Where others said it couldn't be done or offered solutions that were not tile, Flooring Direct said they could do it. I'll admit that it was a challenge to fully conceptualize how to do it but working with Moji and our installer, Jose, I believe the results justify the effort. The old carpet quickly came out and the initial part of the tile that was straight went in in about two days. Jose spent some time cutting and grinding to get the tiles to match the curving steps but was all finished by the following Friday. Jose and his assistant, Gustavo, were both courteous & professional throughout the project as was Moji who came by often to check on the progress and to be sure we were satisfied with how it was coming together. All the steps from tile selection through scheduling, layout, designing transitions, grout selection and final cleanup, were all pleasant. Would not hesitate to use them in the future and highly recommend them for your consideration.

I asked the owner to replace the section of carpet where the installers spilled something. No, Navid refused. Sleazebag owner operator. Then he sends me the invoice with updated charges with a payment due date which was 5 days in the past making it seem like I am overdue even though the job was not complete yet. This owner/manager will make arrangements for the installation but he will not stand behind the damages that his installers caused. Who wants brand new carpet that have had a soda or dirt spilled on it? I don't go to a clothes store and expect to buy new underwear which comes with a skid mark... Go elsewhere or be the next victim of this shoddy business. Here is how Navid, the Owner, handled the refund due to defective service and faulty materials. No content is anything different than what was actually sent to me or from me. This unhinged communique took 1 week after the Owner, Navid, was to have mailed me a refund for defective merchandise. Me: "No check has been received yet..." Navid: "I waited to see if you would respond. Zelle would have been fast and easy. I mailed it out yesterday. I hope this does not frustrated you." Me: "Yet another passive aggressive attempt to mess things up... Hopefully you can not muster any more incompetence in this matter. It is beyond frustrating." Navid: "I actually helped you more that you can imagine. So shame your anger has caused you to see things clearly I asked a simple question. Why was it so hard to answer? Take a pill. I actually helped you more than you can imagine. It's a shame your anger has kept you from seeing things clearly. I only asked a simple question--why was it so hard to answer? Maybe you need to take a step back and calm down." Me: "Once again, just send me the funds so that I can be done dealing with you. I have more important things to tend to than being dicked around by some lowly shopkeeper." Navid: "Careful little boy. Check was mailed out. I am just getting sick of your nonsense. I am out of town. I make sure I call you personally to deal with your unjust words and personal attack once I get back. I feel so sorry for you. I am sure your childhood must have been a unpleasant one. Take a pill Me: "F**k off kindly." Navid: "Definitely. Must be a childhood issue. How bad was it??" I had to block him as he continued making personal attacks and by name calling. In Closing: Is this a person that you trust to have your email, phone number and address? Some years ago, I made perhaps the biggest mistake ever. I contacted AHS and Herp Penrod to…read moreprovide a price for the repair and replacement of some wood gates at my home. An individual calling himself 'Carmen' came out, looked over the job, and sent out a price sheet; no contract was ever offered. My wife and I agreed and sent the entire asking price to Mr. Penrod to start the job ASAP. My wife and I are both over eighty, and we're considered old school, as Carmen pointed out the two times he spoke to us. The 'old school' was his answer to not replacing the gate handle, the house numbers, the gate spring he tore off, the flag holders on the fascia board and the discarded wood he threw over the wall. He and Mr. Penrod basically approached the job as a paid-for project that was finished. Tongue-and-groove slats were replaced with the cheapest knot-filled, and now, unrequested, spaced wood. The screw heads ranged from Phillips-head to power-tool-only acceptable. To no avail, I contacted the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, the Atty. General's office, the Tucson Better Business Bureau, they had given AHS the A+ rating I relied on, and influenced our decision, and Pima County Age Council. Their response was, "What do you want us to do?" The Tucson BBB replied that they didn't write the reviews, and the Registrar of Contractors was relieved after two appointments, both canceled, didn't address a resolution. The nearly $4,000 job was approached with a hostile age basis attitude of contempt and scorn. The check was cashed so we can do as we wish, and they did. My email request the day after the job was considered done by AHS, and only AHS, as no walk-through was offered or ever took place, to meet with Mr. Penrod and Carmen at my home was less than a five-minute conversation. It seemed it was more a pretext to appease the state's requirement. It ended with Mr. Penrod shouting across my drive, in front of my home, that he considered my email request "a much of bullshit". He later called me from what I believed was his Cell Phone, as it didn't come in clearly and I could not understand him. It was the last attempt either of us made to contact the other. The Tucson BBB continues to have an A+ rating for AHS; Angie's List, on which AHS is considered a vetted and worthy contractor, said "sorry" and was never heard from again. There is much, much more, but as I will soon turn 86, I don't have the time or energy to deal with this 'elder abuse'.

I've hired J & J for five projects over the past six months and they have done an excellent job every time. First, I hired them to seal a closet that was open to the attic. They worked quickly to seal off the space, keeping my kitchen much cooler. They kept my space very clean, getting rid of all drywall debris. Next, I hired them to repair some masonry cracks outside my home and repair plaster inside my home. They got both done simultaneously over about six hours. I work from home, and, even though they were there for a long period of time, they were unobtrusive and allowed me to focus. Then, I hired them to replace drywall in a room that had flooded. They cut out the drywall, cleaned out the mold from the studs, replaces the drywall, and painted the wall. It looks amazing now. Later, I hired them to remove a shower door and re-grout one of my showers that is completely tiled in, including the ceiling. Prior to their work, the shower was unpleasant, with many gaps and holes in the grout leading straight to the walls. They did an excellent job at an affordable price. Finally, today they came to paint my addition. The prior owners never prepared the concrete blocks properly. J & H scraped the old paint, repaired the mortar where needed, primed, and repainted. It looks great! Each project they did, they went above and beyond. When sealing my closet, Josh provided me with advice about some cracks I found while preparing a room to paint. When repairing my exterior walls, they repaired additional cracks I hadn't noticed. When repairing my interior wall, they fixed a patch on my ceiling. When painting outside, they painted some ugly utility boxes that made my backyard look like a utility closet. They're quick to respond with a quote (less than 48 hours) and are realistic about their timelines for repair. They will also recommend someone to you if they can't take on your project in the time frame you need it completed in. I highly recommend these guys. My neighbors love them too, every time they come by, my neighbors are trying to steal them away for their own projects.
