I'd been wanting to check out Frosty Cow for a while and I finally got the chance to go with my girlfriend and a friend... except none of us actually ordered anything. And no, we didn't see any cows either. Strike one. The second time was more eventful. I went with a different group of friends, and this time we did get ice cream and see the cows. (Let me be clear: the cows are not part of the official Frosty Cow experience, but somehow, they're always part of the story.) They're just... there. Big, red-eyed, slightly intimidating cows, chilling nearby like unofficial mascots. We got lowkey scared at first, but of course, that didn't stop us from taking a ridiculous amount of photos. It's unpredictable, though; Another time we drove past, and the cows were nowhere to be found. So if you're planning your visit around cow sightings, maybe call ahead and ask, "Are the cows out tonight?" Totally normal question. As for the ice cream, it's definitely worth the hype. We got the Fruity Pebbles flavor, which was creamy and nostalgic in the best way. My girlfriend found it a little too milky for her taste, but I loved how rich and dairy-forward it was. The cereal bits gave that perfect crunchy finish. All in all, whether you're in it for the ice cream or just hoping for cows, Frosty Cow is a fun little stop worth checking out. read more

Most (if not all) of the soft serve flavors are artificial flavorings, and the ice cream itself isn't anything to write home about, though it's all about the experience. I always pass by this little shack on the way to Costco, and the weather has finally warmed up for the shop to open! The menu boasts around 30-some flavors of soft serve, which implies a personal challenge to try them all? Don't tempt me now! I've had peach, black cherry, and blueberry so far, and all were spectacular. My husband is a sucker for sundaes and I think he might have inhaled the brownie sundae. Will be back to try other flavors! The view is beautiful, with picturesque green surrounding the area. There is a cute little gazebo on-site that we tried to enjoy under, but the wind was a bit strong and might have blown my soft serve over, had we not taken shelter in the car. Located in a speckled shack (resembling a cow) on the side of the road, the Frosty Cow is essential to the summer in upstate NY experience. The workers here were extremely friendly and the menu is extensive! I got the bedrock blast (vanilla soft serve with fruity pebbles cereal blended in) and it was so good! I would definitely come back just for the vibes of the place. You are eating yummy ice cream surrounded by hills of green and it feels like you're in a coming of age movie. Pulled up in drive through window. There were two cars in front of me - 1 was there and 1 pulled just before. Not sure how long the first car was there but within 2-3 minutes it was on the way. After waiting and waiting - we'll over 20 minutes I left. The car in front was still there and NOT served. THis is so typical of this area. No one wants to work and the owners of this business don't seem to care. Unless they had to go milk the cows there's no reason why a customer has to wait this long for an ice cream. Set right in front of a farm with a field of cows behind! Cant get better than that. Service wasn't super quick but there was one girl running 2 windows at a random time during a Sunday afternoon. One was the walk up window but they also had a drive through window which I thought was interesting. However the maple nut soft serve was good! Nice soft and creamy.
