Who could that be at the Frosty Caboose?

What a cute surprise! It is walking distance from my friend's home and the subway station . My cone was $5 flat. They have lots of flavors and the building itself is whimsical and eye catching. We got her right on time cause a line started to form right after us. The ice cream tasted great on a warm and sunny July day!

Staying in Sandy Springs on a Saturday night and wanted to find some ice cream before bedtime. The Frosty Caboose had some of the highest ratings from reviewers so we took a shot. The Caboose is tucked away in Chamblee in a neighborhood with cool vibes. There is plenty of paved and unpaved parking, a few benches and planters to sit on, but no indoor seating. We arrived about 9:15 and the line wrapped into the parking lot. Still only took about 20 minutes to make it through the line. The staff was friendly and let us sample a couple of flavors each. There are several flavors of ice cream. We found the ice cream to be extra smooth and creamy. The waffle cones were just the right thickness for a good crunch but not too heavy. Prices were fairly reasonable for a little shop like this too. Definitely made the right choice to get our ice cream fix here.

First time here and waited in line for almost 30 minutes. The ice cream was tasty but not worth the long wait. They do have good prices and generous portions.

This place is like the chuck e cheese of ice cream places - families seem to love this place, especially the kids. I can see why - it's very value, there's a lot of flavors, and it has a certain charm with it being on a caboose. However, the ice cream itself is very average. There's nothing special or premium about it, but that's ok - I don't believe that's the point of The Frosty Caboose. Come here for generous sized scoops of ice cream, enjoy the charm of the surrounding chamblee area, and let your inner kid be satisfied with simple pleasures. There's no indoor seating, let alone any seating in general. There's also not really any standing room on the caboose. Instead, what I and most other people did was just stand around and eat our ice cream in the parking lot.

The place is iconic and very nice for pictures. Should visit for people who's not from Atlanta. The ice cream tastes well. Not super delicious for say but very nice during hot summer in Atlanta. The price a little expensive for me. The service is very nice and friendly.

Having major ice cream cravings and so glad that I checked this place out! After an eventful birthday out with my partner, I knew in advance that I wanted to indulge in one of my recent cravings - ice cream. And I was lucky enough that The Frosty Caboose was only 5 minutes away from where we were spending our afternoon. After checking out the reviews and pics online, it was definitely a great way to wind down with a sweet treat. It wasn't difficult to spot at all, as the red train truly stood out. There's enough parking onsite near the trains on gravel and concrete for over a dozen cars which is a plus. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and there were two families enjoying their treats near the train along with 3 parties in line waiting to order or waiting for their items to be completed, love to see local businesses getting love! The ice cream flavors offered something for everybody and I was so happy to have a few minutes to decide what I wanted because wow, they really all sounded great. They offer a variety of ways to enjoy your ice cream including milkshakes, in a cup, cake/sugar/waffle cones and more. One of my major pregnancy cravings is ice cream on a cake cone so it was an easy decision for me. I decided to go with a double scoop on a cake cone with strawberry cheesecake and butter pecan. I also love a great hot dog so for good measure and because my baby said so, I also grabbed a hot dog with relish, ketchup and spicy mustard. Let me say - this was the biggest double scoop of my LIFE. Omg. As soon as they passed it to me I was thinking, "wtf did I get myself into?!" LOL. Let me say, as hungry as I have been eating for two, this was intimidating lol but I was up for the challenge. The ice cream was delicious!! I ate it on the ride home and by the time we made it our house, I was sugared out and felt like I needed to be rolled indoors. I can't believe my boyfriend let my greedy self order that big a** cone LOL but wow, it was such a bargain. I didn't eat my hot dog until later because I had done way too much with the cone but when I did, it was yummy - the bread was super soft too. Can't believe how late I am to the game, the Frosty Caboose has a new fan in me!

Great affordable ice cream! They have lots of flavors and even a non-dairy vanilla ice cream. Great place to stop by on a sunny day!

What a hidden gem. Cute kid friendly location. Next to the Chamblee train station and designed like a ...caboose. lol The Marta rides by, there is a possibility to see other trains, and also get to see planes fly by as the Chamblee airport is very near. We enjoyed the Oreo scoop and a kid sundae. Lots and lots of options to choose from. Very tasty!

I loved it here! This is the cuuutest ice cream stand where you park and walk up to. There isn't anywhere to sit inside, but plenty of space across the parking lot to watch trains pass by. It is the perfect summer activity to sit outside and chat with ice cream while trains pass through. The ice cream was absolutely delicious! I have always loved Jenis, but I think Frosty Caboose just made my number 1 ice cream in Atlanta. Hoping to visit soon and try one of their sundaes ! Recs: Salted Caramel!

Really cute place. Delicious ice cream and reasonable prices. I thought that the scoops were very generous. I ordered one scoop of the coconut ice cream, and it was delicious!

This is one of the cutest ice cream shops i've ever been to. Easy parking and very cute idea of taking an old train and converting it into an ice cream stand. The ice cream they had is very good and I recommend getting one of the specials. I got the Keylime pie sundae and would get it again. It was delicious. My friend got the lemon sundae and we got raspberry filling with it and it was so good!

*Sweet Tooth Conquered* Driving thru Chamblee around the dinner hour, I thought, 'Why not satisfy my sweet tooth?' This is THE cutest set-up, and though it has a line that seems is always long, it moves along quickly. While in line, feel-good tunes (think 80's et al.) entertain while you have time to peruse the flavors. Time flies, and before you know it, you're at the window & you'll know what to order. The variety of flavors span the traditional plus a few specialties (Ex. Coffee Crunch, Carrot Cake, and Rum Raisin) to name a few. And some of those will change with the seasons, of course. Parking is ample & the staff serves with smiles and efficiency. Definitely stop thru to satisfy the kids or just for the Big Kid in you

I noticed that on the Yelp page it had a bunch of tips- one of which was actually relevant: You can get 2 flavors in 1 scoop! Really, just great ice cream. The flavors were so spot-on! The walnuts were all throughout and the maple flavor was fantastic. The banana cream pie was rich and honestly didn't have much of an aftertaste (you know how it is with banana flavoring). The ice cream was super creamy and I could not have been happier with my one scoop. It was just the right amount for an after-dinner treat! My uncle didn't tell me what he got, but he did ask at the window about the banana cream pie I don't know what it was, but he ate it FAST. My sister and my mom both got the same thing, the Coal Train. It had chocolate chips, in chocolate ice, topped with cream whipped cream and hot fudge. My sister said hers melted really fast and it was really syrupy. She "wouldn't get it again". She said it was "Okay". The caboose has some Christmas lights out along the railing leading up to the window, but I do find that the walkway was made rather small for large crowds. A couple girls went up before us and we had to all move to the side to let them pass back by since the walkway doesn't keep going. It just ends at the ordering window. The caboose itself is red and cute. Personally, I recommend- whether for a quick date, an after-dinner treat with the family, or as a single adventurer out on the town...you'll like this ice cream! I guarantee it...maybe, just ask them to hold back with the chocolate fudge.

The food court area is beyond checkout, close to the exit. Once you order, they give you a receipt with an order number on it. When your food is done, they will call your number and there is an electronic box that displays the latest order number called. There is plenty of seating to sit down and eat. I ordered the potato dog, half mozza/half hot dog, and a cheddar dog. Now these K-dogs are huge! If I had known how big they were, I would have just ordered one. The potato dog is fried batter with pieces of potato and a wiener on the inside. If they had seasoned the batter, I would have enjoyed this so much more. Half mozzarella, half dog was really cheesy and good. It was like a giant mozzarella stick. I would definitely get this again except without the hotdog. I didn't care for the taste of the dogs. The cheddar dog was also very cheesy and good. They do give you the option to roll it in sugar, if you want. I really wish I had requested to one rolled in crushed flamin hot cheetos. All in all, the food was different from what I usually get but I'm so glad I tried it. If I ever find myself back here, I'm definitely getting the premium hot dog rolled in the flaming hot Cheetos.

My only gripe was the layer of sugar being way too thick, it left a weird aftertaste and I needed to have something really salty after to counter it haha. I would still return but just ask for no sugar coating or less coating next time :) def try it if you've never had a Korean style corn dog!

During opening weekend I heard that there was a line stretch out for more than 6 hours wait. Location used to be a Won kitchen for Chinese food. --Ambience-- Small to-go type of Chinese fast food space. There are no seats and the standing room can hold maybe 10-15 people tightly packed. The walls are decorated with the sonic the hedgehog game levels. Hanging from the ceiling are the gold rings balloons which added to the charm. --Service/Staff-- This section I am torn on. The staff are just temporary hires and just doing what they are told. A lot of the communication on instagram is not relayed to the employees. So when you come in the employees do not have a clue on what is going on. The staff are doing their best to help everyone, but it is a temp job and I can see they are calling their managers/supervisors are what to do. --Food/Products-- Average or below average fast food. The fries were dry and overcooked. Chicken tenders were nothing to write home to. The Pizza dog, is typical frozen dinner. You come to the place for the experience and the merchandise which four days before closing and the merchandise, the majority were sold out. Don't they plan to restock? --Capacity-- Tight area, maybe 10-15 people in standing room only. There are four or five bar type tables. --Overall-- Go for the experience and the merch if you are a big Sonic the Hedgehog fan. Exclusive Atlanta merch help, if that is your thing. Only recommend if you are a big fan.

The items available were either a Shadow watch or figurine. I opted for a Tails figurine. The other merch looked ok but didn't appear to be officially licensed (based on the tags) . However, the designs were a great fusion of Sonic and Atlanta culture. I ordered a chili cheese dog and onion rings to eat. The onion rings were just ok but I really enjoyed the chili cheese dog. The hotdog was beef and the bun seemed like a nice brioche. Overall, this was a nice fun pop-up. However, it would've been nice if there was more hype for opening day (ex. drink samples, characters, music). The energy inside the restaurant didn't look to match the videos online. I'd go back for the chili cheese dog but I wouldn't wait in line.

Based on the reviews and pictures I saw I decided to give Three Buddies a try. Three Buddies was easy to find as it sits right on the main road. They have their own parking lot so there is ample parking so once I turned, I hopped into a park and we headed inside. Three Buddies has a simple decor as the design aesthetic is straightforward and leaves the focus on the restaurant name itself. The restaurant was very clean and had a diner style setup with ample seating. Once seated, the waitress approached us with a warm smile and cheerful greeting. She provided us with menus, took our drink order, and allowed us some time to review the menus in full. With a variation of halal items on the menu, Three Buddies had me wanting a little bit of everything. However, I decided to go with a classic approach and get the Chicken Sandwich (fried) with Onion Rings (both well done). Once our order was placed, it was back to the enjoyment of the ambiance as we engaged in our conversation. When our food arrived at the table, the visual presentation was extra enticing. The aroma was captivating and after saying grace, o was ready to eat. What I'll say about Farm Burger however is that it's not so much the burgers that stood out to me (even though the one that I had was pretty tasty), but the fries. In all of my years trying out various burger spots and restaurants, none has impressed me thus far regarding its fries like Farm Burger did. The "FB Fries" (which I'm assuming stands for "Farm Burger Fries") are one of the rare exceptions where I felt that I didn't desperately need multiple packets of ketchup to enjoy a side of fries. The seasonings, herbs, and parmesan cheese were the perfect flavorful combination that challenged my natural instinct to grab a bit of ketchup to help it down. Truly a feat in my eyes. As for the burgers itself, I had the custom burger which I customized with: double patty, pepper jack cheese, tomato, lettuce, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, smoked paprika mayo, and sherry date BBQ. I quite enjoyed this physically concoction that I crafted. Not particularly mind blowing in flavor, but the amount of creative power that I had to make my own super sized burger filled with satisfying toppings and ingredients was exciting being the food lover that I am.
