Any time I need to return I'm always excited as I am so looking forward to eating at the Fruited Plain cafe! Thanksgiving 2022 was the second time that my family had a major event catered by Drew and his experienced team at The Fruited Plain to amazing results. Both events were wedding related. One was a larger event with many people, courses and the timing had to work a tight schedule. All of the food was prepared exactly to our specs and agreement and made ready for presentation. The appetizers and finger foods were delicious. A recommendation is to accept his experience and order a bit more than you think as they disappeared almost immediately. The entrees were exquisitely prepared, presented and incredibly tasty. I received rave comments from attendees and many requests for the contact information for The Fruited Plain. The second event was a more intimate, family only event this recent Thanksgiving. Drew and Team prepared a celebratory meal and event around the post wedding celebration for the family that was appreciated all around for the preparation, presentation, amazing taste and consideration in mixing and matching standard and unique pairings of food. Drew was so easy to work with on all details. His expertise in catering made my planning so effortless. Everything was ready on time and looked and tasted as beautiful artwork. Very impressed! The Fruited Plain is moving into my work building and they have started to provide lunch for our meetings. They are an approximate infinity percent improvement over what was there before! The bread was fresh and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. The filling (Baja chicken sandwich) was plentiful and delicious, with the right amount of sauce, fresh avocado... just a joy to eat. The potato salad was made with fresh cut red potatoes! Like, who actually puts good potatoes in potato salad! So the only complaint I have, and I hope the Plain sees this, is that the cookie was overcooked. It was pretty crispy, not chewy, even tasted a bit burnt. That may have been a one-off error and everything else was so good to overcome it. My brother and I drove from Detroit to Parsippany, NJ for a wedding. It was around 9:30 in the morning on a Friday and we were both exhausted, but very hungry, so we did a quick search and located this establishment thanks to Google. We decided to give it a try. Everybody wants to categorize a place, right? This one's a bit hard to pin down. It could be a coffee shop, if you were in a rush and just wanted to grab coffee and go. It can be considered a restaurant given the food they make and the tables, but there's no table service. And it certainly appears that they also do catering, because they busily were working away back there even though for a while we were the only people inside. Not fancy inside, but very clean. Upon entry, we were greeted by two friendly staff, who told us about the daily specials and answered questions. They were very helpful, and began preparing our food. In the meantime, we had some of their delicious coffee and listened to some very good music that they had playing. This place is hard to find, because it's in an office building. It's definitely worth it, however! Good coffee, great music, nice and helpful staff (who gave us tips on where to go and what to do in the area, and also educated us on what the colloquial term "Taylor Ham" means), and very good food. We had a chorizo and sweet potato soup, as well as breakfast sandwiches with home fries. All were very enjoyable. Part of me wishes I worked in this office building. read more

I have only been to fruited plain cafe once.. my only downfall for this place is that it is not next door to my house. I LOVE IT. We had our housewarming catered from them 3 years ago - which was wonderful, but I had no idea they had a café. The café is not at the address on yelp - its actually on rt. 46...I don't think they updated that info - but its a great, healthy, fresh place to eat. I ordered the carrot ginger soup - loved it. and a pasta salad with pesto, feta and spinach. AMAZING. I had to save some to share with my sister later that day bc I knew she would love it too, and she did. Next time i'll get two!! There is an employee there - I forget his name - who really was so super nice in telling me all about the food and the veggie friendly options. His wife is a vegetarian so was very conscious with the broths in the soups etc. So I was on board with everything he was selling me. As I trusted it. Other then that - I'm going in to try the fall vegetable soup today, and am so so excited. Will keep you updated. I had no idea this restaurant existed... and no wonder, there is a small hidden sign and they aren't on Yelp... until now!! First of all, finding this place. It's in the large white office building that's just before the Ramada on Rte 46. It's right there when you walk in the front door of the building. There's sandwiches, soup, salads, parfaits... things that you would want for a light, healthy, and tasty lunch. Both sandwiches that I've tried were very good. High quality ingredients and fresh bread. And even better yet, a great price! Honestly, what more could you ask for? And last but not least, the man who made my sandwich was very friendly, informative, and provided me with awesome customer service. The Fruited Plain. Where do I begin? I was placed in charge of our company lunch for the first time and was told that everyone was looking for something new, so I did some research and chose The Fruited Plain. First, I had no idea how to order but they were very helpful. I actually ended up with the "Executive Lunch". We had previously ordered from Panera and this option was the closet to their option, but cheaper. I took a chance on ordering from an outside place but it paid off 100%. The price per head ended up being less and the compliments I received were numerous. We ended up getting about 6 assorted sandwiches of my choosing, 2 salads plus cookies, soda and water. There were veggie options on the menu so I requested one and there were no complaints. In fact, I was asked for the website after the meeting from other divisions that were not even included in the meal. Not only did the owner deliver our order, but he was on time and set up the stations on his own which was wonderful since I was trying to sneak in on the meeting as much as possible. Everything was prepared wonderfully, the sandwich side and the salad side were both a hit. I would order from them anytime and I only wish my office was close enough for me to visit them daily. I give them an A+++. They will help you make the right choice and never make you feel like you are wasting their time when you aren't sure what you need. I could have spent more money but with their guidance, I was able to choose a plan that was what we wanted and what was cost efficient. I will use them again in a heartbeat. read more

We had The Fruited Plain cater our wedding for 30 people. I was taking a chance, since they were recommended by our wedding officiant, but I had never eaten their food. I am so glad I did, because my husband and our guests, could not have been happier and more satisfied!! We had a variety of starters (vietnamese spring rolls, cheese plate, cocktail franks and smoked salmon), all providing a variety of classic and diverse flavors. We served our lunch buffet style, which included chicken francese, poached salmon, green salad and wild rice with cranberries and scallion. I and many of my guests were from NYC, so standards were very high. Almost every guest commented on how great the food was, saying "This is some of the best food I have had in a long time...perfectly cooked and full of flavor!" several asked for Drew's contact info to use them in the future. Drew (and Karen who did the serving) were also terrific to partner with. Drew got a good feel for the event I was trying to create and both took my suggestions and made recommendations on the right combination of flavors and portions, in several cases telling me to go smaller in size, which I appreciated. Karen worked tirelessly to set-up, serve, and clean up, constantly moving for hours - with a smile - to make sure everything went smoothly. Bottom-line - My expectations were exceeded (which doesn't happen very often, trust me) and I HIGHLY recommend The Fruited Plain!!! read more

After taking a look at other reviews and his menu options I set up a call. Speaking with Drew was easy and efficient; we clicked I guess you could say! Our wedding had 150+ guests and Drews team served the food family style at our choice. All of our guests commented on the top quality and delicious flavors they were served. At one point I snuck back into the kitchen to eat some of the items being passed during cocktail hour, Drew quickly noticed a hungry bride and put together a little sampler!
