This is a small place in the heart of downtown Denville. Parking in back made it easy. I ordered the Union Hill sandwich which was roast beef, provolone, greens, and a horseradish spread. The sandwich was huge and the roast beef rare which is perfect. It was definitely large enough to split with my wife for lunch. Denville is one of my favorite towns with lots of great food options. Lastly, I come on this site and often see reviews regarding the personal nature of the proprietor of the business, which are sometimes so vicious and misplaced, it is not a mystery why the writers of South Park want to feed some of the members of this site what they want to feed them. To that end, if you have a problem with either Dan or his staff, I would have to say that the problem is most likely with you. They couldn't be nicer, more courteous and helpful. I know that sounds like a lot for serving somebody BBQ but those fairgrounds on a weekend can be a certified nuthouse. At no time did I see anyone lose their patience or desire to help the customers. Many stores still weren't even open until the week of our date, but American BBQ company came through for us. We were able to rent a large tent, tables and lights, as well as our catering needs with professional set up and break down. Dominick was our staff member for the night and he did an excellent job. He wore his mask all night and helped keep our catering needs running smoothly. He was very kind and respectful to the guests we had in attendance. Steve was also extremely helpful in the office. We changed our contract and menu several times to get things right, and Steve never hesitated to accommodate our needs. Everyone is very professional and helpful. The mini meatballs and buffalo wings were a huge hit that night, I know we will double up on those orders when we hire the American BBQ company again. We got so many compliments from the food, service, and beautiful tent all night.
