I was kind of worry of taking him to a private groomer because I had a bad experience in the Bay Area with one. I was then stuck with a specific fantastic groomer at a Petco in Northern California. Ever since moving to San Diego, we took him to the La Mesa Petco where they did a horrible job. I am very picky with my dog getting groomed, but I am so beyond happy with Alexis and the service she provided my dog, Gussy. When I booked the appointment everyone was very friendly at this spot as well. Also it is very CLEAN here as well. I highly recommend checking out this place. You will not be disappointed! We are usually able to call a couple days before and get in if it's not the weekend. Otherwise you should probably call a couple weeks ahead. On the day of the appt you can drop your dog off between 7 and 10am. When we've dropped her off around 7 we can usually pick her up around noon. Later dropoffs and we've had to get her closer to close. They give you a call when they're done. Everyone working there has been very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

I'd still come back because the service itself was good, the staff was kind, and the prices are fair. I'd just recommend calling ahead to confirm hours if you're planning to use a walk-in service. She has been rejected by other groomers and even mobile groomers, but Pet Beloved knew how to handle her reactivity, and did so with care and patience. Upon entering and signing in, they took her on a walk to let her get comfortable. They gradually built trust and also gave me a rundown of how short I would like her fur to be, as well as being transparent on how the matting for her poodle fur might cause the cut to be even shorter. I appreciated the headsup! Booking was easy and so was pickup. While it took longer than expected, they communicated with me and kept me updated, which is understandable knowing Onion's demeanor. Please see the photos of the result; before the service we discussed a photo of a Westie face, half of the length off the body, and shorter hair on the legs. She took it upon herself without ANY discussion with me and CUT my baby's hair SO SHORT , I COULD NOT recognize her. She no longer has the signature westie face, has random wisps of hair on her face that were left long, and blade marks thru her body instead of a steady taper from her body to her legs. When I brought up how I distraught, upset and disappointed I was by her taking it upon herself to cut my dog's hair so short, how amateur the job looked and how unrcognizable my baby girl is, she barely apologized, said that HAIR GROWS BACK, did not sound remorseful and argued with me about MATTS in her fur when it is known by myself and my friend who both combed her frequently before the service that were NO matts or matted fur present. Take a look at the photos and decide if this is something you want for your precious pet. I paid $90 with tip and was NOT offered a refund or any compensation.

I made a simple request, and he yelled at me, saying, 'If you don't like it here, you can go somewhere else.' I was shocked. The woman who has always groomed my dog is polite, skilled, and has given my adorable Yorkie the perfect teddy bear cut every time. This time, her son clearly did the grooming instead. He left a noticeable mustache on her face (which has never happened before) and was smirking at me when I picked her up. The regular groomer could tell the cut was poorly done, but she did nothing to fix it. Despite the disappointing result, I still left a tip, as I always do. It's really sad to see this business showing such poor judgment in hiring. I'm taking his advice and will be taking my dog somewhere else from now on.

Rika and her family always do a an amazing job at making Kaytra feel loved, comfortable and feeling fresh! We've never had any problems with telling them any specific needs he may have needed during a session. Kaytra literally RUNS into their shop! We can't even get him close to the bathroom without being suspicious! What the Star dogs team has going on has is something special and anyone we have recommended to since has the same experience. Expect a 2-3hr time frame once you have dropped off your pup, which does help plan out the day, they give you a call when he is ready and is never pushy/try to rush you to come pick them up.
