Upon walking in, it was fairly clean. There are some tables for sitting, a cash register where you order and pay before your food gets made. There are a lot of different options, which I wasn't prepared for. Their online menu didn't reflect everything they had, which was not a problem. Sandwiches were made fresh, meat cut to order, and service was great. I found the deli in the area I'll be going to. I highly recommend coming here!

It's definitely a decent size Italian deli in the heart of Saratoga. While you can't get everything that you'd get downstate in a pork store you can definitely get your fix of fresh mozz here. They also have a few tables you can eat your food at too which is a nice touch. Side note: I wish more Italian delis would do this around here (I love you guys at Dom's in NHP but sitting at Dom's I think would be awesome!) We opted to split a hero which was massive might I add of salami, fresh mozz, roasted peppers with EVOO & balsamic. Service was a wee bit slow but expected because we were in Saratoga and we had no where to be. Would I recommend Fat Paulie? You bet!

In the sea of all that, we wanted to find a local spot for lunch, and we're glad Yelp brought us here. We just wanted a couple of sandwiches. The lady running things highly recommended the Chicken Philly (the kid with her seemed too nervous to recommend anything), and we also got a bacon egg and cheese (SPK). Both folks behind the counter were so friendly, and during the 15 minutes or so we waited for our sandwiches, we were the only people they didn't greet by name. They obviously have a number of regulars, and it's no wonder, because the sandwiches were great. I actually thought the BEC was outstanding, and better than the Chicken Philly. In addition to good sandwiches, they've got local pies for sale, all the chips and drinks you'd ever want, and tables inside and out if you decide not to take your food home with you. It's obviously a local gem, and I'm glad we came by.

He would not just let the added side be $2 , but wanted to weigh it out & charge me for a deli style $6 sliced side in a package as an addition to the $14 sandwich. ($20 Reuben?!) I have made the incredibly difficult decision to close Geshon's Deli & Caterers. Friday, January 30th, 2026, was our final day. This decision was not made lightly as Gershon's has been an integral part of my life since I was a little girl. After my father's untimely passing, I took over with one clear mission, to honor his legacy, keep his dream alive, and continue providing quality service and "good food for good people." For more than 60 years, Gershon's has been shaped by the people who walked through our doors. Every employee, customer, client, and friend has played a role in our story and our success. Unfortunately, rising food costs, ongoing economic challenges, the lasting effects of COVID, and the loss of my final opportunity this week have left me with no other choice. I know Gershon's is a well-known local institution. We've been here a handful of times over the…read moreyears and, I had their sandwiches on a weekly basis periodically thanks to group lunch orders at a previous workplace, and the experience overall has been mixed. On good days, they can serve one of the best sandwiches. Otherwise, I've had several occasions where I was left wondering why my pastrami sandwich was literally two pieces of bread with a small bit of pastrami - no dressing or anything else, and no questions asked. I like the attentiveness of the staff whenever we come here in person whether for diner in or takeaway, and their fresh pickles are wonderfully crunchy and worth looking forward to. They have some delicious pies, too, and the chocolate cream pie is our fave. I would go back, but the inconsistency over time certainly has dampened my enthusiasm that I may have once had.
