I referred my son's girlfriend to here thinking she would get good service. She got told that she needed to replace the engine because the piston was broken. She asked to have it put back together so she could take it for a different opinion. She was told it would be ready early today, around lunch. When she called for status, she was told that they would have to call back. She tried several times to get a status over the phone with no success. She finally went down around 3 to find out what was going on. When she finally got to talk to someone, she was told that they forgot to take it for a test drive. Why anyone would need to take a car for a test drive if the motor was needing to be replaced is beyond me. When she got it my house, after having it towed, we discovered that they had taken out the backseat and did not put it back. The car was brought in for motor repairs, why someone felt the need to pull the seat is beyond me. We also discovered that they did not bother to clean the grease prints from their hands off the car. She was charged over 200 dollars for all of this. I don't understand, what happened to service from here? When I brought my truck in, when it was having problems, they found that the transmission needed to be rebuilt. They were really super at trying to help me and did not charge me because they did not do any repairs. After this experience, I will not return nor refer anyone else despite how close they are to us. Sorry, I cannot refer anyone else to experience this type of service. I have referred others, to different shops due to proximity of where they are at. After our car would not start, we asked our neighbor, who is a mechanic to just take a look. He diagnosed it as a bad alternator and told us it would be between$500-$600. We called around to see if we could find it cheaper somewhere else. I felt that from previous experiences with the alternator that it was not the alternator but a battery or starter problem. The Garage said they could tow our car in as long as we got a diagnostic test done for $45.00. That to me was the best idea but my husband was hesitant. I am so happy we did. They did the diagnostic and found it was just a bad battery. They said we could buy a battery cheaper somewhere else and they would put it in for us charging us only $95.00 for labor, including a free tow and diagnostic so that is what we did. The total cost for the battery plus the labor only from The Garage came to $245.00. We are more than pleased with everything they did and getting us up and running within a couple of hours. I had a great experience at The Garage. I was driving cross country when I checked my oil and it was low. I thought I may need an oil change and went to The Garage. They saw me right away and took my car in. They determined that I didn't need an oil change right away, that I just need to top it off, but they recommended that I get an oil change once I arrived at my destination. I had them tow my car as it was free towing. I will never take my car here again! Originally thought I had an alternator issue, turns out it was a bad battery (even though Auto Zone said it was fine). They call me and tell me its going to be $800 to replace the battery and the "ignition switch linkage" for my car because it won't turn over. My was starting for me fine when I had the battery jumped the day before I had it towed. So, I looked into the issue online and it is a $50 part that is very easy to install on your own. I told them this and he said it wasn't that part it was the "linkage" but I researched the issue online and it is a known issue with the ignition switch itself. Now I am being charged $300 just for labor and a battery installation. Something I could have done at Auto Zone for around $100. Complete rip off! read more

Had to take the Jeep 98 Grand Cherokee in because it was riding rough and steering a little strangely and got a couple of new axles and track bars replaced. Very happy with the work by The Garage. Jeep is running almost like new. Now tires and it will be like new. read more

The worst customer service. I called last week to make an appointment for break service. I was told by a female employee that they were so busy that the first available appointment would not be for 8 days. I accepted that appointment. This morning when I arrived at the appointment time the service manager asked me if I planned on leaving the vehicle for a couple of days. I said no, I have an appointment for this morning for service. He said there was no way he could look at the car for at least two days. I was welcome to leave it, but if I didn't leave the vehicle there was nothing he could do. I told him why make an appointment if you're not going to honor it. He explained that he was overbooked, taking 35 car appointments yesterday alone. Not only was he not apologetic, he was argumentative. "What do you want me to do? I can't take a car off the rack to accommodate you"! I told him that I don't expect preferential treatment, but I do expect him to honor his commitment. The service manager told my wife later that they tell each customer that vehicles will not be initially looked at for a minimum of 24-48 hours After a vehicle is dropped off. That is a lie, no one informed me when I made the appointment, if they had I would have not accepted the appointment time and would have taken it to a more competent garage that can better manage their time and appointments. The service manager is rude and unprofessional. The owners of the garage are interested in one thing, money. They have no concept of customer service or how to treat customers with respect. Several months ago I brought my vehicle in for an oil change, it took a day and a half. This is a 30 to 60 minute service anywhere else in the city. Either the mechanics have no idea how to service a vehicle or the owners are so money hungry that they encourage overbooking with complete disregard to their customers. Wasn't very happy when Chris the service writer quoted me a price for diagnostic fees prior to my vehicle arriving there . He said a lower price on phone then when I picked up my vehicle after he quoted a super high estimate and declined their repairs for over 1100 .00 he then changed his price adding another 50 bucks then he denied ever giving me lower diagnostic estimate . I was on my way from San Diego to Austin and the bumper to my car came loose on the drive. We quickly googled and found the closest garage to secure the bumper temporarily for the rest of the drive. We stopped by and asked if anyone was able to fix it that morning. The man at the front desk was super nice and came outside to look at it. He cut some pieces off to make sure they weren't in the way while we were on the freeway, and re-duct taped it so we would be good for the 11 hours of driving ahead of us. The Garage was recommended to me by a friend. It lived up to the recommendation!! I described as best as I could(being a non mechanical person) the problems I was having with my 1997 Toyota Cressida Dx. I was not very helpful as it has never needed work before. The Garage went over my car and diagnosed the problem promptly. I ask about some other things and was told NO not needed. They had towed the car for free and came to pick me up to get my car. They were friendly, extremely helpful and very thorough. All for a very reasonable price. My car is running great and I feel much better knowing that if I have trouble again there is a business that has my back and can fix my car for a reasonable price. You just dont find that kind of integrity very often and it was really appreciated by me. I liked the shop when I used it the first time. I think that they are expensive. I took my truck in for a transmission fluid and filter change. I had a small problem shifting from park to drive. Well..............I was called by one of service clerks that I needed a transmission cable and a selanoid in my transmission. Later I was called that I didn't have a reverse gear and metal in my oil pan. I needed a new transmission. IT WAS WORKING FINE WHEN I TOOK IT IN !!!!!!! After a heated discussion, $365 bill I drove my truck away with no reverse gear,top speed of 20 mph to a transmission shop. Would you be angry? I payed them to screw up my transmission! NEVER will use them again! If your experiencing over charges and more repairs then you requested. Don't be afraid to complain! read more

I was on the road and needed my oil changed; I brought my car to The Garage because of the stellar reviews for it on yelp. I was greeted politely enough and explained how I was traveling and in a rush. The receptionist, Melanie, asked me if I could come back later in the afternoon, after the staff had finished rotating through their lunch breaks. I repeated I didn't have the time and was ready to take the car somewhere else because, really, it's just an oil change. Melanie then checked in the back and surprised me with the good news that they could indeed fit my oil change in and would start on it immediately. I asked how long this job would take and she, Melanie, estimated it would take under an hour, 40 minutes even. This is for an oil change that includes no 26 point inspection; no air in the tires or cleaned windows. 40 minutes to empty my oil pan, replace the oil filter, and fill with 5 quarts of new oil. I was, again,in a rush but thought I could get some work done while I waited and related the 4 minutes to time well spent not driving. After an hour of sitting in the waiting room - which is devoid of coffee or any other niceties you might expect from a shop that asks you wait 40 minutes for an oil change - I mentioned to Melanie that I thought it was taking a bit long. She was very quick to snap that The Garage was NOT Jiffy Lube and that they take pride in being thorough. OK. I can appreciate that. I applaud a business that values a job well done over a job down fast. I like to think that this sort of attitude is exactly what garnered the praise for The Garage in the first place. So, I ask how much longer she thinks it might take. Melanie is visibly annoyed with me at this point. She assures me that it is not her place to go into the garage and ask the mechanic to see if they can say how much longer it would take to finish this oil change. It is definitely not possible for her to ask them to hurry for a customer that walked in stating clearly that time was THE determining factor for where my business would be taken. Finally, at 75 minutes after I gave my keys over, a bill was presented to me for the job done. There were ZERO notes given to me about my vehicle and ZERO effort made to ensure I left satisfied. Again, i'm rushed, so I get in my car and leave. I thought about this review for a long time before I decided to write it. I wasn't sure until I called Melanie back to explain exactly how and why I was so unhappy with my "thorough" oil change. I told Melanie that my anxiety about time was dismissed and I was made to feel marginalized as a customer while she and other staff members -- this isn't all on Melanie -- chatted about their weekends. I also told Melanie that I was removed to believe that I was out and out lied to in order to secure my business. I've worked in service industries for my entire adult life. I've staked my career as a small business owner on the respect paid to any and all of my customers. Melanie and The Garage treated me like a nuisance and on the phone, after my experience and before I wrote this review, I was again dismissed as a problem customer. I am not an old lady with nothing better to do than chew out people online; i am a successful young business owner. I feel silly spending this much time on a one star review for an OIL CHANGE. But this was my experience, and I can't recommend anyone try to have it repaated. read more

I took my car in to The Garage to have my breaks checked. They got me in on short notice. They checked the breaks and said I only needed the breaks cleaned and adjusted but that there was still plenty of life left in the break pads. The total cost was about $60 - much less than I was expecting! I was out and on my way within an hour and the breaks have been working great since. I felt really good about taking my car here because they told me exactly what my car needed and did not try to up sell me on repairs that I didn't need yet. read more

The best thing about the garage is that they are quite frank with you. I brought them an SUV with 150,000 miles, ten years, zero suspension, and a major oil leak. I asked them if they could help me prepare to drive the car 1,500 miles with little to no worry. I'm glad to say they delivered as I am now writing this review from that location. Not a single issue. I took my truck there to have the brakes checked out. I went to another shop the day before (a national chain) & they quoted me 2 options, 1 @ $1200 & the other @ $850. Both seemed ridiculous so after checking out shops in Yelp (my first time) I came across The Garage. They looked at my car & determined that NO repairs were necessary at this time. The people are very nice, but they failed to diagnose the problem with my car. Then I took my car to Quanz. After I told them about the problems I was having, they told me what they thought the problem was. They then took the car and affirmed their diagnosis. I needed a new head gasket. Our '74 GMC motorhome blew the starter after coming through the mountains, and the guy from AAA said that The Garage was the place to take us, because they work on all the ABQ city vehicles and would likely have the right parts for a vehicle like ours. He was correct! They had the part we needed, fixed it very quickly, and we were back on the road in no time. Very affordable, and the technicians were very friendly and knowledgeable--even gave us some good recommendations of places we should visit on our journey through the southwest. I took my car to "The Garage" and 4 days later I was called to pick it up. I received no updates on why it took 4 days to complete the repairs. Fuel rail sensor, thermostat housing and an oil change $1,006. & change parts and labor. The customer service was absent and I don't think I will go back. read more
