaoke and Prime Rib night. Except, we got there a wee bit too early to experience Karaoke but we did enjoy our shared prime rib meal! Although we asked for medium rare, it was more medium well. I ate the medium well sections and my friend ate the medium rare-ish parts. But overall, the meal was very good. We loved the fresh roasted veggies and little potato pops! As for Karaoke, we'll have to experience that some other time. After we ate, we played a game of pool. There's much needed improvements... both tables are wonky. We put in our $2 and only 3 balls came out. So, the staff put $2 into the other pool table and a few more came out. We just combined both ball sets to play and tried our best to memorize which balls belongs to whom. Beware that if you scratch, you will never see that white ball again!! We made the most out of our games and still felt joy. However, it does need to be fixed! I can't say enough about the staff. The lady waitress who served and helped us was so wonderful. She came back several times to check on us and even convinced us to order dessert which we did enjoy! Going to try other theme nights, its that fun there!

When I arrived, I was told I was in the wrong place and directed to walk around the corner. There was no clear signage indicating where DoorDash pickups were supposed to go. The only sign was a small A-frame that was blocked by parked cars, making it nearly impossible to see. Following the directions I was given, I ended up in the back of Mavericks and even wandered into the kitchen, where the cooks looked at me like I was the idiot. I went back to the front, and the waitress walked me to the correct location. As I followed her, I overheard the owner behind the bar say, "There's a goddamn sign," apparently talking about me. He didn't realize I was standing right behind her. When I appeared, his attitude instantly changed, and he apologized by saying, "Sorry, I've been here since 11." 6-7 hours of work, oh no! I'm sorry, but working since 11 isn't an excuse for talking about customers like that. If your pickup process is so confusing that people end up in the kitchen, that's on your business, not your customers. I won't be back. Better signage, a clearer pickup process, and a little respect for customers would go a long way. Do better, Tommy Boy.

Seeing only 12 drafts and not catching the names, I asked for the most darkest beer they had. The bartender suggested Space Dust Ipa with 9%abv. Asked if I wanted a sample. "No" I said "You got me at 9%". They have an impressive stock of hard liquor on the shelves. Sips: Space Dust, Elysian Brewing-WA. (8/16 oz) -actually was 8.2%. Very boozy, buzzworthy, hoppy -very smooth, no bitterness, has a tropical & citrus fruit profile. -drank only one since I didn't want a chaser while going home. Several times I heard behind me "Hello. Robot is coming". A slow moving 'bot with 3 levels of space was delivering foods to patrons on the floor. Nice place to meet with friends & associates. Backside doesn't have much parking. Lotsa parking in main parking lot in front. 4 stars. good service, big place, friendly patrons.

This server definitely deserves 5 stars! Now, the food. We heard good things about the burgers. We didn't have a burger however, we had a Jamwich? I'm not sure if that's the name but it's the fried chicken sandwich with various sauces. And we also tried the santa fe grilled chicken sandwich. I'm not sure of the name on this one either. The fried chicken sandwich apparently comes with two sauces. I only saw one and asked for it on the side because I like to taste the ingredients first. Well, it come with A LOT of the other sauce - maybe a Chipotle type sauce. I mean it was drowned in the sauce. The chicken was cooked in appearance but it ate like it needed more time in the fryer. It was kind of tough to the bite. If you're a chef or cook, you know what I'm talking about. The garlic fries are basic sidewinder fries dressed with parm and garlic. The other chicken sandwich was actually more enjoyable but the fries on that one were very very subpar. They do give large portions and the food looks good in appearance. We may come back to try the burgers since that's what was recommended.
